Was talking to the taxi driver earlier, his son works at our training ground in the sports science dept. Saying we must shift players now, the money we are spending we have not got and the sales of some players need to be had to balance the books. We are already eating into the overdraft that JB has provided. I think that's why we will accept the 1.5 million for Colak because its money coming in. I am not sure who would really want to buy the rest of the players we have to offer. But we need 4 million in the door to balance what has been spent.

You do realise that we don`t have to pay transfer fees up front, payments are spread, as will the fees for anyone we sell . Beale said that he had been given a good budget, by my reckoning he has spent only £8.5 million in fees which shouldn`t be a worry for us . I know there are wages to be paid as well but they are spread over 12 months . We have saved a few quid with the players that were freed and there will undoubtedly be more to come but all this talk of some kind of panic is just the usual coming from the obsessed and their apologists in the media.

Did the taxi driver used to work at Glasgow Airport for Menzies lol. The money we have spent on signings so far this season was the money that was ring fenced for Sands and Tilman. I don't get the logic that we are desperate for money yet willing to take less money for players that have interest. Also unsure about other saleable assets. Kamara is getting interest, same with Wright, Davies, Hagi, Yilmaz, and could easily move on others.

What happens if the players we want to sell/ bin off do not want to leave? What if the wages a new club offer are less than what we are giving them? We get stuck with them I presume?

Arrange a pay off, tell them they have no chance of being selected etc. If they dig their heels in there's nothing much the club can do, but there are always ways to make sure they do move on.

Think you just answered your own question there. Hence why in the past we’ve had to pay off players before, hopefully something we won’t go back to doing. This is part of the problem with being a big fish in a small pond (so to speak) . In order to encourage some players to come to us in the first place we often have to offer more in wages than other teams interested in said players (teams that may not be as big a club but play in better leagues) . Problem then is, if we no longer want that player, any club that does come in for them is likely to offer far less in wages. Hence why a lot of players decide not to go and end up sitting in the stands collecting inflated wages and proving very difficult to shift.

Sadly this is what happens in football but there will be players who want to ply an players who won't want a reputation of being that players. hopefully everything goes to plan but you can blame them if they want to play hard ball as they are under contract.

I can't see the panic about moving on Scott Wright. Decent squad player on a low wage that helps our homegrown numbers for Europe. He's limited in ability but has contributed far more than he's given credit for his positive play is definitely a big plus as were short in that type.
