Seems a bit high? Give us all peace, please. You don’t miss out on a player with genuine quality. Midfield is an area we have chosen to strengthen now instead of the summer. If we sat back and waited, we may have missed our target.

Clement will know we still need a striker this window. Hopefully a RW follows, along with a replacement LB for Ridvan. I presume he will leave this window. Gijs Smal is being spoken about a lot.

Perhaps the fee is slightly higher to avoid the sell on % being included. This could be a good deal.
Remember us taking a lesser fee so as to include a sell on in aribos deal.

I agree guys the fee of £4.5million does look rather high for diomande being out of contract in december ?
Reading between the lines however, i think we've probably had to pay that asking fee for him as interested clubs like union Berlin, RBLeipzig and the 2 unnamed spanish clubs would have been prepared to pay the asking price and we might have lost out if we didn't meet the fee ? Obviously to pay what they wanted means our manager thinks he's worth it ?.

Clement first few comments after his start was we don't have a midfielder who can beat a press forcing the team to be more direct. It's clearly a position that Clement has identified very early and makes sense that we actually spend on the position.

Supposedly on the Rangers Review this morning that Chris Jack guy said he had longer than 11 months left on his deal, but I was like everyone else thought it was 11 months. But if it genuinely was more than 11 months then I could understand.

Supposedly he’s not used to playing on grass because the danish ?? league is full of plastic pitches, and he’s going to take time to adapt but lol should be dynamite against Killie and livi.

That Dennis guy went to Watford tbh I didn’t want him anyway- think there’s better out there than him.

One player I really want is Smal, I know left back isn’t the priority to if someone left and we brought him in, he would make us a better team especially going forward. But for Smal to be effective then we’re going to need that Number 9 we all want.

I like Shankland and would take him, but I think there might be better than him out there, especially on a short term deal. I’m not sure we should be offering a 28 year old a lucrative contract with no sell on value at 4 million or whatever Hearts want idk. Not until we get rid of a few more players and I think that will be summer.

I know it’s not happening but the rumour i wanted to be true was the Belgian ?? guy. So I’d want someone like that, someone at a good level who will come to us to either try to make it to a major tournament with his country or to put himself in the shop window and someone willing to come to us to prove that! Then we could re assess the striking area In the summer, plus Shankland would be cheaper then if he doesn’t sign his improved contract by Hearts or even someone else. One thing about Shankland that puts me off is I don’t think he’d improve us on the European nights. I don’t think PC would play him, other than scoring goals he doesn’t do much else, so say he goes on a dry run. It would then look like bad business.

Right wing? I haven’t really heard of many rumours that are realistic in that area! Yeah I heard about the Boca player but no chance, plus he’d take ages to settle. That’s were I’m at right now in my thinking ?.

At the end of the day looks like we beat out Bundesliga sides, and he is Euro eligible. The fee is what it is, and I am Sure PC is fully aware of the dent it makes in his budget. For me this player looks like he can raise the quality which is paramount to both help win the league and compete at a European level. Added to Silva looks like 2 genuinely good players so far. I know we are all desperate for a striker and possibly LB, but what I like is that if a player doesn’t appear to hit the PC standard we don’t go for him. We will try and miss with some targets but overall I am more than comfortable with the direction we are headed.

4.5m was a bit of a eye opener this morning, a think now there is going to be a couple of outs this window as well as couple in, rumours page going to be red hot for the next week, if I could guess a think Possibly Yilmaz and Cantwell could be away maybe Lawerance, Davies, Borna, although with a couple running down contracts maybe we moved now instead of summer with a replacement.

Plys point against his fee is that he is only 22, played at a decent level, played 100ish senior games, probably find if he kicks on with us he will become a full international, if he does go up a level there's no reason why we could sell for double of what we are paying.

All 4 in for £10 million would be an excellent window IMO….

Personally I don't actually see this as a major fee for a young player that is attracting interest elsewhere in Europe and who, by all accounts has been tracked previously by our Management Team. Clement will clearly want to bring in players that he believes will make a serious difference.
In terms of players leaving, I will be pleasantly surprised if we can shift Davies for a fee, possibly also Barasic, (unless we have concluded that we are happy for him to stay until the summer and then depart for free) .
At this time I don't see Yilmaz moving to Turkey since I understand that there is a standoff between us and Galatasaray - we won't budge from an outright sale and they are still behaving as if it is the 'January Sales', (wanting him at a relatively low loan fee and a low transfer fee) . Typical Turks but if they really want him then they will pay up, probably in February before their window closes.

Hopefully Diomande recovery from malaria has gone well, lad lost a lot of weight and has been through a fair amount of recovery, League player for us this season, looks like a quality signing, having already played in the Conference league this season he can't be registered a second time for a second club in the same season (Uefa article 44 - player registration rules)
