Has anyone heard any rumours on Charlie Cresswell from Leeds?
We were interested in him in the summer I believe and he is said to be moving this month.
He was very good on loan at Millwall last season.

A very good right sided ch, top top player.

28 Dec 2023 13:32:19
Apparently Fabio Silva is definitely coming to Scotland.
It can only be one of two clubs realistically and our new recruitment director was at PSV with him last season so it could very well be us he's coming to play for.
Clearly I could be putting two and two together and end up getting five but time will tell.

Romano has just confirmed he’s about to sign on loan, no buy option obviously. Not sure on this one.

2.) 28 Dec 2023 14:02:50
Just be announced by Romano, a lot of apologies for the boy who mentioned it the other day.

3.) 28 Dec 2023 14:04:32
Interesting if so. See the media reporting this.

4.) 28 Dec 2023 14:07:27
Fabrizio romano says its on.

5.) 28 Dec 2023 14:12:47
Romano just tweeted here until June no option to buy.

6.) 28 Dec 2023 14:12:58
FABRIZIO says deal is done.

7.) 28 Dec 2023 14:19:59
Romano just reported it’s a done deal that he’s coming to Rangers. 6 month loan with no option to buy.

8.) 28 Dec 2023 14:20:22
All but confirmed by the club.

9.) 28 Dec 2023 14:22:31
Been reported he is coming to us but as you say, time will tell.

10.) 28 Dec 2023 14:24:28
We can’t afford to buy him that’s why no option to buy.

11.) 28 Dec 2023 14:54:10
Correct storm, i think he'll do well.

12.) 28 Dec 2023 14:55:37
His market value is £13m on Transfermarkt and they bought him for 35. Was no chance of us ever paying a fee they'd be wanting. Happy to trust the manager even though his stats are underwhelming.

13.) 28 Dec 2023 16:11:50
Available for killie game.

14.) 28 Dec 2023 17:03:09
Slipper I contacted Somy after the lad posted. His information was 100 % on th button I was told.

So very well done to him.

15.) 28 Dec 2023 17:11:45
Kiss of death my star ?

I worry about him with the physical play in Scotland.

16.) 28 Dec 2023 18:23:02
My Star you would say Mr Magoo would do well if he signed for Rangers.

20 Jul 2023 15:26:03
We have already lost Arfield and McGregor from our home grown quota for Europe and it's very likely we will also lose McCrorrie and Wright as well as possibly King going on loan.

I would imagine we would be looking to bring in at least one or two home grown players or do we just promote the likes of Bailey Rice etc?
Has anyone heard of any interest in other home grown players?

Frank-the-Tank

1.) 20 Jul 2023 15:52:01
I agree we've kinda neglected our recruitment of Scottish players but we've had decent Scottish players on the books and not played them will be very surprised if Scottish talent would want to sign for us to sit on the bench for a quota

When people sit and watch liked of Devine Lowry mccrorie not get a proper chance why on earth would they want to sign for us unless they are a rangers fan.

2.) 20 Jul 2023 16:04:16
Rice, Devine and Lowry will all be in the squad and used regularly but no reports anywhere re home grown except for Campbell at Hibs, though Max Johnston hasn't left Motherwell yet and I would try to get him .

3.) 20 Jul 2023 16:09:07
McCrorie should have been number 1 last season definitely. King got his chance and didn’t take his chance, albeit he was thrown in at the deep end but if you want to be a Rangers player you have to step up when it matters. Lowry had personal issues, a bad injury and apparent attitude problems and Devine just isn’t good enough to usurp Tav just now who pretty much plays 50 games a season for us. Youth will be given a chance but only if good enough.

4.) 20 Jul 2023 16:14:07
Hi! Just registered to say that we should be nurturing the likes of Devine, King, Yfeko, Lyall, Rice, McKinnon, Lowry and Lovelace. I'd rather see us develop these guys over the next season than bring people in. We have a brilliant academy and these kids deserve a route to the first team and their chance.

I know some don't qualify as homegrown (yet) but isn't it trained in a country for three years before the can be considered to be homegrown?

5.) 20 Jul 2023 16:15:25
Just on the mccrorie topic, Leicester signed danish under 21 keeper for £5m so he won’t be going there.

