Archer is a good striker but has lost form of lately and not scoring goals for southampton. But non of there strikers are scoring goals just now. He can not be a bad striker as we tried to sign him when he left aston villa as well.

think its a little harsh on archer had a tough season yes but there was a good poacher there not sure if he's type we need but will score given chances my only fear like Miovski can we create the chances for him.

Just googled his stats, he's not got many goals wherever he went. His best was 11 goals in 20 games on loan at Middlesborough. All other goals are pitifully to amount of games played

Not Rohl I don't trust, it's the folk suggesting the signings. A 3rd division striker from Germany with less than stellar scoring record and now another striker from England with an even less than impressive scoring record. We do realise we are trying to win the league and qualify for the ECL not some diddy cup. Too much on the line not to buy some quality.
We need a proven goalscorer no matter which way you guys try and cut it!!

bbj some of what you say I agree with but what we need is a way to make one of our goalscorer prolific an we are back to the discussion we haven't had yet on how to get the creative players to provide the ammo. I don't thinks ego that whether or not strikers make the right runs or not.
I think Naderi will be required to do what Chermiti does; that sent really score goals but to link play and allow others to.

Archer is fast and sharp around the box, might be going through a Barron spell but you don't pay £15mminless he has a bit of quality.
I'd be happy with him on loan and to sign the German even if it means loaning him back for 6 months will Archer covers.
Archer will be an upgrade on Danilo so for me if we are improving squad it's a yes for me.
Getting the young physical German with 8 goals and 5 in 15 starts regardless of level is a good signing for the future.
Doing deal and loaning back guarantees he gets game time and that we have him in for start of pre season in summer.

Think he got a 21 million pound price tag for no reason. You get sold for that sort of fee for a reason. Sometimes certain clubs don't work out for players. It's happened to some of the best players in football. If archer gets his confidence back which is very possible with the chances he will get then he could be a very good signing.
You're basically saying Rohl hasn't got a clue since he's the one that's making final decisions on who's coming in and he will have watched plenty of him being in the championship.
