With the Sterling incident again.

If the players were all out together at kong, rooftop restaurant and bar place I've been.

Nice cocktail type place to take the missus.

If the players were all there. They all, or most, would've drove home.

Wouldn't that mean most were likely over the limit?

Being open minded yous would maybe think yes

That means there's more than Sterling done it,
he just got caught

Lastly police keep saying "the driver" does that suggest as previously reported that there was other passengers in car.

We were told Fernandes and another were in car is the rumour.

08 Jan 2026 03:18:38
So because Sterling was driving other players were? Sounds like you are trying to make excuses and they are no excuse.

08 Jan 2026 04:14:37
Rangers just beat their main rivals and Sterling chose to go out, get drunk, and then drive his car. He could have hurt himself or someone else. He was caught at 1:25am. IT shows a complete lack of professionalism. He's 26 years old and knows the difference between right and wrong. He's a millionaire and can afford a taxi home. There's no excuse for what he did.

People wanted to slag of Todd Cantwell for using TikTok. Drunk driving is a lot worse as I'm sure you will agree. The question is, where does he go from here? I'm not sure how the club will handle it. I doubt they will even comment on it since it's a criminal matter.

I just can't believe he was so stupid.

08 Jan 2026 04:21:11
He won't be the first and certainly won't be the last, over a dozen players playing in Scotland right now that has a dd charge, same as any line of employment.

08 Jan 2026 04:46:05
Doesn't matter who it is a absolutely no excuse for anyone who drinks and drives ?Loved ones, family, friends have been so sadly taken from us because of mindless people doing this and it definitely angers me ?.

08 Jan 2026 05:46:30
I'm sure the other side's captain done the same years ago and got banned the boy has made a mistake we move on from it.

08 Jan 2026 06:18:07
I can't believe Rohl played him the next day, that's what's leaving a sore taste in my mouth. I lost a little bit of respect for Rohl for doing that. I'm not in the camp of sack him or he should never play for us again but he shouldn't have played on Wednesday in my opinion if he has been charged with that offence.

08 Jan 2026 07:06:29
You can go out and not drink are we sure he was drinking before we a accuse the guy of drink driving / also possible to crash a car when sober.

08 Jan 2026 07:25:33
Does it not question whether or not he was charged with DUI. Would the club have played him if he were. Itll take more than the red tops to convince me and I'll wait for an official statement from the club, player, police Scotland or procurator fiscal.
Anywhere else its just speculation.

08 Jan 2026 07:33:11
Lets hope gets dealt with a fine of wages then back in amoungst it. We need him in the side. Am sure Rohl sees that. For reference anybody wanting him sold immediately. Gazza is in the Rangers hall of fame ??.

08 Jan 2026 07:39:22
Mystar just because other players have done it doesn't make it ok.

Fans making excuses and the same fans wouldn't be making these excuses if it was Matondo or Dowell for an example.

Just shows some fans have morals and some don't.

08 Jan 2026 07:55:14
No excuse for someone drink driving when they EASILY can afford a taxi - lucky he didn't hurt or kill anyone -IMHO. No footballer is above the law and we have seen many over the years get into this scenario and hopefully club put out statement that suitably addresses the situation and he gets reprimanded appropriately.

08 Jan 2026 08:11:02
Folk taking the moral high ground and my cash would be on them making a worse mistake in life than driving under the influence, that's is me thinking it's in any acceptable and i wouldn't even think about driving a motor vehicle under influence, but " SUPPOSEDLY " Sterling has.

08 Jan 2026 08:12:18
It's absolutely unacceptable to drink and drive but I am keeping my powder dry to its out in open properly.
Charged and found guilty are two different things.
We are getting snippets and to be honest I am not sure what the full truth is.
Florida not doubting your info but waiting for full info and judgment.

08 Jan 2026 08:26:16
That's where by head is JFM, I've not seen another official from the police or the club saying it's DUI. I read something online from the sun and the daily record, two news outlets that I will never trust.

I can't honestly believe he was charged with this offence (DUi) after the Celtic game and 3 days before an Aberdeen game and Rohl thought 'f**k it, I'll play him anyway'.