6.) 20 Jul 2023 16:28:25
There isn't a rule where you can't play in europe if you don't have enough home grown players. I would mean that your bench is weaker. Having youth players on the bench in the champions league in my opinion is the same as having nobody on the bench. Who could we realistically target, that would improve the team at the champions league level, who is Scottish?

7.) 20 Jul 2023 16:45:13
All the players mentioned don't go to quota as are u21 they can be registered and don't take up space so we'll have 17 first teamers plus jack mccrorie and wright (if they stay) plus u21s filling space on the bench I'd say we need more especially if we get injuries.

8.) 20 Jul 2023 16:56:45
I believe we can register the so called b list as a list if we want. Asking as club trained between 15-21. Don’t have to be over 21.

9.) 20 Jul 2023 16:57:09
Used regularly really Drb

Guess that depends on your definition of regularly

If regularly means the last sub of five for last 3or 4 Min then sure

Rangers are the worst team in league for youth development simple and I kinda get it if we are winning stuff but we are not winning and they are still not getting a chance.

10.) 20 Jul 2023 16:59:28
Todd the pros devine played left back did well and got dropped as soon as barasic was fit not because his performance was not good enough.

What kinda message does it send when you drop a young player when he's done nowt wrong.

11.) 20 Jul 2023 17:10:02
Gofor that’s the reason they don’t play because we aren’t winning you would be on here calling for the managers head if they played some youth and continuously got beat. Young players should only play if good enough and if they aren’t then the manager must deem them not good enough.

12.) 20 Jul 2023 17:25:37
Goforbig so youd rather mb fielded 3-4-5 youngsters in the first team? Then you’ll be the first to moan when we get beat . hahah. Fu•• me.

13.) 20 Jul 2023 17:54:23
I think we the league needs to look at how many scottish players a team has in there squad as at least we always have 3/ 4 players. There was times last season where celtic had 1 scottish player.

I think we need to look at Norway or Denmark as they have rules that states a squad needs to be made up by at least 50% off home grown players and this is how the national teams progresses. If all teams in scotland had to do the same the league would be a better playing field and celtic would be relagated as there youth team is pish. ???.

14.) 20 Jul 2023 17:57:52
Stevie why not go read rule instead of guess

Jew u r 100% correct.

15.) 20 Jul 2023 18:07:54
Jmw we r headed for avery small euro squad.

17 as you say. Likely to include butland and another non Scot trained goalie

Kieran wright only home grown, mcpake eligible but

Jack Souttar

So20. Plus number of academy who have been three tears at rangers so rules out ishaka Lovelace yfeko.

16.) 20 Jul 2023 18:12:59
Go for Devine didn’t do anything wrong but he also never set the heather alight. Barisic despite his flaws (and I do want him to leave btw) is a seasoned international player who has been a brilliant signing for us and still offers a lot in the way of assists and dead balls. Nothing Devine did at LB said to me he should be in ahead of Barisic.

17.) 20 Jul 2023 18:18:46
John, your quite right I should take the time to go read it instead of guess work.
I’m an intelligent person so one read over it and I’d understand just aswell as others do.

Perhaps lazy on my part.

I’m going to go do that tomoz ??.

18.) 20 Jul 2023 18:21:55
Ibroxstorm, it has worked really well in the countries you mention, Denmark having dropped to 19th in the Fifa rankings and Norway 15 places below Scotland. Like the old 'three foreigners' rule. it just doesn't work, mate.

19.) 20 Jul 2023 18:39:48
Seem to have moved away from buying up the young talent from our league. Recently we have watched as the likes of Ferguson, Doig, Ramsey, Hickey have all been bought by clubs outside our country with all of them in our budgets. All have went on to progress at a rapid pace other than young Ramsey.

20.) 20 Jul 2023 18:49:01
Yea definitely do not think we should change the league to more Scottish players in squads. The league is awful as it is half of the time the best players in the league outside of us and them are 19/ 20 yo released prem youngsters.

And even our youngsters who are okay go and and struggle or just pretty average same for Celtics.

21.) 20 Jul 2023 19:07:05
Correct bellshill good post mate.

22.) 20 jul 2023 19:11:58
i have never felt mcrorie could be rangers number one. i still dont, and yes, ferguson at aberdeen and the boy from hibs were obvious choices, to me . we slept both times . imo.

