I've heard from a decent source the mathews interest is due to manhoef not being allowed to leave till summer. Former dortmund academy player just put up 10 goals and 10 assists in 30 games in the Swedish top flight ?.

1.) 11 Jan 2024 17:13:53
That sounds like a player to me btw.
What’s the players actual name and club mate? Age aswel?

2.) 11 Jan 2024 17:56:45
23 left winger that can play right and attacking midfielder as well stevie.

3.) 11 Jan 2024 18:04:35
Rangers review saying it’s not true.

4.) 11 Jan 2024 18:10:31
We aren’t interested it’s been confirmed.

5.) 11 Jan 2024 18:29:00
It's almost begging the question are Rangers actually interested in signing anybody?

6.) 11 Jan 2024 18:29:46
Who are we actually interested in signing and i hope it's not going to be a very quiet window when silva is the only player we bring in ?.

7.) 11 Jan 2024 18:33:47
Think ist all down too wages, nfees included , we have too have a set balance n stick too it.

8.) 11 Jan 2024 18:44:25
Coops whatever PC decides we need to trust the manager.

9.) 11 Jan 2024 19:13:34
Basically if they cost money we ain't interested.

10.) 11 Jan 2024 19:15:20
Sir Walter just took the words right out my mouth mate everyone I see posting up names
Doomed then says it’s been reported we’re not interested

So as you say who are we interested in or is the club just doing very well hiding things from journalists.

11.) 11 Jan 2024 19:27:55
Surely if PC has seen lammers is way under par then he'll have seen dessers is and ship him out and get in a no9 with better attributes.

12.) 11 Jan 2024 20:01:13
Storm i do trust the manager but you and i know along with most on here we have to sign some players to tool up to give us the very best chance of winning this league ? First and foremost we just have to sign a goalscorer imo or no league title and that's my honest opinion ?.

13.) 11 Jan 2024 21:01:50
I agree coops but if the manager only brings one in which I don’t think he will, then I will back him. We only brought two in last jan.

14.) 11 Jan 2024 22:57:45
I think moves will depend on medical teams assessment of players that are injured or just coming back which is a scary thought with our track record on injuries.

15.) 11 Jan 2024 23:00:01
ISO if jack, raskin, lundstrum, Cantwell, Wright, cifuentes, dowell, Sterling, rice all available, maybe even Lawrence then we already have numbers can’t see us doing much squad wise until summer.

Short term loans would be smartest approach right now and work on deals between now and end of season for next year.

16.) 11 Jan 2024 23:10:44
I'm pretty sure that Clemens and his team will want to strengthen the squad with first team quality players. I suspect he will also have names that he would like. The problem that I see in him securing the quality he needs is the associated cost. Our central defence, our central and wide attack is all in need of significant upgrade, unfortunately the amount of money wasted by Wilson, Park and latterly Beale has made Clements' job much more difficult.
For me, we just need to live in hope that we sign one or two, even if its on loan and then we ship out all of those at the end of their contract in the summer to release some decent wages and are able to offload a number of others at a decent value.
The amount of money wasted under the previous regime is frightening and we can only hope that next season with Bennett in position full time that we are significantly better run, find some new investment and in the summer that we bring in some real quality.

Andrian kraeve is a name I've heard being thrown around being linked with us seems he's a tall Dm from Bulgaria never seen him or heard of him before tho.

1.) 01 Jan 2024 16:37:49
Also linked to his teammate Jose Cordoba I believe.

Just heard beales been sacked we will find out next few hours any truth?

SamOfOrange

1.) 09 Sep 2023 16:44:37
Looked up a Rangers site just there, no news about it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true.

2.) 09 Sep 2023 17:08:18
He’s changed is online pic to qpr.

3.) 09 Sep 2023 17:13:19
Hearing the Same he’s been sacked and new DOF and manager appointment.

4.) 09 Sep 2023 17:28:35
Yip, I'm reading elsewhere that a new manager has already been sorted and Beale has 100% been bagged - please be true.

I'm glad to say that Eustace is not one of the names being mentioned. One is Potter, but I really can't see this. The other is Muscat, which I believe is much more realistic.

5.) 09 Sep 2023 18:04:19
With all due respect old blue eyes where are you hearing this my friend ? Personally i think it's social media at its best and completely made up crap ?i stand to be proved wrong ?.

6.) 09 Sep 2023 19:08:06
I wonder if John227 or CoplandFront5 have heard from their reliable sources if there's any truth in anything about these michael beale rumours ?.

