John I am unsure as to Raphael Wicky.
I know his representatives spoke to the club but I wasn't aware of it going any further than that.

He certainly would be a very good option.
Is familiar with the structure and style of play.

I will reiterate one thing that I have been made aware of.

Red bull have had an increased advisory role to the owners.
The structure we are attempting to fully implement is the exact structure red bull implement in all of their enterprises.

Out of interest Asa, this style of play which was mentioned by the club as a reason for choosing Martin (which we then got the complete opposite), is there any chance it could be attacking, high octane football while keeping the back door closed? Or could it be tweaked rather than such a regimented plan? Either that or ger RB to chat with Klopp! :-)

Jamger the style of play is believe it or not similar to Jurgen Klopp.
Unfortunately Martin was the wrong choice but the ideals remain the same.

But the owners now leaning heavier on red bull, they did not have an influence first time round.

Asa, I don't believe it haha! But if that is down to Martin, then I look forward to implementing Klopps style of play as it was good and exciting to watch albeit our standard of player is a lot less. Assume Rohl has no connection to Red Bull, know he has plenty of experience as assistant at various German clubs. I would hope he would bring that German attitude of not liking to lose with him.

Our squad is demoralised and quite possibly despised the last "progressive" head coach we had.

This is not the time for another experimental hire, another gamble on an up and comer.

We need a name. An experienced man who will command instant respect and have the players running through walls for him.

Gerrard would have been that man. Now we need another who fits a similar profile in those areas.

Really intrigued to see what direction the owners take with the appointment.
Regarding candidates that have been interviewed officially the only one I know for certain is Rohl. Another name mentioned that I did like was Kieran McKenna.

Both names above are high level coaches that have worked with top players. Rohl at Bayern and the German National team. McKenna at Man United a northern Irishman too that helps.
I've had someone bring up the name Raphael Wicky which I've not seen before - totally left of field.

I think kieran McKenna is a good young coach but we had a few on this site the other day saying they don't want him anywhere near Rangers because of his background, as allegedly he's a Celtic man 🤔I don't care who he supported as a boy, if he comes and does the business for glasgow Rangers that's all i'm interested in 🤔They days are in the past 🤔 It's his ability as a head coach i'm interested in 🤔.

Heard from a very reliable source that Rafa is the man they want. They are not going to mess around this time. Money no object. You heard it here first.

Rafa has a style that suits Thelwell. Plays it from the back, very seldom hits the net, sees him as the same as Russell Martin.

Well, apart from Rohl. 100% unconvinced about the interest in Rohl because of his lack of experience, lack of track record and his age (think he's only 36). I might take some flack about the age comment but for someone relatively unknown I think there's way too many risk factors.
