Had a wee discussion with my Rangers mates last night. I said if we could swap Shankland for Dessers tomorrow I'd bite their hand off. Got to say the split surprised me. 60/ 40 in favour of Dessers! I was dumbfounded to say the least!

I wouldn’t even entertain that sort of a deal, Dessers is a better all round player who has scored a similar numbers of goals from open play than Shankland, although he’s probably had better service.
I would accept an argument that we need better than both of them but I’m struggling to see the excitement of Shankland.

Sorry but Shankland is much better than Dessers. For a start Shankland has composure and positional sense, would also bury the majority of chances Dessers has missed. Shankland has tortured. I'm thinking the goals Shankland has scored against Celtic and I'm thinking about that Dessers chance and I'm thinking what if that was Shankland through on goal. Yeah its absolutely Shankland for me.

Not a snowballs chance in hell Dessers is a better all round player than Shankland! That's just not true, Dado.
Shock horror! Rangers fans say Dessers is better than a non playing Rangers striker! Ask Hearts fans and they will say Shankland is better. Ask celtic fans and they will swear it's Kyogo. Ask Aberdeen fans and they will argue it's Miovski. Do you see where I'm going with this? Who would have thought that fans of each team would pick their own striker?! Go figure!

It’s not true in your opinion Roofe, it is in my opinion.
I think Shankland can be too static during games and doesn’t work as hard as dessers off the ball. I also think (in my opinion) that Dessers runs the channels better.
Shankland is a better finishers although his composure certainly wasn’t great on Friday night.
I think there’s not much between both and happy with Dessers leading the line for the run in.
As for next season, I’m happy to agree we need better than both Dessers and Shankland.

Shankland movement nowhere near as good as dessers and it’s not even close but shankland is by far the better finisher but it’s irrelevant as one plays for rangers and one doesn’t.
