If there is a team out there willing to buy, Barron, then take the money. Running around all day, and putting a shift in, can only take you so far when you are seriously lacking in any sort of talent.

At this point it's not WHU. They have lots of promising young midfielders like Potts and Orford, who are miles better on the ball than Barron. They will undoubtedly be in the market for a more experienced midfielder now Soucek is out for the season, but I'd be astonished if it was Barron. He's not good enough.

I honestly wish some would give wee Connor Barron a break, so I do. 😡 Barron is a better player in what he does than is given credit for. 🤔 We've all witnessed the start Cammy Devlin has made in his Rangers career, and it's been superb, and Barron is a very similar styled player to Devlin.

Seriously, if he's picked and pulls on a Rangers shirt, he'll be supported by all, but that doesn't mean we should change our opinion and give him a break.

I don't think Sir Walter was frustrated that people's opinions differed from his; he's more frustrated that fans are on his back, and was asking them to give him a break.
I'm on the fence with Barron, and I think he's a little better than folk give him credit for.
He'll never be a superstar, and we've had worse (and will have worse again) wearing a Rangers jersey.
If we got the right price, then it's probably a good move for everybody. Italy would be a smart move for him.

Totally agree with SWS here. Barron was excellent pre-injury, and significantly better than the much lauded Raskin. If we sell him, it must mean we see better from the guys who have come in, like Neil. As supporters, we haven't yet, but we also haven't played a proper game.
If Barron goes, I think we might regret it. If we win the league and the likes of Neil are brilliant, then we won't.
If he was foreign, I'm certain many on here would be saying how he's the next Gatusso.

I really like him, but with the abundance of CMs now, where would u rank him, SWS, in our team, esp with 3 new ones in his position? I don't see him as an EPL player, tbh, probably more top end Championship, so would maybe be good for a season at West Ham, but then they'd be looking for more.

Walter, the majority of this squad are not good enough, including Barron, as proven with last season's disaster. We need to get rid of these duds asap. The big question is who's going to take them off our hands.
Devlin has shown more grit and fight, and won more tackles in 90 mins in a Rangers jersey than Barron altogether. I really don't get this obsession with Barron. He's hopeless.

Look, some on here really rate Barron, while others don't. I do not have an issue with those who rate him. But answer me this. Is Barron the calibre of player we need to get us back to the top? Not a chance! Since we were last successful, during the gaffer's second stint, we have won the league only once since then, and during those times, we have had a lot better midfielders than Barron, and still been unsuccessful.

Barron played well when he eventually broke into the side, which was during an injury crisis, was it not? He then had a spell injured, and when he returned to fitness, struggled for much game time. Rohl was wrong as well then? If you take away his very short spell last year, when he played very well, Hibs away stands out in memory. He's been at best imo bang average. I'm not on his back constantly, but as he keeps getting mentioned with WHU, as I've mentioned before, he's not any better than what we have just now.
The 2 youngsters who got game time last year are every bit athletic and at it as Barron and better on the ball imo. In the unlikely event he is signed for WHU, I'll get right behind him, but I'm pretty sure they're looking for better than Barron. Good luck to the boy. I've said before on here I think he's tailor made for the Serie A and I hope he ends up there.

I always base my opinion of a player's ability by asking myself one simple question. Is this player capable of winning us the title? If the answer is no, then they are not good enough. Unfortunately, the answer no applies to the majority of our current squad. Title winning teams are our standard. Anything below that is failure.

There are worse things a player can do than running around giving 100%, granted he is limited but played his heart out. Sometimes you need that. Do we need better? Yes, I'd agree we do, but until we do, I wouldn't be so quick to get rid unless, of course, a good offer comes in & there is the Scottish aspect, we're not exactly bursting with Scottish lads.

I took it someone was posting it after the club had made a statement.
Upon checking just now, I can't see anything official from the club around Barron at all.

I don't dislike Barron in any way, but he most certainly is not the player some are making him out to be. Running around all the time does not mean he is a good footballer or what we need to succeed. He most definitely is not, has not been and never will be better than Raskin! Right now, if a bid comes in for him, he will be allowed to move if the bid matches the price decided by the club.
Exactly the same as every other player.

Barron isn't poor, and I like him, but we have upgrades in Devlin/Neil. Better for him to play in Italy - it will improve him, and we get funds in to help get some creative players in.
He had a good spell before the injury, but it was exactly that. A spell, and a move will be better for him.

Devlin got a bit more than just tackling to be fair, seems to read the game to get there in tackle in first place and seems to lay off the right pass afterwards, early days tho.

What I noticed and hadn't appreciated until yesterday was how quick Devlin was across the midfield. He covers the first 5-10 yards rapidly, and that's what gets him into the positions to make those interceptions/slide tackles.

Bbj, if we don't win the league you can't pin that on Cammy Devlin, behave yourself. 😂 Hearts lost the league last season, but Devlin was superb for them and was reckoned to have been the best midfielder in Scotland last season. 🤔 For us to win the league, all our players will have to be at the vast majority of the time, mate, and Devlin could have a terrific season for Rangers and we might still not win the league, so that statement doesn't hold up and is miles off the mark.

At Rangers, you are meant to be a winner, and I don't care how one individual player does.
He could be excellent, but what does that matter if we win nothing! If we don't win the league, how do we determine if he was excellent? How many tackles he puts in? How many yellow cards he gets? Or if he contributes to us being a winning team again?
