I agree with mcCausland but I would rather we had one of our players there. the plan must be to play him RW as otherwise that stunts Curtis progression and we also have Gassama there. I don see Moore being like Cerny or Sima where we had an experienced winger to play who was better quality than we can afford.
If he is to be first choice then who is stand in for the RW. can't see Antman if he signs being that so have we loaned a 17YO to give him minutes and experience. we lost a 16YO winger to Newcastle as he saw the progression being better. I know people will say he is talented etc but can't see the real benefit to the team.

Angus, we lost two kids to Newcastle due to money, nieter will play in epl for Newcastle.
The top English clubs are hoovering up 16/ 17 year old as the will count as home grown, sell for a few million as it is free money for ffp.

I quite like our use of loan market in general but the young spurs is a bit on the young side to expect an impact from him. Know nothing about him but would assume he is talented, but at his age I would also assume he is inconsistent.
I don't think we get much benefit from dealing with that inconsistency for another clubs player. Most fans have zero tolerance of our own players being inconsistent so I don't really get the point of going for such a young player on loan.

I love developing our youth players more than anyone, but I couldn't care if we sign another clubs young player and shunted our own youth player if it means he improves our 11 and squad. People need to get over that. The fact is we must win, and win fast. It's what we have to do, and signing the likes of Moore definitely increases the quality of our squad to close the gap between our first 11 and the bench, without question.
I really like Curtis, but I would have loaned him out anyway because I think it's important that he plays football more than anything. Having seen the impact he's had, he could be one of 5 first team wingers that I think Martin might go into the season with. For example…
LW - Gassama and Moore
RW- Antman (potentially) and Raj-Sakyi (Potentially.
Injuries happen, so there's space in the squad for Curtis.
Curtis, Gassama, Moore and Antman can play on both wings too, but I've named them in their natural positions, because I hate square pegs in round holes, and in recent seasons, we've had too many square pegs.
Win things is the number one thing this club has to do. Developing our youth is also important, but you don't get trophies for that at the end of the day.

Star I agree with that; just an opinion that I would rather give game time to one of our players in this case than giving minutes to another teams developing player. What happens when/ if we sign Antman.
John I know it is for money now. but imagine we tell the lads they go into and around 1st team squad and will get minutes if they show the potential. they will then attract clubs and get the move they desire. or go and sit at Newcastle and not get game time. we need to change something or we will just keep losing our own 'Mikey Moore'. i'd rather play our Curtis than another team's Moore.

Loan players are great fillers for positions we cannot afford or have a player of equal standard to play, in my opinion this will continue every season until we as in Scottish league set up have a system to bring though young players in a competitive league.
Our association with Raith Rovers? ? Is a good starting point
We are at the bottom of the hill guys we need to walk before we run but as long as it is upwards then the outcome will be positive.

John this is exactly whaf i was saying last year about keeping players for three years then leyting them go english teams are doing tge numbers game and we should too thr more we have three years and move on the more domestic trained options there will be out there

Also feel mixkey moore not regular case as real good player i'd normally agree with everyone on youth angle but this boy miles ahead of any of our youth.

TJM1995, Moore is naturally and LW, like Curtis but both can play on the right wing too, but naturally, their first choice position is LW. Probably the same as Gassama too. I think naturally he's more Left wing but equally can play on the right. You get the best out of players consistently playing them in their natural positions. It's no wonder we've struggled domestically over the years.
Still haunts me to this day, that Lammers was signed to play in the 10 position by Beale, and during Lammers' interview when he signed (at Ibrox) he said upfront was his best position ?.

Sorry Angus disagree if we want to win trophies and compete on all fronts we can't go into the season with our 4 winger options including a youth player and someone who's been injured the full time he's been here. If we get a couple injuries and let's be honest we probably will it would not be fair for Curtis to be starting every single game. He needs to be protected so he doesn't end up like Leon King. Even if we have 5 options I'm sure he will still get plenty of game time due to injuries etc.

Reality Curtis won't play 50/ 60 games nor will Moore. If signed both will see plenty minutes imo.

Tim played 2/ 3s of his 21 games last season as LW. but is said to be able to play anywhere across front 3 but his club obviously think he is LW.

John I know you do follow the youths but I had to check and see; both did get B team inclusion last season at their young age so there was a progression for them. I also knew that they could sign professional terms up here but can't down south until 17YO. They also can't be included in European A list I understood until they have 3 years (I think) training down south.
so I think you were right in that it can only be for the cash as at their age B team games with a view to getting them around the 1st team squad would be all they would get. The issue is how do Newcastle (and Spurs) get these young lads to that level where they want to go there.

I don't care who we sign as long as we win the league if that boy helps win us the league and Curtis gets less game time then it's fine by me. What happened to we need to trust the manager? Curtis has potential but at the moment that's all it is MaCusland broke into team everyone was talking the same way about him as they are Curtis now.

I actually see where your coming from Angus and although moore is a special talent, i actually agree with you as regarding moore we'll be part of his development for spurs and no option of signing him permanently wheres how much game time can you guarantee a young 17 year coming to play in another league with a different styled league to what he's used to altogether ? SWS that is all I am saying. our 2 options were Curtis and Gassama. Matondo won't be here I hope. so buy two RWs with one who can play on left as well and use Curtis as sparingly as his youth deserves. 4 gives us cover and we still have to buy two RWs. Aasgaard can also play LW. don't see the logic in it tbh.

For me I like the move for Moore. He comes and does well it benefits us, Spurs and the player. Will also enhance our clubs reputation for bigger leagues to trust us with their top talent. Could bring some exciting players to our club albeit on loan but would make us an inviting option for talented young players we want to sign permanently.

If so surely its at a loss, current value 3 mill and having barely played he will go for less if we are genuinly looking at moving him on.
The same season we bought him for 4 mill euros, makes no sense when he can play LW or RW and we are short on Right wingers.
