Dutch outlet reporting Danilo deal will not go ahead now with signing of Dessers. Shame as I'd have liked both but let's see we have had a lot of conflicting reports about Dessers being on of so this might rumble on. Maybe have to move a few on after Cifuentes signing before adding more.

However if Colak is moving on the Danilo signing may be a possibility and i wouldn’t rule that out.

Nizzle we Seem to have brought in some decent players so far. Kent, Morelos, helander, mcgregor, arfield and zukowski have all left From now onwards will be a one in and one out scenario. . This dead wood patter ain’t the way I look at it. The dead wood mentioned have all contributed to points in the league last season. They are all rangers players and they all on their day have real good quality. I do hope that if these players leave that we are lucky enough to bring in players that are guaranteeing a better quality. Not easy to find.

Basically what i'm saying is that when I look at a rangers squad I don’t see dead wood. I see rangers players and I won’t only rate them highly when they fly high. Only 11 can start a game and it’s hard for the rest to train hard consistently and not fit into a system. Don’t make them dead wood.

Any updates on Danilo, Sima and Dowel and when they might return?
I still feel for me Danilo and Sima are starters maybe not every game but they would help.
Cantwell being out is a big blow but let's see who takes his place I agree Lawrence is the most likely to play in this position but I think Cortes could also be very effective there too.

Cantwell will be difficult to replace, we have no one as dynamic and covering the ground he does (not always effective mind) but he always put a shift in. Don't think we have anyone else in that mould. However that might not be a bad thing if we play a more disciplined organised game.

I think we are in for a difficult game tonight. I've a lot of respect for Neil Warnock as a manager and his man management skills. I was reading an article about his tactics at Huddersfield and deploying a low block with the aim to swarm opponents in the wide area. It will be interesting to see if we can get down the channels in behind them as we've done so very successfully under PC so far.

Most players now cut their socks at the ankle and wear sports socks underneath.
Think this is to do with less hassle changing between warm up and game.
Simply pull the team socks over the boot and tape onto sports sock.
The other thing may be, when I was younger and on trial with thistle I had an injury to the large circle of skin on the ball if my foot which peeled in a perfect circle exposing the flesh of my foot whilst wearing team socks. Maybe this is why wear the sports socks now. Just an idea no facts behind it.

Haha Stevie its grip socks they wear with our socks cut at ankle. The holes cut at back of socks to reduce pressure on calf muscles and it improves blood flow. Jimmy wouldn’t have stood for it god bless him.

Storm, its cause the socks are so tight. Cutting holes relieves tension for better circulation. kyke walker i think was the 1st i seen do it. Also the grip socks, even boys club do this now. My son's blackburn side all have grip socks and their sock have all had foot cut off so they just pull them on like a tubi grip ?.

My son had them also I know about grips socks just didn’t know why the holes in the back.
{Ed001's Note - it is simple, some players simply have larger calf muscles than others and find the socks too tight because of it. At some point someone will realise that people are not all the same and make the socks individual or at least available in different calf sizes.}

From PC press conference I don't think we will see Dimoande until maybe the Ayr or Ross county game. I think we will see Cortes from the bench today.
I'm in the camp of a bit of being disappointed we didn't add another striker however I think this shows a maturity in our transfer strategy. We maybe tried to sign our primary target as has been speculated but the club didn't want to sell or we couldn't match the price in this window. Many have said why didn't we get a loan for 6 months or even some have said Van Veen. Most fans believe Dessers has turned a corner and in form so starts most games. How much game time would a Van Veen or other striker get? We have a good run of games now and by the sounds of things Roofe and Lovelace might be available in March. We might also see Danilo and Sima before the end of March with our game against Celtic on the 6th of April. I trust PC will get the max out of these players in second half of season.

With the upturn in form of many of the team and with the return of Lawrence who many feel could be a starter along with Matondo and Raskin what do people feel we need in January?
I can see Big Phil looking to bring in one maybe two players. I'm thinking a right winger is likely to be one and maybe a centre mid. What is interesting to see is that Jack and Lundstrum are very comfortable as the two pivots in midfield. Can Raskin and Cifu adapt and play in these midfield roles? Both from what I see are more attacking. Raskin has lots of potential hoping PC gets a lot out of him.

As someone rightly pointed out in an earlier post the worst decision of the weekend was that the horrendous tackle on Macausland went unpunished and the poor lad is now potentially out for weeks or months. It was a tackle with force and high how that was missed is beyond me and clearly our manager too from his reaction. We are in danger of driving away talented players and managers if we don’t protect them. Scottish football is looking so out dated tackles that belong in the 70s and pitches that belong in the 90s.

I agree SWS keep Lawrence and look at new deal. I doubt at his age he would have a high value sell on anyway and he should playing a full season be able to get 10 or more goals.

I can’t see Denkey for so a number of reasons 1) valuation I’m sure it will be £7m upwards 2) I don’t see us spending that kind of money 3) why do Brugge let their top goal scorer go in January.
I think a loan deal might be the most likely at this late stage. I would love us to sign Denkey or Shankland as I think that could make all the difference. I don’t see either of those happening would love to be wrong.
Interesting to see what happens all the same and still think with current squad we have a chance at title.
