I've met McCann a few times and been at some coaching sessions with him.
It's hard to put in to words, but would be very surprised if he's part of the First Team Coaching set up next season.

Great player, ok pundit, but would be a disaster as a coach. Just because someone can talk a good game, means the square root of hee haw in the grand scheme of things.

So stormtrooper, was steven gerrard wrong when he said that kevin thomson was a very good coach and that he was highly valued within the corridors of ibrox and could go on to become a very good head coach/ manager well ?I think i'll take gerrard's word over yours and anyone else on here regarding kevin thomson's ability as a coach, no disrespect intended ?.

I turn the volume down when mccanns talking, for someone who's never made it as a coach or manager he doesn't half talk the talk. Same with Kevin Thomson, don't want either near the Ibrox management team.

Maybe I'm wrong, but other than a short stint as a rangers youth coach, I don't recall Thomson being on Gerrard's senior coaching team at any point or being considered by the board as a manager when Gerrard, GVB or Beale left? .
