David Ornstein back again tweeting today that:

Rangers make bid to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace. Offer for 22yo winger loan + potential obligation to buy up to £10m. Rejected by #CPFC but #RangersFC pursuit ongoing and interest from more clubs in England youth int'l
@TheAthleticFC.

24 Jul 2025 11:03:50
To be honest, I'm pretty surprised we're being linked with an obligation to buy of that size. I can only imagine it would have to be very keenly structured (maybe depending on CL qualification etc? )

Certainly seems like we're still shopping for a left footed right winger.

24 Jul 2025 11:27:48
I think this boy would be a fantastic addition.

24 Jul 2025 12:03:53
We can't be paying that kind of money, would rather we get two in for that.

24 Jul 2025 12:14:10
Hey this is being structured into next year, when again the club will have additional revenue that we don't have now, new commercial contracts etc that we are not aware of. I would rather trust the 49rs in their approach to deals rather than the old board with little commercial understanding of football.

24 Jul 2025 12:29:22
If the new owners feel that they can afford to pay that next summer, who are we to argue. They obviously feel that he is worth it and would have a big sell on value if he is successful.

24 Jul 2025 12:37:23
I'm trusting the new owners know what we can and can't spend tbh, they know how to run a successful sports model. Only Rangers fans could be linked with a 10m move after no having a pot to piss in last summer and find a way to complain lol.

24 Jul 2025 12:44:39
Just for clarity, the new owners pledged to spend 20million on players, however they deposited substantially more in rfc bank account, as said by previous text in the new management I certainly trust.

24 Jul 2025 13:13:37
Ornstein is a well respected journalist.

24 Jul 2025 13:31:05
The obligation to buy can be paid over a 3yr period inline with FFP I'm sure.

24 Jul 2025 13:44:54
Rangers review posted (not there biggest fan but some like them) that there is no obligation to buy in the deal.

24 Jul 2025 13:57:12
They put out right after it that it's 8m buy and not 10m tbh I would trust Ornstein over them on this one storm.

24 Jul 2025 14:03:41
A loan with an option is a fair deal, the 2 that come to mind on both sides are malik tilman and oscar Cortes

Tilman was a brilliant player someone we could have sold for 15m plus he didn't want to come back knew he could get better

Cortes looked promising bad injury record we were obligated to buy him and not sure where he stands in the pecking order.

24 Jul 2025 14:10:32
What happened to the supposed interest in Grady Diangana. He's out of contract snd is a left footed RW.

24 Jul 2025 14:48:11
Wslger4ever

We are the fans that seen our club put down to lowest division

Never forget that

If you don't learn feom past your doomed to repeat it and just because big reputation and big fee doesn't mean they will cut it in scotland

Im with other two or even three good players for that money.

24 Jul 2025 15:08:34
If the boy's that good we could double our money. We can't moan at paying 10m for a wonder kid in England and expect £15 for our own wonder kid!

24 Jul 2025 15:43:21
When we eventually have a settled side and no need to rebuild every season then players going out and in for these fees should be the norm, a loan with option would be a great deal and he seems the player Martin wants as he tried to get him at Southampton a year ago, a think we might get this one with rumours that he prefers us to other offers.

24 Jul 2025 15:49:35
Coopersdad, i didn't realise that martin tried to get sakyi for Southampton mate ? He'd be a very good signing for us and would absolutely solve our problem right wing position ? It's also good that you're saying he prefers to sign for us, over other club's offers ?.

24 Jul 2025 16:14:57
Wishy am not disagreeing with you here but just out of interest why do you tend to believe the other guy this time? Is it because you want it to happen so it suits to believe that?

As I stated I ain't RR biggest fan anyway am just wondering.

For me people believe certain rumours just because they want it to happen not because they believe it. I am not having a go at you or saying you are one.

24 Jul 2025 16:15:44
Including a years salary (on loan) & fees, it will probs spin out about 8-10 in total, is my thinking.

24 Jul 2025 16:24:31
Loyalist don't think they ever said once abojt spending 20 mill on players.

24 Jul 2025 16:31:26
I do usually think the RR get more things right than wrong mate but ornstein is up there with the best when it comes to transfers he very very rarely tweets anything and when he does it's usually on the money so that's only reason I'd believe him more. Truths probably in the middle mate.

24 Jul 2025 16:35:44
Tbh i'm glad to hear it could be a buy option dunno bout the rest of you but last few seasons I've been sick of getting guys on loan, Tillman, Sima and Cerny, playing them improving then and having to watch them walk away. Wud be delighted to have our OWN players playing regularly and improving them that's always a win win scenario. Nothing against loans, we need exp and squad depth but obv we've been crying out for wingers hence all the loans for those positions so would be nice to not let them walk after a good season.

