Shankland a couple of seasons ago yes, no brainer, he has been poor this season, do we take the chance he can regain that form, I just don't know, who knows he may or may not do well, not much of an outlay though.

Can't believe the amount of posts we had about Shankland before and the debate around him and. Is it actually looks he may coming after all ?
So just to clarify what's everyone thoughts on him now that he may well be a Rangers player soon ?
I'll be honest I've not really watched him this season as I didn't think we would be going for him but EHl I think if I'm right has says we're definitely interested which is good enough for me.

Guys, it's not uncommon for lawrence shankland to attend Rangers games at ibrox when hearts aren't playing ? He's a big Rangers supporter and i wouldn't read too much into it, that he was at ibrox on thursday night ?.

Personally I'd take him in a heart beat as an experienced back up for the likes of Igamane.
As much as I rate Danilo, with his injury record and salary - I'm sure Shankland would contribute more over the course of a season for a lot less.

TT no one hates Shankland some just don't think he is good enough.
Shanks has had one good season in the league and has been absolutely rank rotten this season and a 17 year old keeping him out the team.

He has had 1 good season and this isn't it. offering him a ' third of what he expected ', are you having a laugh. whatever it was + signing on fee will be a lot more than he's getting at Hearts, for what will likely be his last big contract.

John, do u think perhaps what we're doing is signing the best of the league players to play back up to the 1st picks. Makes a lot of sense imo. Not going to take us places in Europe but they know the league and what it takes to win domestically something these players seem to struggle with.
Not as if this is going to be our stat players. And we won't sign them all.

Interestingly John, I had a conversation with McCann and Dodds during the week and they both highlighted that we lacked any real identity when it came to Scottish football and that they thought there were players playing in Scotland that could make a huge difference.
Dodds actually compared Shankland to himself.

I don't mind Shankland and he's a decent player, however, if he is (emphasis on is), the calibre of player we are genuinely interested in, alongside the other names getting posted yesterday, then the tims can start celebrating 5 in a row right now. Just hand them number 5 alongside number 4 because those players are never winning us the league!

As long as the wages are not ridiculous, don't see why we shouldn't sign Shankland, a Scottish International on a free transfer and a Rangers fan to boot, helps us in a number of different ways . Even if he's one of three options with Danilo and Igamane we would be better off that we currently are . He has played off the main striker this season and that gives us another option too.
I suppose it will all come down to the budget, will we have money to splash out on a higher level of player and will our wage structure be bumped up a bit by the hew owners.

We are going to lose a lot of players in summer and a couple of players from the SPL for the squad is needed, Shankland been playing a no 10 this season to be fair on his goals for, his hold up play is good and could be handy off bench for the no9 slot, as a said we could lose a dozen players and some experience at low cost will be needed to get the numbers up.

He's no only had one good season storm/ Bar 31 last season, 29 season before that. He's been playing as a 10 most of season, so he's not been kept out of team with a 17yr old, he's played over 3000 mins of football. I think because he wouldn't sign a new deal, hearts were thinking of themselves and rightly put that young boy up front to get him exposure, thinking we'll take better care of the guys that want to be here. Just an opinion.

i coukd virtually guarantee goals from the bench, form is temporary, his heart isn't at hearts anymore, it happens to many players, doesn't mean he lost th3 ability to score goals, and again, m sh@nks is a very clever player in my opinion, with a lovely passing gam3,

This season is the most important though if you claim he would take the chances Dessers has missed surely. and last year his shot conversion rate was only 3-4% better than Dessers as he took 100 shots to score his 24 league goals. not trying to start an argument trying to reflect the stats rather than an opinion.

If we had signed shankland last year when we were ahead in the leauge we WOULDVE WON THE LEAUGE remember dessers misses especially his performance at Ross county shankland would've scored a hat trick that day terrible decision not to just pay the money to get him short sighted and gifted them another leauge.
