I am led to believe that the primary target was Edin Terzic and that we were turned down.
Marco Rose rejected initial advances but the club remains in discussions with his representative.
Ancelotti has been approached but will take time to consider all offers.
Expected in some circles to remain with his father until after world cup qualifying in June at least.

Asa, this is where it gets interesting and I think where a lot of the conflicting information is coming from.
The actual process started a long time ago with c800 candidates who had either applied or been approached with regards to the role.
This was reduced down to a small set of 10-12 genuine candidates and several conversation were conducted between our consultants and their agents.
This got us to our shortlist of two, then three, who were interviewed by the club.
Some of the names I'm seeing who rejected us didn't make it to the shortlist as the through the various conversations between their team and ours things were identified that brought the process to a close i. e. we couldn't meet salary demands, they wanted greater control over salary, specific release clause wouldn't be met.
Does this mean they rejected us? I guess it could be interpreted like this.
Does this mean the successful candidate wasn't first choice? I disagree with this one.

Contradicts a little from what EHL says, with 3 being spoken to, an outstanding candidate from the start who basically accepted the job there and then so if that's the case then nobody would have had the chance to knock us back as the job was offered and accepted.

EHL you could say with that information that we rejected them when they were asking for things that we weren't willing to pay or give, i. e. to be rejected there has to be an offer for a potential manager to reject so we never got that far.