24 Jul 2025 17:14:53
It's been rejected by Crystal Palace anyway!

24 Jul 2025 17:15:58
Saints based media claiming - Despite interest from Southampton, Leicester and Coventry, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi would prefer a move to Rangers this summer, with Russell Martin the driving force behind a deal

?.

24 Jul 2025 17:21:52
If we can get a quality winger on the right we will be so much more dangerous especially if Aasgard is as good as some think playing behind a main striker like Iga.

24 Jul 2025 17:23:30
Buy a striker with that money.

24 Jul 2025 17:24:27
If our owners are willing to pay 10m for him I'm very fine with that, very sure they'll know far better than anyone on here if they can afford it, they'll also know how to finance this deal maybe why it's 10m on loan for 12 months.

24 Jul 2025 18:19:10
Sorry but are people here serious

Nearly everybody slating david murray for spending and people not worried about signing

Example

Martin 7 signings or so and guys on ranvers review saying we need to sign a keeper we need to sign a left back we need to spend serious money on a left cb we need a striker we need another winger

Really how is this attitude any diff to the murray years if we are looking to spend 10million on raksakyi don't grt me wrong would love him on loan maybe even with the option in case he turned out great. I've followed this player a bit and why would we pay premier price when he's always for one reason or another not had a run at a club that are well regarded for giving youth a go

10million outlay for us would be insane considering where we coming from.

Learn from the mistakes of past or be doomed to repeat them.

24 Jul 2025 18:29:22
If we have £10 million to spend use some of this to resign Cerny.

24 Jul 2025 18:46:58
Forever you must be more clued up than very successful business men then, If they're willing to spend that on any player i think they'll know far better than you or anyone in general.

24 Jul 2025 19:20:08
Don't get me wrong i loved and rated cerny highly playing for us on his season long loan deal, last season Copland02?But we won't spend £10million on cerny mate because of his age and no future sell on value ?The new owners know what they're doing and i can absolutely see why they would possibly fork out that sort of fee for right winger sakyi who is in his very early 20's, with a high fee future sell on value for us, if we can possibly get him ?.

24 Jul 2025 19:23:03
Forever do u ever have anything positive to add? Honestly nothing ever pleases you. It's not David Murray running us it's guys who have got multiple succesful sporting buisnesses and they are worth billions, I think they know what they are doing.

24 Jul 2025 19:24:27
Mystar the boy lives in a world of his own.

24 Jul 2025 19:25:05
I don't think anyone on here knows what our budget is this summer.

24 Jul 2025 19:36:11
Correct Wishy, very intelligent men that know what they're doing, they will see his price only increasing and if they're willing to pay that fee fair enough, thought the same from day one Mark.
Storm he never makes one positive post about Rangers.

24 Jul 2025 20:36:03
Exactly mystar, plus it won't be 10m up front it will bs spread across years.

24 Jul 2025 20:48:53
Foreverrangers, I will never forget what happened to the club in the past so don't lecture me as if you are the only Rangers supporter on here.
We have never been owned by anyone who had the amount of money behind them that the current owners do . David Murray who spent big and ultimately cost us dearly never had the cash that these guys have and in fact mostly used other peoples money.
The current owners know they will need to spend cash to achieve success and they will know what to do and how to do it. This deal gets the player in without spending anything until next summer and no doubt the fee will be spread over a number of years, transfers are not paid up front .
They know what they are doing and we must trust them to do it . They are businessmen not emotional supporters.

24 Jul 2025 20:53:26
Smart smart people in charge of us. there business acumen is second to none.

24 Jul 2025 21:23:52
Try being smart yourself Lithium as you think dessers is dire my friend ??.

24 Jul 2025 22:27:43
Oooft Coops???.

24 Jul 2025 22:41:59
Walter, you're on top form tonight???.

25 Jul 2025 00:36:42
Dessers is dire my friend that's why Martin wants rid of him lol.

25 Jul 2025 11:13:13
Forever does have a point though. as fans we always want the club to spend and get us the best players we can get. There is an assumption there that the owners will do that responsibly but as with Murray that isn't always the case and assuming that the 49ers cash is behind us is wrong. They may have lots but they won't be spending any of that on us even if FSR allowed it. IMO we will be developed organically and their contacts may well lead to better sponsorship and player sales will add to the kitty but it won't be from 49ers direct cash.
To me it seems like a £10M purchase at this time would be a little excessive for our budget. I guess that is why we want a loan (Palace want a sale) . if they down manage to sell then the loan may happen at end of window would be my guess.

25 Jul 2025 11:19:30
Forever.
One big difference. Rangers now have serious financial backing!