23.) 20 Jul 2023 19:23:31
Why would we want to use players from our B team when they can't even winntheir own league against much weaker opposition? If they can't play against highland league teams and run away with their league comfortably, then they aren't going to be much help against premiership sides.

24.) 20 Jul 2023 19:26:51
King won't be heading out on loan this window as it stands No team will come in until he's fully recovered from his injury January is a likely date for it to happen.

25.) 20 Jul 2023 19:43:58
When Barisic and Ridvan were both injured Devine came into the team. He played 3 games in a row. He won at least one MOTM award, was named in the SPFL’s team of the week, and set up a goal away from home. I’m not sure what more he could’ve done. The lad was one of our best players then he just vanished.

26.) 20 Jul 2023 19:52:50
Great Stevie, hope u did not take that as a pop, it’s easier to understand than get bits and pieces on here, which are not accurate.

27.) 20 Jul 2023 20:28:56
No John, be honest at 1st I felt “wee dig”
But on replying I realised, your only pointing out the obvious, so I will read the rule as it’s not hard to find. I think sometimes we can all become lazy and just pop onto socials like this site for our “knowledge” instead of going and finding out for ourselves mate.
It’s always good to learn mate rather than assume knowledge ??.

28.) 20 Jul 2023 20:43:27
Bellshill we were interested in Doig
Have that from a good source.
Host of reasons why it didn’t happen.

29.) 20 Jul 2023 20:54:06
Bellshill said that many times last season mate
not sure why we didn’t go for them mangers at the time thought they knew best and ended up with a good few players who haven’t met their expectations
Over the past few years I just hope the new players Beale is now bringing in will improve us and we can now move forward

Also seigrist could have been a keeper I think we should have went for too not getting a sniff at Celtic and he’s a good keeper better than McLaughlin that’s for sure
Could have been a number 2 easily

anyway think we’re going to now have a full strength squad with every player goi g to give it their best this season
Looking forward to it.

30.) 20 Jul 2023 22:54:21
So in other words you blame the youth for not Winn g storm ? and I thought we didn't drop points when devine had his run might be wrong though.

31.) 20 Jul 2023 22:55:24
Thestingono1 did he not choose Celtic over rangers.

32.) 20 Jul 2023 23:13:12
Wright
Devine
Souttar
King
Jack
Rice
Lowry.

33.) 21 Jul 2023 03:22:44
You can't blame king for being flung in at the deep end against Liverpool, no way was that the boys fault. he hardly had a game and got brought on against a superior team.

34.) 21 Jul 2023 06:32:06
In terms of youth development ill give a simple answer. Leon Balogun.

35.) 21 Jul 2023 07:01:08
He was also poor in SPFL - look at his performance against St Johnstone when we lost 2-1.

36.) 21 Jul 2023 07:42:06
Gofor where did I blame the youth for not winning? Are you unable to read and understand points being made to you ?‍♂️.

37.) 21 Jul 2023 08:13:41
The youth are good to a certain age group then they no longer have a development route. The lack of u17,19,20,21,23 or reserves means their development stops and our youth never fulfill their potential or reach a required standard. The current Scotland players like mcginn, MacGregor, jack, Tierney, Armstrong and Christie all had a bit more of a chance u17,20 and reserves were all there to help them move up. Now there's nothing between u16 and 18 and nothing after u18. If you are 15 and the next year you have to move up to u18 then you have 3 different years of 18's to contend with and they may be much bigger than you and you may not get through until the final year. Plus in every other country and in international football u18 or 16 means it is that age and below in Scotland once you reach that age that's you moving up you do get to finish the season if your birthday fall after a certain time but that would be the case in England if you turned 17 during an u16 season. The sfa like to say that they want accelerate development but really they are stopping it dead.

38.) 21 Jul 2023 11:46:41
Livi very good post.

39.) 21 Jul 2023 14:00:09
No I wouldn't storm you've obviously never seen my posts on Stuart McCall.

40.) 21 Jul 2023 14:06:26
Ant there have been time rangers were three up or two up and bring on useless players instead of young potential

Can you tell me what Lowry did wrong on the pitch with his performances?

Can you tell me what devine did wrong on pitch with performances?

Can you tell me what mccrorie did wrong with his clean sheet record?

When your manager brings your best youth on with a minute to go as a fifth sub that's just plain insulting then we get this stupid talk about attitude.

