I don't think our squad as a whole were up for that fight today which is not acceptable, that is the bare minimum you would except. It is clear to see we have some players that just don't cut it and can't do the basics very well. Sakala would be top of my list to sell he just won't get any better and imo, uncoachable.

We have the experience in the defence where it should be, we need sound solid calm heads at the back as we start play from there that isn't issue with our current backline of Tavernier / Goldson / Helander / Souttar / Barisic. All 26 - 32 age range, i'd take gilmour and Cifuentes over any midfielder anyones named on here as a potential upgrade to our midfield.

Has he had proper experience in a DOF role?
Has he dealt with agents, negotiated contracts. Built networks of useful contacts for a role like this? Dealt with press/ shareholders etc etc?
I don't fully understand the limitations of his previous roles but assisting the DOF at his club compared to becoming a DOF at a huge club like ours sounds like a massive jump up to me.
I don't know anything tho really so could be absolutely made for the role.

It sounds like he has only been in the role for a year, but if he's good enough that shouldn't be a problem.
I do feel that particular role would be very demanding in many ways for whoever gets it, and think experience will probably be preferred.
But it would be nice to see him come back, positives would be have a good rangers man in the role with a lot of drive and ambition etc.

I would love to see Laudrup back at rangers as DOF he understands our club back to front, has a lot to say about rangers and the current squads, and would definately clean up the squad in a healthy way, aswell as bring in the quality we need.
Neither Weir nor Nerlinger can say they get what rangers is about on the level Laudrup gets it.
I have no doubts Brian would lock kent and morelos down on new contracts, and along with beale get them back to there best.
Goldson and Hagi should both be unleashed against celtic and rested / training until that game when we knock costco-coglu rovers clean out of the cup, guaranteed they will come into that game over confident and that will be there downfall when we rip them apart on our way to the final which we will win.
I feel forest went for wilson to help them after there relegated so i don't see why kent or morelos would play for a championship team, when they can give us there best next season and of course our next european campaign.
Theres a bigger chance of gerrard going to forest than kent or alfie.

Can we draw any analogy between Rangers signing SPL players such as Lewis Ferguson and us signing Derek Mcinnes or other Scottish based managers like a Steve Clark for example. I've been guilty of the snobbery angle and proved wrong on a number of occasions in recent years, are managers any different. FYI Muscat is my favoured option, although after listening to Jordon on TS I would not be against Warnock.
On another topic, interesting listening to SJ about Rangers, he thought it was getting run at boardroom level with a small club mentality and we were not taking full advantage of out clubs status and embarrassment of riches.

imo Robbie Mc and Leon King are nowhere near good enough to be first pick, they would need to displace JB, Connor, Davies and Soutter. Rice seems to have potential and could be drip fed time and could make the break through same with Lovelace. Yefko i'm 50/ 50, as a LB prob not as we want fast attacking capability from that position and not sure he has that, as a CH is he going to displace the players I mentioned before, dunno. imo Rice then LL have the best chance and that's all we should expect, it is incredibly difficult to produce your own talent from the Sco pool of players.
