One of my friends told me that Kelsy has already said his goodbyes to timbers and is on his way to the UK for his medical
27 Aug 2026 22:45:48
I hope so, missing Chermiti big time.
27 Aug 2026 22:49:02
He might "fail his medical" now.
27 Aug 2026 22:56:21
You can bring in the best strikers and they'll still struggle in this team. Another wasted £9.3m. We have No creativity and we've had none for 2-3 seasons. Think our most creative players were Tav and Moore last season and they're both away.
27 Aug 2026 22:58:16
He did OT, he threw himself down a set of stairs!
27 Aug 2026 23:19:10
Sco11, some strikers can make chances for themselves. Chermiti does it, Dessers did it, Igamane did it, Morelos did it.
Shanklands got to do more than sulk about throwing his hands in the air.
28 Aug 2026 00:29:07
Tav, we don't always agree. For me, Shanks isn't going to cut it at Rangers. He won't be a Rangers player this time next year.
28 Aug 2026 01:22:36
It looks that way, Stevie, but there is absolutely zero supply to the strikers. At Hearts he had workhorses all around him doing the donkey work. At Rangers you need to run channels and occupy defenders more and that's just not him.
28 Aug 2026 02:42:46
BBJ, really.stairs. 🤬
28 Aug 2026 05:07:49
Tav, big Dessers was one of the players that seemed to always be in the right place too, every game he had chances, our strikers under one up top are like a man down, just like Walter would play Miller rather than Boyd in one up top, same story here, although we don't have a one up top striker and putting chuck up with Naderi for me was woeful decision making.
28 Aug 2026 05:59:00
Tav123, 100% mate. I was disgusted by Shankland's body language, and to me what looked like sheer lack of effort in last night's game. He's never a Rangers captain in a million years, another huge mistake by McInnes.
28 Aug 2026 06:39:10
Dado, bang on there - no supply to forwards at all in 1st half - we had 2 wingers playing and both were anonymous - we also played Naderi as lone striker who looks like a headless chicken and is over the place and gives us zero up front - he cannot run a channel and has no positional sense looking for crosses - combine that with zero creation from midfield and 2 wingers who can't/won't take on full backs and we have reason why zero chances and zero goals will be our norm.
imo Naderi would have struggled to get a jersey when we went through lower leagues - he has no football intelligence and must be our worst buy in many a moon - how big money was spent on that lad is truly a mystery. 🤔👀
Shankland, like most poachers, needs service in and around the box, which is something that is alien to us - play to people's strengths.
28 Aug 2026 06:42:20
But I thought the reason we didn't win the league last year was because we didn't have Shankland. 🤔😬
28 Aug 2026 06:51:19
Has he had a run of games or any service?
28 Aug 2026 06:56:21
Chermiti is part of the problem, not the solution. He was very poor in most games he played. Let's not kid ourselves that one injury had affected us that much.
28 Aug 2026 07:11:49
Perhaps with this low someone will actually look around and see the systemic failures in the club, with recruitment and scouting.
Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better.
It's not time for protests or sacking DM. He was walked into a club who have been in some form of crisis for many years.
Back DM. The anger and frustration is 💯 at the people responsible for the club's signings and the order in which they signed them. Take Kim, our latest signing. Why wasn't that deal prioritised given the importance of the fixtures we have now floundered in? Why react to Chermiti's injury? Why not have had Kelsy signed with a plan to move Chermiti on with that alleged large fee? Why the left and right back shortages in these key games, again no planning or strategy apparent in those positions.
Nico Raskin, and as and when he leaves, good luck and thank you Nico. Why wasn't his sale the start of our planning to bed in a suitable no6?
The recruitment has been shambolic. No apparent coordination or overall plan. We need them gone asap. People can agree or disagree with Graeme Souness on the recruitment but that man is a winner who lifted our club from nowhere to champions. If AC and those at the top fail to act in removing and restructuring our player signing and development strategy then we will have many more days feeling like this. Let's back DM, and hope that he gets the players he needs to turn this around.
