If that's true then at least clubs will now know they can't hold us to ransom for our players the new guys have cash and not dependent on getting lowball offers for our players were already looking a stronger club ?.

It just seems a bit ott ie the 20 million valuation. he's got promise but he's yet to hit top form consistently. Being shunted out of position to accommodate Dessers says a lot. I think anything north of 12 is great business.

Hope this one doesn't drag on and on. £15m would be a good return on a guy we spent something like £1.5-2m a year ago and who has scored 16 goals for us. It's not far of £1m per goal profit and I'd prefer we bank it and reinvest than hold out for a few million more while risking it collapsing and having an unhappy player on our hands.

Well according to both clubs (us and Lille) no formal bid of anything was ever made, or hasn't been yet anyway. Now it could be that informal talks were held and we have let them know how much we'd accept, and whatever that figure was/ is has scared Lille off, but don't think it has reached the point of knocking back a bid yet ?.

We are sticking to our valuation and we want 19 to 20 mill euros for Igamane, was posted about a week on here.
Lille have just lost Jonathan David (45m Euros) to Juventus and Angel Gomes (20m Euros) to Marseille both were free agents.
They had 7 CFs, Jonathan David left, and they sold Andrej Ilic to union berlin, Akpom returned to Ajax.
They have 4 currently
Signed Giroud on a free.
Youngster Dago returned from loan.
Bayo returned from loan.
young star Pardo is their best Cf.
no doubt they want at least 1 more quality CF.
I reckon they will pay the 19-20 mill euros we are holding out for.

£15 million definitely seems fair but suppose it all depends on how the deal is structured and as the other poster said it's maybe 15million euros and we're holding out for 20 million euros.

We are in no hurry to sell, another season with us would be good especially with more quality around him and played as CF he will score plenty, perhaps we could get 25-30 mill after one solid season.
for me he is worth more to us right now as we go all out to dethrone Celtic and stack some cash in Europe from a good run.
There will still be plenty interest if he ends up staying for 1 more season.
A cashed up team might be desperate for a quality young CF if one of there big money stars gets knacked mid season, and we could cash in big time.
20 mill or he stays for another season, still has four more years on his contract, and can only get better.

Totally agree that £15 million would be a fair price (no euros) .
As a club, we need to stand firm on this valuation, and I suspect this is reason things are not progressing on this potential tranfer with Lille.
Realistically, unless we get other clubs to consider that's a fair price, and agree to meet that valuation, there won't be any further progress unfortunately.

£15M is good money, however how much will he be worth to the club if its his hills that qualify for the UCL. This will all be taken into account when valuing a player.

Is this a case of us wanting a certain amount of profit from the sale? I'm certainly not in the know, but I think I remember reading on here that Iga's previous club have got a healthy sell on on any profit we make off future sale. Meaning if it was €15m, that's €12m profit, but maybe his last club are due €6m of that if it were 30% sell on. That would mean The Famous are getting about £5m profit on the player after shelling out £2m.
I know a profits a good result after recent transfer activity, but maybe it's just not worth the short term money for the potential profit that could be made with another 20 goal season.

Players are only worth what somebody is willing to pay. Very few of the players across Europe and particularly in England are worth the fees that are paid for them and prices being "fair " isn't a guideline . If we can now afford to knock back £15 million and hold out for more that's a huge step forward for us . Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Hamza spend another year with us .

I think 15 mill is a good fee with a sell on % also would be a great bit of business for a young lad who yes has loads of potential but still very raw. Wud allow us to get Turgeman in and have a few quid to invest sumwhere else. We only paid 1.5 - 2 mill for him a year ago BUT i also agreevthat Lille just made an absolute fortune so can also see why we would hold out. Doubt 20 but even if they increased it by another 1 or 2 mill still a great return.

I think it's more than that Fork, I think Lille are offering c50% of the fee as guaranteed with the remainder as ons.

If info that EHL has is accurate then we are only getting about 7.5m with the rest in add ons. We shouldn't be accepting that. unless the add ons are merely a formality.
70% as an upfront is around 10.5m that's assuming the fee is £15m and not €15m.

I'd sell for the £15 million, but knowing our luck, Lille will end up walking away and we'll be left with an unhappy player.