It's just not adding up and I think there's more information to come. Let's see.

08 Jan 2026 08:27:45
Sterling will be punished by the Law and by the Club.

A very stupid mistake to make if true.

I doubt he will be sacked though. He will be fined and maybe suspended by the club and then dealt with by the police.

I just never understand the logic of i am going to drive after drinking. How ignorant.

08 Jan 2026 08:35:40
Agree Dado. Rohl needs to explain that one.

08 Jan 2026 08:36:54
Correct Blue -Floyd, irrespective of what has actually happened, he could have BOUGHT a taxi on a weeks salary and win bonus!

08 Jan 2026 08:40:04
Police Scotland has never mentioned about him being charged with drunk driving, it now seems everyone is believing the media, well a very large percentage certainly do.
What I find very strange in this situation is why phone the police if under influence?

08 Jan 2026 08:47:14
Guys, is only the Daily Rhebel, The Sun, and the Evening Tims that are reporting it as DUI?
Three of our biggest haters, are painting a story about a Rangers player, making it sound worse than it might actually be.
A few days after we go above 'their' team, in the league!
Until I hear officially, I'll chose to believe he wasn't DUI.

08 Jan 2026 08:48:27
The reality is it's a shocking decision from Sterling. There is no defence of the actions he has taken. I would also look at Fernandez and Matondo for getting in the car with him rather than stopping him.

I had a mate drunk drive because he wanted to take a wee tramp home from a party and never spoke to the boy again. I will say it wasn't purely based on the DD.

Sterling is a professional and representative of our proud club. His actions smear the name of this great institution and bring negative press. He should be fined heavily by the club and made to publicly apologise for his actions. The rest of his punishment should come from the law with a driving ban and fine. Then that should be the end of it.

Obviously this is just my opinion and fine with people disagreeing.

08 Jan 2026 09:02:56
Id prefer to wait until I knew the truth before I took the moral high ground here, let he who is without sin and all that.
If it turns out to be true it is obviously unacceptable, then the guilty party should go through a disciplinary process as well as a legal one take whatever punishment is deemed appropriate.

Not being able to do your job is not an option, whether you're a nurse, a footballer, or work for the empire.

08 Jan 2026 09:07:01
Strom Rangers as a club then surely have zero morals if they have gazza in hall of fame after knocking 7 shades out his wife and amoungst other things? Is that what your sayin? Fortunately dujon or nobody has been hurt am sure he's learned his lesson fron silly mistake.

08 Jan 2026 09:11:40
Seems all a bit over the top, so guys has done wrong and will be punished if it all turns out to be true.
In any other profession, your employer does not fine you or sack you for something that occurs outside work.

As to source of information on here, I would say highly unprofessional if serving police officer thinks it OK to pass on information relating to ongoing investigation.

08 Jan 2026 09:21:56
Amazes me how people consistently state they do not TRUST the red tops yet continue to read their guff and use it to slander the club/players or anyone for that matter.

I bet most people in Scotland have had 1 beer and driven at some point in their lives or driven the morning after a heavy session. Especially years ago.

And saying he could have killed/injured someone is the same as saying well Celtic could have been up 3 or 4 nil at have time. Coulda, shoulda, woulda but it never so drop it.

I'm not making excuses for Sterling but the fall from that high horse is very high for some people.

Not to mention no one actually knows the full story yet.

08 Jan 2026 09:30:49
Certainly don't condone if Sterling is proven to be drink driving. However, "people in glass houses…. ", I'm sure there are a few hypocrites posting on here who have driven over the limit to some degree or driven under the influence of drugs. STOP before posting and think!

08 Jan 2026 10:09:39
Please stop judging players, those without sin cast the first stone.
We should protect our own, those who state 'he should be punished ', well please remember, innocent until proven guilty.
It's a football rumours page not a guilty rumours page.

08 Jan 2026 10:17:40
Dado? Maybe he played him because he didn't have the full facts at that time.

08 Jan 2026 10:29:21
Before starting this, let me state clearly that driving after drinking is madness, wrong and anyone doing so deserves to be punished. Now, having said that, some comments here are OTT, if you're waiting for Police Scotland to confirm anything, you are looking for an organisation to breach GDPR guidelines.

