Sir Walter how’s he not prolific I really don’t get this statement. He scored 9 goals with a minimum of 1 in 7 consecutive games for his club not long ago and has a goal or an assist every 95 mins this season. He’s a far better option than Shankland who you seem to adore.

RE: Shankland, I don't think anyone sees him as a first choice striker. But we need a squad of players, and he would give us an option from the bench, plus he's another much needed homegrown player and he loves the club. I'd take him any day over some of the current squad fillers we have.

Guys like him and Liam Kelly (if McCrorie goes) are never going to be world beaters, but bring something we need in the club. That said, There's no way he's ever worth more than £1-2m, and that's with the 'homegrown' premium on him.

Noticed at least 4 times players looking up to play ball into middle for him and he wasn't there so they checked the sima one being the biggest stand out one.

Think a lot of the players struggled on that surface, never liked it, seemed to worse than previously. It was always going to be the case that players would take time to gel.

Not saying we can't win the league but it's much less likely now with no new striker signed, if we don't win it the criticism will be (quite rightly) that we should've bought a striker, maybe the 3 guys we have brought in will be good signings but we haven't addressed the main thing we needed in this window, its like deciding we needed sweet and sour chicken, bought the sauce the rice and the prawn crackers but never bothered with the chicken! utter madness in my opinion but time will tell.

Yes we do, no question, silva not a natural goalscorer and a goal against dumbarton and the 3rd goal against hibs don't turn you into a player, dessers isn't anywhere near good enough and if we don't sign a striker we won't win the league, and even if for some inexplicable reason you think dessers is good enough he's the only out and out striker we have fit, an injury to him and we would have noone.

Depends what you count as enough. Is it enough to beat most teams in our league? Yes it is. Is it enough for someone to get us over the line in a tough game? I’m not so sure. Dessers chance against Celtic tells me he’s not good enough to consistently put the ball in the back of the net against them. Think we’ll struggle in Europe with those 2 as well.