7.) 09 Sep 2023 19:43:43
I agree coops but I hope it isn’t because beale will not win us a league title.

8.) 09 Sep 2023 18:29:23
Difficult to say whether he’s been or getting sacked
Same goes for online sites relating to potter and us if any truth in them

Pretty sure we shall see.

9.) 09 Sep 2023 22:06:08
What about your source sws.

10.) 09 Sep 2023 23:09:30
What about a Moore muscat double up director of football and manager?

Not my first choice but maybe a realistic one.

11.) 10 Sep 2023 00:42:40
I hope I'm 100% wrong but I'm not sure Potter is right way to go.
He's not won anything great and has managed teams that have to defend for large periods of the game, until he went to Chelsea and we all know how that turned out.
I'll be gutted if this rumour is true. I wanted Craig Moore as DoF and Muscat as coach.
He has won a lot of things and has a team that play fast flowing football and have the majority of the ball. Exactly what we need IMHO.

Not been on talking in a while but have been following most of the discussions. Why is everyone stuck in the 90s? The days of rangers being able to sign great players is done. the days of 442 and mccoist and hately are gone.

We can't sign top class players anymore We have to use the South American leagues places like scandaniva where we can get cheap good talent and make money off them. Another thing the stick tav gets as rangers captain is remarkable granted he's suspect for goals at points but how can you question his grit and his passion the goals he's scored in europe and the league and even against that mob it's remarkable in its self.

If we go on to win the league ( which I don't think will happen ) most on here and on social media will change their tune. Goldson and tav get it rotten and I do think it's deserved at points more so with goldson but what about soutter whos cost us multiple games this season on his own? Lawrence? Cantwell players who have vastly under preformed granted I think cantwells an excellent player when he's not trying to be a show pony.

I think everyone also forgets Celtic had 5 years to build on us while we were down in the depts of football they've had multiple champions league ventures since then plus there player trading model ? all over ours. People need to come to terms with the fact we've been on the back foot for 10 years financially and now their miles ahead of us.

The constant manger changes won't help us either we've been stuck in a cycle since gio of give a manger a year they do well their first 9 months then everything implodes after a few defeats when Ibrox becomes a toxic cauldron and the team underperformeds.

I mean look at clement we were doomed when he came in and we've ended up topping our European group won a cup, in a semi final and took the gap to 3 points granted we should be top. Does anyone think next season will be any different? If we have another tough start or period anytime before xmas I gaurentee the fans will turn again and we will be back to this cycle with another manager.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though as I do think we are finally heading in the right direction from the boardroom and the new scouting systems and youth set up but i think we could still struggle a little longer even if we mange to win the title this year as we won't be gaurenteed CL next season if we went on to win it again.

1.) 20 Apr 2024 18:17:37
Couldn't agree more!

2.) 20 Apr 2024 18:52:50
We have a decent manager now, the problem lies with the squad.
Too many players that are simply not good enough, why are we talking about our right back being our biggest goal threat that in itself is wrong, he is a poor defender that’s where he should be earning the plaudits, Goldson is now too slow same with Lundstram.

We cannot keep playing these players and expecting different outcomes in the big games, they simply do not possess the mental strength I wish it was different. If these players are relied upon next season I will be back next April saying the exact same thing.

13 Jan 2024 18:03:50
Don't think the strikers did much wrong today but again no service really need to add wingers and a 10 that can produce and break lines.

SamOfOrange

1.) 13 Jan 2024 19:38:22
I think Silva is technically a very sound player. What concerns me slightly is he got shoved off the ball and threw himself down in a tantrum and was moaning to the ref. He best get used to that quickly as that’s what he’ll face every week in Scotland.

He’s obviously a very good player but not sure he’s going to enjoy playing in Scotland much. Hope I’m wrong.

2.) 13 Jan 2024 19:40:47
Dessers missed 2 that he should’ve put away.

3.) 13 Jan 2024 20:49:39
The game was played at walking pace and Dessers was still a yard slow and I don`t see Silva as the regular scorer we need. It was only a training game but we must have major concerns abut where our goals will come from in the second half of the season especially when Sima is missing . Wright and Matondo show every time they play that they are not the answer, Dessers is as slow as a week in the jail and we still can`t get Roofe fit enough to play . I saw in another thread someone accuse Kent of stealing a wage, what about this guy, money for nothing almost since he signed.

4.) 13 Jan 2024 20:50:24
Yeah Stevie, Dessers needs to get his shots away far more quickly.

5.) 13 Jan 2024 22:49:45
When the ball fell at Dessers feet I thought I've just got time to make a cuppa before he hits his shot.