28 Aug 2026 07:12:24
Chermiti is the most talented striker at Rangers by a mile, Howwazthat. 🤔
28 Aug 2026 07:33:23
There's an overwhelming streak of laziness and couldn't give a f*** from some players and we all know who they are. Get them out of our team. Maybe got the swagger because some clown has stuck a crazy price tag on them. Get them to F*** please.
It's so hard to actually watch where we are compared to Gerard's title team and of course our guys before we were sent down.
Where exactly is our rot? Is it certain players, is it defence, midfield, wingers, upfront?
I just look at it all and it's everything without being able to point at a specific area.
What do you guys think? What's the first step in the fix?
28 Aug 2026 07:48:59
Forever, First step is to abandon training today - and get all players to watch every match this season - ask them if this is the standard and is it adequate for a Rangers team? - These videos should be played on a loop until the players' eyes bleed - just us fans have suffered in each game 🤔 and those who pose and swagger rather than working hard should be exposed to the rest of the playing/coaching staff - Don't train, just live and learn by watching this drivel!
28 Aug 2026 07:49:24
Chermiti, the guy that's not scored from open play pre season or the games he's been involved in. He's been poor so far and got a bad one, can't be helped, but let's not romanticise that he's the solution, he's not, maybe down the line, yes, lots wrong in our play doesn't contribute either.
28 Aug 2026 08:14:16
When you listen to McInnes, he is having a massive swipe at the recruitment "we looked young". That's a perfect statement for me, signing these boys at 20 / early 20s is simply not the answer. Get that department ripped up and gone. However, 40 odd million down the line it looks too late.
28 Aug 2026 08:18:24
On Big Dessers, he should never have been sold, and better than any striker currently playing at Ibrox, ie. Shankland, Miovski, Naderi. 🤔 CD9 scored 51 goals in 2 seasons at Rangers, and still wasn't good enough for some who wanted him gone.
We've never had a striker anywhere near his goal return since he left, and he had an attitude to die for. 🤔🇬🇧 I wish he was still at Rangers. 🙏🇬🇧
28 Aug 2026 08:59:27
Looking back (at ex-players) is not the answer.
We systematically fail to learn from previous mistakes.
When you consider the number of new recruits, it can't come as a surprise that we look disjointed and lack any team identity.
I am not suggesting last night's performance was anything other than atrocious. In particular, the lack of effort, desire and basic ability was as bad as I can remember, and I have supported Rangers for almost 60 years.
As for a solution - I think we need to stick with the manager (although he is making it hard to keep believing in him) - it's obvious, as Harhun points out, that we need experience to help the large number of young players through this really tough period.
Pittodrie will be another tough test. Let's hope we can turn things around.
28 Aug 2026 09:08:09
There have been so many mistakes. Dessers was hounded out by many of his own fans. I liked the big guy, always gave 100% & could create his own chances with little service. We should never have let him go. The signings have come too late, out of 2 euro comps already, because we didn't have what we needed & still don't after last night's showing. Fingers pointed at owners, fitness staff & recruitment. Screw this model, splashing out big cash on very young lads & if the players are going to be as rubbish as we have seen, nobody's going to want to buy them, so what profits will be made? We should identify what we need & go get them.
No more youth/project buys. We need a team that plays football, & if they do that, then the money will come. Only positive is all we have to worry about is domestic, so there are no excuses if we cannot improve drastically over next couple of mths, esp with them & Hearts having euro games.
28 Aug 2026 09:08:46
Howwazthat couldn't disagree with you more re Chermiti being poor.
Slow start but exploded from Christmas onwards. His goals and overall contribution was brilliant imo.
Been through this before, best goals per min played ratio in the league last year.
Not bad for someone who played basically 50% of the season and was only 21 in his first full season in first team football.
Sounds like some of our fans want this guy chased out. Same as they did with Gio, Dessers etc etc.
We never learn.
28 Aug 2026 09:14:00
Whole team were mince.
Simple, no excuses.
Crap.
Empty Jerseys.
No effort
No intensity.
