Most of us knew Russell Martin wouldn't move to sign lawrence shankland AyrshireMurphy, as shankland isn't mobile enough to play martin's style of play. We'll only signing a striker if and when one of dessers, igamane or danilo is sold. I don't think dessers or danilo will leave and danilo if he's over his injury issues, could easily be a very important player in martin's team. The only striker we'll sell i believe is igamane, with then turgeman being signed as his replacement.

Like most of us have stated on here and storm in particular, dessers a much better striker than shankland and i totally agree. Why would we sell dessers and replace him with shankland, no danger for me.

Walter, I don't think anyone said Shankland would be better option than Dessers.
Just thinking about this window, we really are in desperate need to move on players that aren't good enough. They're keeping us back from signing new players.

SWS and John I completely agree with both or your points and share the same belief.
Just glad the Shankland chat can finally after years stop. I think Igamane will go soon and Turgeman will come in. I have no sources but believe that Dessers will leave later in the window, most likely to Feyenoord and we will replace him with someone cheaper on less wages.
Again not a rumour or from a source about Dessers. Just my belief.

Mark he's now Hearts highest paid player club captain and has a shot at going to world cup with Scotland he might have got a slightly higher wage at Rangers just 2 sit on a bench not every player would be happy with that a would prefer Shanks to face Celtic for Hearts then sit on bench 3rd pick for Rangers against celtic.

Last 5 Managers never wanted him but interestingly we've been starved of silverware in that timeframe.
Maybe he could have done a job for us at some point over the last few seasons and there's a small chance we might have been a little more successful domestically.
It's not going to happen now so let's hope we have good forwards incoming to replace the forwards that are outgoing and he wasn't required going forward.
We will never know if he could have done a job for us in the past though.

Shankland will score 20+ at Hearts this season if played at no9, as for not coming to be third choice a think a decent signing on fee and a couple of grand more a week would sway my head if it's Rangers you are going too especially when last decent contract, even at third choice you back yourself to get on pitch every week, still think all three strikers could leave this window.

CO2 Dessers scored 51 goals in last 2 seasons so having a forward who would score hasn't been our problem. yes others will argue that he misses lots of chances and doesn't score in the important games but a quick look at stats belittle those claims. so not sure what Shankland would have done more than this. would he have scored 40. nothing against the guy and agree he might have been. good option but he wouldn't have made us more successful.

It's clear to see not many here have actually played the game. Five managers may have not signed Shankland, but I guarantee results would have been better with him. We would have won trophies if we signed him in my honest view. Shankland would have fitted in well, we should have signed him when we had the chance.