13 Jan 2024 01:58:57
Tjbb in regards to lowery I've said it before my younger brother went to braidhurst when he was on the books at Motherwell and was in the same year as lowery and lowery refused to pass the ball when they trained ect at school to people he believed were inferior to his level. He wouldn't talk to them never mind show simple respect on the pitch. His attitude issues have been around long before he lost his mother which is hard from a lad at that age but imo he won't bounce back that was probably the nail in the coffin he will play lower leagues in a few seasons time.

SamOfOrange

1.) 13 Jan 2024 09:12:54
Shame really Sam seen him a good few times in B-Team games 22-23, boy is a player but does have issues, is it not feasible to gt senior pro's to educate him like Tav, Lunny or Jack. Be sore to lose him tbh maybe big PC can sort him out.

2.) 13 Jan 2024 09:42:35
Problem is he is product of the times as well as his own ego. I've had loads of young guys come out to work for me and sadly the majority are useless with their heads up their backsides. Days off, a sense of entitlement, they think the world has never seen anything like them, unaware that mum and dad won't be looking after you or going to work for you once you are an adult, they can't communicate with adults or people in general they have no patter and can be too literal so when you try to have a laugh with them they are clueless and are either offended or just don't understand. So when you criticise or have to give them a telling off they can't take it. If lowry is anything like these people then its no wonder. The only positive you could take from lowry is to hold him as an example to academy prospects as someone who threw it away. Show them what they shouldn't do and skill needs application and humility to drive it.

3.) 13 Jan 2024 11:26:26
Fair assessment Livibear, needs his attitude adjusted but the things on the side of his head won't let the brain know it, sad because when he blinks he'll be 40.

4.) 13 Jan 2024 11:49:24
Morning Sam, I do remember you saying that a while back and have to say you can't be far of the mark with it, there is a ground swell of info indicating the guy is a bit of an idiot. What a shame to through away a career we can only dream of.

5.) 13 Jan 2024 11:56:22
Livi bear I have been dealing with young boys like that at work the last 2 years drives me mad and you can’t even pull them up about these days or HR ain’t yer back. My boy tries it with me too but it doesn’t last long.

6.) 13 Jan 2024 13:46:54
Good post livi, can’t disagree.

Don't know why everyone thinks shankland would be our saving grace. Is he a decent player- yes do I think we should sign him - yes

If any of use watch hearts like I do from time to time shankland is by no means a great footballer or a flair type player most of the games I've watched he's been terrible but he does the only thing he has to do score which is his job. We had a player who did similar in colak. The difference with colak and shankland is colak did it against the low block shankland doesn't face that week in week out he also wouldn't take pens here so that takes a fair tally off his goal mark. The boo boys would have shankland for toast after 4/ 5 games max. So what I'm saying is do use all believe shankland could cope against the low block? Would he be able to do it against Celtic at park head because let's face it Everytime we've went to that cess pit for nearly 3 years our strikers have be isolated alone. For me you just look at previous players with good records in Scotland who have failed elsewhere, stevie may, higedon, cosgrove and even Adam Rooney all they players where great up here for their respective clubs but couldn't cut it at a higher level Jesus cosgrove went for over 2 million and can't get a game in league 1 as did stevie may.

SamOfOrange

1.) 07 Jan 2024 14:01:57
He’s a natural goal scorer and that’s what we have had missing for a long time now. When he gets chances he burys them. That’s what we need at Rangers. All season I have seen Dessers, Lammers, Danilo fluff chance after chance in games. Shankland gets a chance he usually scores. I have no doubts if we sign him we win the league. He would definitely come. Hearts will play hardball though that’s the issue. ????????.

2.) 07 Jan 2024 14:08:56
Gaz shankland misses chances as well . His goal ratio is tgat he scores 1 from every 4.25 chances.
He's not God.

3.) 07 Jan 2024 14:17:51
With the amount of chances we've created recently that haven't been put away what we need isn't a flair player, or a great footballer. It's a goalscorer.

Shankland is proven in the league and that's good enough for me. Every signing's a risk, if we can get a good price I'm sure we'll nab him towards end of window.

4.) 07 Jan 2024 14:19:25
He is what we are missing jfm. A natural goal scorer and leader up front. His record past 2 seasons is there for all to see. He would score 30+ for us given the chances we create.

5.) 07 Jan 2024 14:30:23
Gaz I would like him at rangers, you need to remember about half his goals are from penalties. Tav ain't giving that up. Given that he won't take penalties I find it hard to believe he'd score 30+.
Just commenting on if he gets a chance he usually scores. I'll be kind and round it down, he scores 1 in 4. Given the way we play is he mobile enough to rotate across the front line.

