Diawara going to milan reserves over first team football says a lot about him. that being said the board are starting to worry me if i'm fully honest i'm not sure they have much of a clue what they are doing just yet 🫣 Rangers aren't leeds.
the season starts in 8 days and we are drastically short all over the park well apart from defensive mid where there are about 10 players 🤣
23 Jul 2026 15:16:42
It says he is probably getting more money at AC than he is at Rangers. Better league, bigger team, etc.
23 Jul 2026 15:18:54
Not finalised, terms agreed, same as us.
23 Jul 2026 15:37:35
As Fork says, terms agreed, same as us. Decision time for the lad, we will see if he wants first team football or reserve league football with his choice, if it's not for us then we move on to the next target because we need to move quickly, drastically short in defence as it stands.
23 Jul 2026 15:40:09
It's fans starting to worry me, Mustcat.
23 Jul 2026 15:43:54
Would've been our player if the board had been quick about it, but it is what it is. We are now moving on to the MSL defender.
23 Jul 2026 15:54:51
how do you know he would have been our player, even if we were the only one making an offer what's to stop him saying i want to see what else is going to pop up.
23 Jul 2026 16:11:32
Mustcatin, that could be said about everyone we go for, but we'll only pay what we think a player is worth, mate. We can't just out bid every player we go for. Wouldn't be smart. I have concerns as well as everyone, but I'll park it until last day or 2 of window, when a huge percentage of transfers go through.
23 Jul 2026 16:12:49
Need to chill in here. 😂 The board know what they are doing and plan in place from what I've heard. McInnes happy with moves in place.
23 Jul 2026 16:22:03
Same happened with Neil. You never know, he could still be ours.
23 Jul 2026 16:27:52
Milan v Glasgow.
After a visit to Glasgow this morning, seems he's made up his mind quite quickly.
Probably shopping for apartments in Centro Storico as I type.
23 Jul 2026 16:30:02
I don't believe the board have done anything wrong here.
If the player decides not to come, then that's his choice. Frustrating, but we need to move on. I would doubt that all eggs are in this basket, and I would expect us to move onto other targets.
Just life, but disappointing if he chooses reserve football.
23 Jul 2026 16:34:22
It would appear others do not think guy is ready for 1st team football.
If the guy chooses AC he obviously thinks the same, so probably better to move on.
23 Jul 2026 16:35:24
Spot on, Muscatin. Scotty123, does only having 4 /5 defenders really not concern you? That doesn't tell me the board know what they're doing with a week to go.
23 Jul 2026 16:37:20
Could Milan have won his signature and agreed to send him straight out on loan to Rangers instead of having him in the reserves for a season?
23 Jul 2026 16:40:13
My Star - I agree. It's the negativity already from the fans that is starting to worry me. Season's not even started and fans already on the backs of McCrorie, Godfrey and Curtis, who many were screaming for to be given a chance.
23 Jul 2026 16:51:07
Look, I can understand moaning about losing a player to Cardiff, but regardless of whether it's u23s or not, it's still AC Milan. 😂 All it takes is a couple good performances and he's moved up to first team. Milan or Govan, hmm? More money as well, hmmm. Come on, man, get in the real world. 😂
23 Jul 2026 17:04:18
If he goes straight into their U23's, works really hard, he could end up being the next Nsiala.
23 Jul 2026 17:32:23
You've no connection to Rangers and offered Glasgow or Milan Rangers or AC Milan. If he chooses AC Milan I couldn't say I'm surprised.
23 Jul 2026 17:34:23
We're not going to be successful in signing every player we're interested in signing, that's just football. 🤔
23 Jul 2026 18:49:17
Milan is not your typical Italian city and Glasgow compares very favourably with it. Also, considering the financial inequality that has developed in football between the 5 largest markets and the rest, Rangers also compare favourably and have proved to be a good development path for players.
We don't know he has gone to Milan for sure. If he goes there, we can look at someone else on the target list. If he comes here, he gets our support. It is important that we can identify a player to start and improve the team.
23 Jul 2026 18:50:58
Club could be looking at a number of defenders, though, and just because names and information isn't getting out, fans think nothing is happening.
And every transfer window deals don't always happen at the start of it, but nearer the end as clubs decide on their squads in the top 5 leagues.
Probably made worse by there being a WC as well.
It's like watching an episode of Dad's Army on here at times, with the only character being Corporal Jones. 😉
23 Jul 2026 18:56:03
Or Private Fraser. We are all doomed.
23 Jul 2026 18:58:12
Davie Cooper, I'll have whatever you're smoking if you are saying you would rather live in Glasgow over Milan. Which is an hour and a bit away from Lake Como.
It's no comparison, mate. 😂
{Ed001's Note - he is forgetting footballers tend to be extremely interested in fashion as well, so the lure of living in what is seen as a fashion capital is a big draw. Most of the big names jet over for Milan's fashion week.}
23 Jul 2026 19:07:55
Wishy, I don't smoke but I do like Lake Como, and Italy in general. I take your point, it's all about opinions. It's not as straightforward a choice as it may first appear.
23 Jul 2026 19:17:16
I know, mate, only joking.
23 Jul 2026 19:34:47
😂😂😂😂 Not your typical Italian city? Is Naples a typical Italian city? There are 4 major cultural zones in Italy, so Milan will be exactly the typical Italian city for where it is located! I'm sure you know the North, Central, South and Islands are all different. Rome, Naples, Turin, Bologna, Palermo, Florence and Milan are all vastly different.
23 Jul 2026 20:02:17
Is it the board or owners' fault that we haven't signed players? It's already been said on here McInnes didn't like a couple of OoCs deals we agreed (think 1 was a CB) & he didn't want Akpe Victory, so we ended up with Godfrey (don't know why we couldn't have both), so who knows how many McInnes has said no to or told too long to decide.
It happened last season with Martin & we missed targets cause he took too long.
23 Jul 2026 20:06:03
Iron, I am in Italy every month and I have spent time in and am familiar with all the places you mention. We have a place in Gavi. I am not sure what your emojis mean. Do they match the 4 major cultural zones that you mention? I am surprised there are only 4.
I thought there were many more than that. Milan is a modern city compared with those you mention, I would say that makes it less typical in Italy. I don't suppose Diawara is bothered with any of this.
23 Jul 2026 21:16:12
North Italy, Central Italy, Southern Italy and the Islands. All very different, all cities very different. There is no typical Italian city. They're all very different, and Milan is not comparable to Glasgow. Night and day. I've spent the last 20 years travelling Italy by bus, train and self drive.
I've yet to come across a typical Italian city. They're all vastly different, the one thing that binds them in the large is the Italian language and Catholicism. Although, in the North, many speak French and German. Milan is known as the smartest city in Italy, Bologna the most modern.
23 Jul 2026 19:59:12
Ed and here was me thinking you were talking about Glasgow when you were talking about a fashion capital 😂
{Ed001's Note - funnily enough, no.}