Yes, leaks will come out and these will be available in the red tops, so to claim these are false and written by "haters" is childish madness. Until this goes to trial, we will not know the facts. He has been charged, therefore there is documented proof that he was over the limit, breathalyser and blood tests I would guess.

What isn't clear is just how far over the limit he was. I see above that players were allegedly in a cocktail bar, therefore drinks being mixed. I am not trying to offer an excuse, but the driver may have just been slightly over the limit after carefully selecting one drink, which was mixed stronger than usual by an over zealous barman, perhaps also celebrating a win.

Again, something we will never know and also not in any is it an excuse. It won't even be taken into account when this goes to court. I have no doubt that the player will receive a ban, a fine and possibly a community service order. I also have no doubt that he will receive a punishment from the club. He isn't the first person/player to do this, I can guarantee he won't be the last either.

One final time, I am not excusing this incident or trying to brush it under the carpet. I am not trying to defend the player, I am just here to give my opinion. We will move on from this and the player will continue his career.

08 Jan 2026 10:50:08
Let he without sin cast the first stone. It must be the anonymity that encourages people to act holier than thou.

08 Jan 2026 11:04:15
Morning all I'm a 1st time poster although I've been following the site for a while. I just felt the need to respond to the comments concerning Dujon Sterling. I'm a retired firefighter and I know the carnage that drunk driving can cause.

However as far as I'm aware he's been charged with "driving offences " this doesn't mean he was drinking before his crash and I sincerely hope this is the case it could be speeding we don't know and until we do we shouldn't be so quick to hang him out to dry.

08 Jan 2026 12:06:39
I have read these articles and they are as clear as mud. The language used in them seems deliberately vague. The only actual facts in them are that he was charged with a driving offence.

Now they may be correct but even if he was charged the devil is in the detail. Did he go to the pub get pissed and drive home and was 10 times over the limit or had one drink 10 hours before and was marginally over. Can be appalling behaviour or bit of poor judgement.

There is a big difference in the actual details which no one actually knows and definitely could not determine from those pathetic attempts at journalism I read.

08 Jan 2026 12:27:22
Welcome vvv13 ??.

08 Jan 2026 12:31:53
Mystar it isn't strange him phoning the police as surely his name is associated with the car and if he runs away from the scene, it's only going to look worse than it already is mate.

08 Jan 2026 12:35:29
Glasgow Live - "Police were called to the one-vehicle crash on the city's West Graham Street at around 1.25am on Sunday, January 4. The 26-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.

Our sister title, the Daily Record, understands the charges relate to drink-driving."

I do find that lots of so called news outlets and journos these days just make stuff up as it grabs peoples attention. but we will not know for sure until the real truth comes out.

08 Jan 2026 12:52:51
I guess it doesn't say he phoned, might have been the next car that passed.

Perhaps Terney final caught up with him?

08 Jan 2026 14:15:33
If the press have got that wrong, Dujon will bankrupt them with his defamation suit.

08 Jan 2026 14:55:00
BB4 leaving the scene of an accident holds less penalty though than DUI. so to call them shows some sense of moral code.

this isn't a defence but surprisingly few people know how many units of alcohol it takes to be over the 50mg drink drive limit. for some that can be the equivalent of 1 pint of beer (175ml glass of wine as well). if as reported he was 3 times that it would be 3 pints of beer. if the driver is on cocktails then the alcohol content in these depend on the drink and on the bar they are made in.
It also takes an hour for each unit to be processed by your body so 10 pints on day of game by a supporter and then driving the next morning (even mid-morning) could still put you over limit.
so the only way to be sure is to not drink at all and drive. as I say not a defence but just showing how easy it is to err and still feel okay to drive.

08 Jan 2026 16:12:42
They could have suspended him as some companies do, pending the outcome. However football has a morality of its own, a bit like politics. Leave it there. Oh I'm not He'll be punished but I'm not asking for him to be sacked.

08 Jan 2026 17:46:24
Rangers hall of famer and record goal scorer super ally also done with drink driving while at the club??.