6.) 07 Jan 2024 14:50:43
We do create a lot of chances that aren’t capitalised on. We definitely need someone who has a clinical killer instinct in front of goal when chances are on the plate. I don’t know enough about Shankland to say if he would or he wouldn’t. Penalty taking has been mentioned. How many of his goals are penalties and how many are actual goals in play etc? Says he’s scored 13 goals so far .

7.) 07 Jan 2024 14:57:42
Sam will any striker we look at be used to playing against a low block? Why do we only mention this when talking about striker, wouldn't it be just as difficult for a midfielder or for a wide player that haven't played against low block?
You would think we have been signing players regularly that play against a low block, with how much that question comes up. I may be way off here but have we signed even one player in the last 5 years that were used to playing low block?

8.) 07 Jan 2024 15:01:22
Me too mate. He is more mobile than you think it’s just us Rangers fans doing what we normally do in turning our noses up as he plays for Hearts. His link up play and dropping back off the ball is also impressive and he’s the leader of that Hearts team. As I said he would bring what we are missing at Ibrox jfm but unfortunately I don’t think we will be able to do business with Hearts. ??????.

9.) 07 Jan 2024 15:11:32
I’m not fussed on Shankland.
And I don’t get why he is suddenly going to score a barrowload just because he has joined Rangers - he currently misses roughly the same % of chances as Dessers.
And say we do give Hearts the £3 - 5 million everyone thinks Hearts are after.
What happens if he has another season like he did in Belgium?

10.) 07 Jan 2024 15:31:09
Shanks for me is better than colak who can’t get a game for Parma in serie B colak no better than a journeyman that’s been proved when you look at his career. Never settled king in one place.

No one can say for any degree of certainty that shankland will score 30+ for us that’s just ludicrous.

I would settle for 20+ as we haven’t had that since boyd I think.

Will shanks get that amount more than likely but he won’t be at ranger.

11.) 07 Jan 2024 15:31:57
30 plus behave it’s no Harry Kane we are after.

12.) 07 jan 2024 20:01:30
when you say everyone

do you mean some people.

05 Jan 2024 15:35:02
Shankland makes more than 3k a week, Hallidays on about 4.5 and players like Kingsley make significantly more. Shankland will be on around 7/ 8k a week . Look at hibs supposedly Martin boy makes 10k a week and I believe that as teams like hearts and hibs will have a few high earners then a larger amount of players on the 2/ 3k a week budget.

2.) 05 Jan 2024 17:16:37
Salary sport says shanks on 3k Kingsley on 2.6k which I would tend to go with more than you know offence.

The only thing I does say that I think is wrong it says Lowry is on 6.5k.

3.) 05 Jan 2024 17:20:06
It also says Boyle 7.9k at Hibs.

4.) 05 Jan 2024 19:01:16
Very much doubt your figures. Cant see Shankland on more than £5k.

5.) 05 Jan 2024 19:42:16
Storm that’s what we gave him when he extended his deal, it includes his signing on fee spread over his contract.

6.) 05 Jan 2024 22:13:11
Cheers John so it is true. For some reason the poster has left Kingsley out and he is on 2.6k a week so it’s not significantly more.

Bluey do you watch the same games I watch. We create absolutely nothing on a regular basis for our strikers never have midfields breaking the line always trying to walk the ball in the net or send in 40 crosses a game. We need forward thinking midfielders and productive wingers.

I would like to see more of Dowell before we move him on if he can stay fit he’s a forward thinking midfielder with a cannon in his locker think he could be a good asset if given time. Cifu loan out no buy clause he plays good sell him for more money if not sell him for less. Hope Yilmaz stays and bb is moved on even if it’s a few hundred k to at least get something back for him.

Dujon. How many players have taken more than 6 months to bed in across the world and at rangers? Thousands. Dowell was getting all the praises on here a while back, dessers is coming onto a game, raskins just back from injury and cantwell is extremely talented he just needs to cut out all the fancy tricks and trying to be a show pony. Calling cifuentes a dud as well shows how good your eye is for a player. I don’t think he’s worked this far but to loose him for 2 million is bad business he’s a very good player who will command a decent fee in a few seasons imo. Highland bear why are you always pointing out peoples previous posts or calling them out for something wrong as well? Very toxic behaviour for a so called rangers fan. The Tim’s that visit these sites must lap up all the toxicity and arrogance of some of our support! .