Ego in a player is not bad all the time sometimes it's what helps drive a player.

You think guys like cantona and Ronaldo don't have ego?

41.) 21 Jul 2023 14:09:43
Our youth development is a sham.

We should start being honest with youth and tell them we want you here for three years between the domestic trained years so if when you develope into player we believe you could when older you have a much stronger chance of having a decent rangers career.

After that three years we won't stand in your way and do everything to get you beat club possible.

42.) 21 Jul 2023 14:14:25
Livibear nothing to do with age groups more to do with not playing first team football.

If you had age groups that defines it just means you would dilute the standard of player they play against

More players leat talent

I still think the ranger B team in divisions is good but only if promotion is allowed. We would have to have age restrictions or other so clubs can't abuse the system purely for promotion.

I would also love to see a Scottish youth team in league structure where only players eligible for Scotland can sign and they be sold by a certain age . a non profit can sell players but all money goes back into development facilities.

43.) 21 Jul 2023 14:25:03
No you wouldn’t go for? I asked you where did I blame the youth for not winning? Again read and understand before posting.

44.) 21 Jul 2023 19:18:24
Livi, a well written post.

45.) 21 Jul 2023 19:18:24
Livi, a well written post.

46.) 22 Jul 2023 09:13:11
Sconnor did I say three four or 5 at same time NO!

So stop making up lies of what people have said or try reading my point instead

There has been plenty of opportunities for Beale to field young players when we've been well in front in games but instead brough on guys they know fine well are leaving the following season

It's short sighted how are you ever going to find out what these guys are made of without game time people seem to think these boys just appear and are good enough or not ?

There is a reason it's called development because you actually have to develope them by playing them.

If Lowry not going to play regular or he should at least loan them to a club they can play every week.

47.) 22 Jul 2023 09:27:46
Ok storm so devine played six games in his spell in team

We won all six and kept 4 clean sheets

So we were not winning with devine in the team?

3-2 Hibs
3-2 Aberdeen
1-0 Ross county
3-0 Motherwell
2-0 Dundee United
3-0 stmirren

Yeah terrible results eh!

Lowry appearances one draw rest wins

3-0 Motherwell
3-0 hearts
3-0 Celtic
3-1 Hibs
2-2 hearts

Mccrorie appearances wins

1-0 Aberdeen
3-0 Celtic
3-1 Hibs
3-0 stmirren

So where is your proof of rangers losing with them in team again STORM!

17 Jul 2023 15:31:32
Looks like Kamara has agreed terms with Leeds - Not sure on the fee yet though.

Frank-the-Tank

1.) 17 Jul 2023 16:30:39
Good move for him and hopefully a few million for us.

2.) 17 Jul 2023 16:31:34
Yes seems to be on, good move for him.

3.) 17 Jul 2023 16:44:00
That’l be excellent if we can get 5M or there a-bouts. Getting more positive, and it’s only Monday.

4.) 17 Jul 2023 16:44:11
Hopefully £5m and a decent sell on as I think he’ll do great at Leeds style of football will suit him and in championship he will shine. He should go for £20m in 1-2years so hopefully it’s a 20% profit sell on.

5.) 17 Jul 2023 16:59:01
Great move for all parties especially if we can get 4/ 5 million what a return on a 50k player.

6.) 17 Jul 2023 17:24:48
Yes, that would be a good return. Hopefully decent sell on added as mentioned above.

7.) 17 Jul 2023 17:31:45
Around 4m with add ons and 10% clause.

Another poor fee from us. Poor deal! Not terrible not great for a very very good player with great international rating too.

Yes we made good profit, not the point. We are cr@p at this.

8.) 17 Jul 2023 17:37:19
Honestly can't see Leeds going back up this season wish him the best but shocked no prem club taken a chance on him he's a very tidy player and his best work is when he's being pressed.

9.) 17 Jul 2023 17:41:55
I heard the fee if £4m for Kamara.

10.) 17 Jul 2023 19:36:17
We payed 50 k for him. Yeah he’s an international and good player but he buried his head in the sand last season so that’s not going to help attract bigger clubs. He obviously wants away so take the ? and move on.

11.) 17 Jul 2023 20:13:07
makes you wonder how much the tic would sell kamara for, be more than we are allegedly getting.