No desire to win.
Beaten by a second rate team.
Worst team n performance I've seen in a year.
Massive step backwards.
I'm dreading the league n cups, as we are a team of no hoper bar Curtis, who tried his socks off.
28 Aug 2026 09:21:27
Dessers would have made zero difference.
28 Aug 2026 09:22:07
Swsobe, it's not a very high bar at the moment to be the most talented striker at Ibrox.
28 Aug 2026 09:40:09
What this team needs is 3 or 4 30+year olds.
With bags of experience to bring these young players on, I believe that we have a lot of talented players there just need a bit of guidance.
28 Aug 2026 10:08:21
Bit of clarity to their positions. All this chopping and changing does no one any good.
28 Aug 2026 10:22:45
TF2, that's why I craved for a Jordan Henderson type for our club at start of this season - but it's readily understood he was going to be way out our league as wages and fee goes - but that experienced leadership type is ideal for us imo. 🤔
28 Aug 2026 10:39:12
Harhun Shanks, McCrorie, Godfrey, Penrice, Devlin and Raskin. Hardly been all young kids signed, the issue being the experience we have signed isn't deemed good enough to start majority of our games.
Every one of those experienced guys should be in the team, except they just ain't good enough, and that's not just on recruitment, but also McInnes for sanctioning such deals then moaning about recruitment.
28 Aug 2026 10:41:05
Why blame Chermiti, why bad mouth Dessers? They weren't playing. At least the latter would have run his heart out for the jersey. Doesn't matter who we had playing, if the tactics aren't correct, the formation isn't correct, the desire isn't there. These requirements are the fault of the manager.
What is the major difference between now and pre split last season. We were playing well until the "split" then the world collapsed. We haven't recovered since then. Changed the manager, bought players, and if anything, we have deteriorated even more.
28 Aug 2026 10:53:13
Chermiti is continuing to be slagged off by certain posters even though he's not even playing. Unreal.
He's the best player at the club by a mile and the best young striker we have had in my lifetime and I'm 49, so have seen plenty.
He arrived at 21 like Super Ally and was better at 21 than Ally was. The injury could be career defining for him, so it's impossible to know what he'll go on to achieve, but watching Shankland play last night, it truly is careful what you wish for.
28 Aug 2026 11:19:35
Chermiti has been poor? Best advice is take up another sport. Chermiti has been poor. 😁 Embarrassing, clueless post. Young, very talented footballer.
28 Aug 2026 11:28:13
Chermiti exploded from Christmas? You watch different games from me. Whilst he may be the most talented striker at the club, that's not my point - that is a very low bar at present, and he would in all likelihood have made very little difference to the last few games.
28 Aug 2026 12:29:58
Miovski offers more than Naderi. Absolutely pointless player. McInnes will be lucky to be in a job for Halloween, saying that could be Monday, depending on Aberdeen game.
28 Aug 2026 12:34:41
Howwazthat, we definitely do watch different games.
Chermiti can run the lines, bully centre halves, is rapid, direct, can take players on, has immense skill, is strong, can hold it up.
& can play upfront himself comfortably.
All of the above, Shankland or Naderi didn't have in their lockers.
Possibly Shankland can bring those around him into the game, but that's about it, he's a goalscorer.
So to say that Chermiti wouldn't have made any difference is a red hot take.
28 Aug 2026 12:42:22
Souness, you must be watching the same Chermiti as me, some really haven't got any clue.
28 Aug 2026 12:54:32
Yet Chermiti is a striker and should be in the box not running the lines.
Fork is right, he hadn't started the season well so no clue if he would of made a difference but some folk claim they know nothing about football because they don't agree with him, yes you Star!
The team that was put out yesterday should of had way too much for a team that didn't even qualify for Europe on their own accord.
28 Aug 2026 13:19:27
See out the 40 appearances, how many matches had a Chermiti goal involvement?
And how many of the matches did we win?
28 Aug 2026 14:53:21
As long as he's not as talented as the class player Dan Neil eh, Mystar.
