A lot of people changing their minds over dessers now…too many people jump on the bandwagon and slate a player but when they sit back and watch you find out he's one of the only few giving 100% each week, Dessers up top with Gasman and Antman, Dowell as the 10, goals will flow.

I've never been Dessers greatest fan, but at this point I'm not sure we can let him leave before signing a replacement. He clearly goes better with RMs system than Danilo and it's not yet clear if Igamane will play.

I've never seen a player split opinion so evenly before. I'm in the camp that would sell for any reasonable offer tbh. Use the money and bring in someone who can at least score 20 league goals - something Dessers hasn't been able to achieve.

he showed on Tuesday he was able to play the system much better than Danilo. Igamane has disappeared completely from the scene.
I would be surprised if the club and Russell Martin decide they can afford to lose their top goalscorer for the last 2 years. do we now have to rely on a completely different front 3 with no experience of Scottish football.

There's a group of us continually on here who've always given big support and appreciation to big CD9 and always stated we rated the guy and i hope to god we don't sell him, just like i've always said on here ?I personally think dessers will stay with Rangers and i'd be absolutely delighted to keep the big fella. ?

If dessers is sold let's hope they have a striker lined up to come in straight away as I don't rate Danilo and either Hamza is injuried or he is one of the players who RM wants out cause he has an attitude.
I would much rather play a young striker from the B team than play Danilo.

20 league goals is better than 1 in 2, it would be a struggle getting that type of player in for Dessers fee, young talent for future profit yes but really can't see him scoring 20 league goals, I still reckon Dessers would score that this season with chances provided from wide players and especially if he's talking penalties, also believe so would Igamane without penalties but looking very much like he wants away.

dessers was the top scorer in the league last season with 18, that turns into more if he takes pens which he may well do now tav will be getting less game time. Is it still worth replacing him?

And you also probably right, and his coaches, Billy Dodds, Neil McCann and Alex Rae are wrong in saying he isn't a natural finisher and doesn't hold the ball up. And they are also probably wrong when they say his runs are too easy to play offside also!

For me I like Dessers because his attitude is great and he's very reliable, playing week in week out whilst others acquainted themselves with the treatment table: another plus for Dessers is that he created a lot of his chances himself! I'd like to see how many he could score playing regularly with Antman and Gassa. Even if we brought Turgeman in, Dessers would be a good option for some league and cup games and a 70min sub.

20 goals is a fair prerequisite for a striker, he scored 29. Unsure why you'd be picky over 18 of them being in the league and it's better to get rid of the spfl top goal scorer and replace him for the sake of two goals.

Zikos we have only had 5 or 6 strikers in this century who have scored more than 20 goals in a season so it isn't that easy. I think only 2 of those did it in consecutive seasons.
BTW do you mean Billy Dodds who this week was saying we should keep him.
and sell him for a striker Sky Sports say we are considering and who didn't score 15 goals last year in a poorer league. so if 20 is the pre-requisite do we only buy players who have scored that. or do we go for this unknown quality called potential to be our lead striker.

Personally I'm not interested in other goals and competitions, for me they take care of themselves.
League goals is what wins League titles. 18 last season and 14 the season before, for a guy that plays most weeks, who's game is being and out and out striker, on £30k per week is not enough.
Those are Simon Murray numbers, who had been fighting relegation the last 2 seasons and is probably on 10% of Dessers wage.

I've been firmly in the pro Dessers camp for the last couple of years, love the guys attitude and work rate with a decent goals return and always available. Unfortunately I think it makes sense if we get 4 or 5 m at his age and reinvest. Would love him to stay though.

I have always supported Dessers and want him to stay. The issue is people blame him for not scoring. He scores plenty. Its not always down to him ( Yes he is the main striker I know) This issue is the other forward thinking players did not chip in enough goals. If they had I don't think we would be having this conversation. Now we have these two wingers they could make massive difference. Add more. More goals from midfield and the outlook is different. Its not all on Dessers. Dessers does so much more than score goals but people just don't see the bigger game .

I'll be gobsmacked if Rangers flog him this season, I think it would be a stupid course of action.
I've always appreciated what he brings to the team (as many others on here have done) - and this is not just because of his heroics in the midweek game. Many posters are using that performance as if it was a "one off", to ridicule people who applauded it, saying it has caused a new Dessers's love-in.
You just can't win with people who refuse to accept facts.

For info, since the SPL was formed 25 years ago, the 20 goal mark has been reached 34 times. So yes most seasons the top goal scorer has 20+ goals. And most seasons the player leading the list has worn green and white hoops!
But yeah, there's no correlation between goals and league titles.