12.) 17 Jul 2023 22:04:57
A very very good player that was fit last season but couldn’t get in the team cause he didn’t fancy it.
On his day he is a good player, but didn’t look half the player last season than the one we signed.
If he is that good when people post our best 11 why isn’t he in it.
Under the circumstances I believe 4 million if decent.
Good luck to him and we move on with players that want to be at the club.

Not sure if it's lazy reporting due to his past links but I've seen a few reporting that Harry Souttar could be coming to us.

I wonder if it's an alternative to McKenna (although he's right footed) if his wage demands are a bit high.

Frank-the-Tank

1.) 07 Jan 2024 21:08:41
I don't understand this interest in Harry souttar. Apart from a decent couple of games at the world cup he has not impressed me at all.

2.) 07 Jan 2024 22:09:03
Harry Souttar is head and shoulders better than what we currently have, Jfm. It's not even close!

3.) 07 jan 2024 23:15:14
probably the ch i was told about months ago, who knows.

4.) 08 Jan 2024 00:57:46
HarrySouttar is probably better than what we have got and better than what we are looking at, would chip in with a few goals as well, would take him on loan no problem, Leicester might cut their losses and get rid for a reasonable price come the summer, spending our money in the attack is what will win the league.

5.) 08 Jan 2024 00:59:42
Head and shoulders better than what we have lol what evidence is there to back that up.

6.) 08 Jan 2024 01:00:17
People said same about Davies simply because he was at Liverpool

I warned people at the time we were overpaying.

7.) 08 Jan 2024 06:53:25
Lets be honest and say that Goldson is currently best of the rest CHs and to be fair apart from Tavs goals we could easily replace the complete back four from a defensive point of view if the cash was there- yes we can bleat that currently our defence is top of the pile but for many seasons we have struggled in that area if truth be told (we lose too many goals via pace or marking through our C Defence and score nowhere near enough goals from our CHs at set pieces) -also we need to spend in other critical areas of the park so I expect at best a LB change and maybe a loan for a CH - getting player/ s with goals up top need to be our priority at this stage .

8.) 08 Jan 2024 08:09:29
We have the best defence! Your argument makes no sense! If we score more there is no longer a problem! That’s the issue it’s quite simple.

9.) 08 Jan 2024 08:36:40
Gdog the one main difference this season is Butland. I fully agree with blue floyd here our defence has been a problem for years too.

10.) 08 Jan 2024 09:04:15
RTR, I agree reg Harry Souttar.

A couple more quality players and this could be an excellent season ahead.
That’s if our players would stop getting injured every five minutes of course.

Getting him on a free and then a fee for Ridvan would be good business.

Normally I wouldn’t want him back but we are struggling in the final third so I probably would take him but he would need to be consistent and that worries me.

We had add ons for Ridvan of around £2m that we didn’t need to pay as he didn’t meet the targets for the add ons.

I agree Ibrox Devine definitely needs games and will only get that on loan.
I’m sure someone said the only loan options so far are not SPL and I’m sure our management will want him to go to SPL standard teams.
McCrorrie, King and possibly Rice could do with the same.
I guess a lot will depend on who all leaves this windows and what cover that leaves us with.

Getting the striker position sorted could very well be the difference between winning the league and not winning it.
Shankland makes sense although it would come down to finance.

Kevin Denkey from Belgium would be excellent but he is bound to be outside our price range.

Selling Ridvan, Wright, Davies, Hagi etc would help with this but we need teams to want these players.

I like the look of the left back Smal from Holland as a replacement for Ridvan or Borna.

I certainly trust big Phil to get this right.
It’s just a shame he won’t have the budget that Beale had - Lammers, Danilo and Dessers have really been a let down.

It would definitely be more transparent than it is now and there would be less chance of referees like Collum and Clancy influencing the game the way the like to.

I think the rules around handball need to be made much clearer as pundits are arguing over this every week - Not that there was any difficulty in last weeks handball of course.

The other thing is that the crowd at Rugby is very different and less aggressive than football so the referees would argue that the pressure would be much higher.

I definitely think it’s something they should work towards as it’s completely transparent.
They should start by making the audio from every match available to clubs.

Referees need to be accountable as well.
The SFA need to bin Collum as we have already complained about him and he continues to lose us points.
