Vardy who has multiple offers had narrowed it down to Rangers and Como. He wants to play outside of England at the twilight of his career.
Time will tell what he decides but we have tabled an offer that he is considering.

I thought we left Danilo very isolated and early in the game he dropped off looking for a ball to feet and wasn't played in then the one time he was played in he bounced it back and nobody had gone beyond him. As for vardy I don't see him suited to our style of football.

Agree re Danilo Fork. It happened last year with Dessers when we blame the player for only managing 2 touches as if he is hiding away in the stands. we never really got ball to Dani or Dowell in first half but expect them too till perform.

Woodsy, that's a poor take. He was symptomatic of the flanks not working, most especially Dowell's side. We seen how it changed after a bit of boot up the holery at half time. Danilo will be a player for us.

I got told from a decentish source yesterday that vardy is the target if we sell a striker. I'd take him if it was a Dessers replacement but if it was Igamane who left I'd want a younger profile. I do think we need to sell one of Dessers and Igamane as we can't go into this season with 2 out of 3 strikers missing due to the AFCON.

Agree we all want more from our strikers. However from last night they received poor service. The ball was either constantly trying to be threaded through a mass of bodies or our crosses just weren't getting past the first man… any striker will struggle in that scenario.

Our midfield was non existent in the first half and Danilo was isolated. Only got the ball when he dropped deep into the middle of the park.
One concern i had last night was off the ball movement and intelligent use of available space seemed to be lacking. Hopefully that is just teething problems with the new tactics.

Don't think our midfield were non existent, I think they (for the oldies and as Sweet said! ) 'Didnt have a clue, what to do' and asking 'does anyone know the way? '. when both Tav and Aaron's nothing came forward and drifted inside, packing the midfield. Dio and Raskin both had to go wide and looked lost.
Play like that I the SPL and we will get screwed!

Bar these things can only be learned from and worked on, let's see where this side is in another 8/10 games, we need to remember only five bounce games and one official game we will only get stronger when players find our system far easier, Raskin and Diomande will only learn with games, when we're not up to speed on the system but winning games will do me.

On last night's game Joe Rothwell easily our best midfielder for the 86 or so minutes he was on ?Never wasted a pass short or long and he's totally our playmaker as everything came through him, he's a cracking signing and so calm/ composed ?.

Imo Danilo didn't get any service in the 1st half. Lack of decent passing in midfield and out from the back was the issue. A lot of players didn't look comfortable. Also didn't see the intensity and hard work that is meant to be the way forward.
Thought the left hand side wasn't working.
2nd half looked a lot better and when Danilo got the ball I thought it he was okay. Rothwell looked good all through the game.
I think that we should keep Danilo, he will come good. Igamane is going to be a top player in time but would be better to reinvest any transfer fee above £15M to kick-start player trading. As for Dessers, unless we get £5M+ we should keep as despite missing tap-ins regularly he does score a decent amount of goals.

I would agree that Danilo didn't get much service but his control of the ball let him down when he did.
I'm not even going to comment about a certain player except to say the left side worked far better than the right side over the 90 minutes.

Wsl the left side where Pana caused us issues all game and the one where a certain player at the back lost the ball at least 5 times and most of our chances against came from. the LHS where the LHS MF got the ball stuck in his feet at a corner and Butland had to make a point blank save; the one where the guy missed a sitter at back post when left by the LB. that left side.
try taking off your I hate Tav and Dowell glasses for a second and actually see what happened. not blaming LHS for anything as I support but can see what happened during a game and not just pick on players they don't like.

Just my view but i think Dessers is better suited to european games than Danilo, bigger lad better hold up and a better fit against european clubs Danilo might work better domestically with a bit more movement and creativity ?♂️ still saw us giving away possession carelessly and easily last night no need for it several times i held my breath in our own box made me feel sick ? however Rothwell was good, young Curtis was superb and i think we are all going to love the boy Gassama the brief time he played very direct, positive and cobfident future fans favourite there if you ask me. Defensively its obv we are still really lacking. Overall happy with a 2-0 would have taken that all day long and we can still improve.

My concern from last night is that by the end of game we had at least 5 not playing in their natural position. Old fashioned that way but I like my RB at RB or a winger on wing . Granted we did ok anfd fab goal by Curtis but still. I. By the end of transfer window I can see it completely different.

Danilo with creativity coming from a settled midfield and wingers CAN be what we need, he can hold the ball up and he can finish.
The guys been beyond unlucky, he needs a chance IMO.

Angus1812 I challenge you to find any post where I can be seen to be hating on Tav, in fact of all the posters on here I am one who is rarely critical of him and respect everything he has done for the club. As for Dowell, I'm not going there again but I don't hate him either, I just think he's a dreadful football player which he showed again last night. I am not alone in that opinion.
Our issues on the left side of the defence all come from not having a left footed centre back or left back and asking our full back to tuck inside and leave acres of space, that's the managers fault but I suppose I must hate him too because I disagree with his tactics and team selections,

Only sniff at goal danilo got was a half chance left footed volley and was goalbound before blocked for a corner. How many times did he press the keeper into kicking out for our throw in? Yes hold up play lacking at times but the times it did stick he linked play well eg dio shot saved. Give the guy a chance whenever he has had a run of games he has scored goals.
