16 Mar 2026 13:49:30
Curtis in Scotland squad, no Barron.
16 Mar 2026 14:34:51
Pleased for the boy, he is developing well.
16 Mar 2026 14:48:05
No, Connor Zidane? You must be mistaking, John? ?
16 Mar 2026 14:51:38
Wow, didn't see that coming. Great news. Well done to the lad. Hope he comes back and gets his place for us.
16 Mar 2026 14:58:42
Why do some supporters sconce our own players? ? I just don't get that at all.
16 Mar 2026 14:59:01
Gannon Doak is out as he recovers from injury (like Zidane), so does that give the opportunity for Curtis to get a spot? Good news anyway, as it is great for the club in the future.
16 Mar 2026 15:03:53
Congrats to the lad. He looked very good from what I saw of him against Hearts the other night. Hopefully his game keeps progressing and he makes the World Cup squad this summer!
16 Mar 2026 15:12:40
Barron is only returning from injury, so that would have a part to play. Chuffed for Curtis. That wouldn't have happened if he never moved on loan.
16 Mar 2026 15:23:12
Well done, young fella.
16 Mar 2026 15:28:15
Just shows the loan move is working for him, he's getting game time every week. Just hope he comes back to us in summer and kicks on, knowing us though we will prob let him go for peanuts.
16 Mar 2026 15:39:38
He's only 19 years old, and this loan has been great for him. It got him into the Scotland squad. Rangers will only benefit from this with him getting more experience.
16 Mar 2026 15:57:21
Barron's great-great-great-grandmother went to Paris on holiday one time, so Barron has been called up to the France National Team.
National French news headline.
"Connor Barron est le nouveau et Zidane!!"
16 Mar 2026 16:00:29
Should be helping us secure a title. It was madness letting him go; he's better than anything we've got at present.
16 Mar 2026 16:11:58
My star, what about all the other players who r in squad but don't play for club.
My concerti's Killie find the 900k for.
One, what does sconce mean?
16 Mar 2026 16:12:00
I'll tell you something, guys. When Connor Barron came on yesterday, he demanded the ball and moved the ball forward quicker. ? I just wish some would get off his back, and give the young man the credit he deserves regarding the midfield position he plays in. ? He never hides, gives everything, and gets the ball back for us quickly in midfield, which gets us on the front foot. ? Can some not see this.
? Instead, some will just want to continue with the sarcasm of sconcing and spouting Connor Zidane, etc. ? It just shows you guys up with that patter regarding one of our own midfielders. ? Barron, I grant you, is not as technical as some, but we need his type in our midfield, which allows our midfield to function better and more quickly/fluently. ? He would definitely be in my Rangers midfield. ???
16 Mar 2026 16:12:08
It's great for the boy and us long term. It's strange that even when he was getting game time at the start of the season he couldn't get into the Scotland U21 team, and now he has bypassed all his squad mates and made it into the full squad.
The decision to loan him out is obviously helping him already. He'll be like a new signing next season and hopefully fill one of the spaces available when we get rid of the 4 or 5 wide men currently on the books.
16 Mar 2026 16:14:02
Boy blue Rohl did not rate Curtis.
16 Mar 2026 16:15:48
Can't see anybody 'sconce our own players', more losing the will to live at fans who continually say he's the best player to grace Ibrox. Barron is a cracking, valuable player in the squad. I don't think he's a player we'd build a team around, not yet anyway.
16 Mar 2026 16:19:36
John, the same has happened with Doak. Returning from injury, Rohl spoke highly about Curtis in an interview when asked about him going on loan.
16 Mar 2026 16:21:28
Dado, you are absolutely correct, good squad player, but should be allowed to develop without the weight of the world.
Curtis likewise.
16 Mar 2026 16:35:35
Star, like you, my memory was that Rohl has spoken positively about Curtis several times, saying he is "on the right track". He performed well playing as a RW and LB, and in Europe he had been brave on the ball.
I also thought it was a straight loan with no option, and I can't find anything to suggest otherwise when I search online.
16 Mar 2026 16:37:56
Is that right that Rohl didn't rate Curtis? I didn't know that. I thought he recognised that his game time would be limited with Skov coming in and the players already there. Hopefully he changes his mind.
16 Mar 2026 16:39:15
My star. Spoke that highly of Curtis, wanted him and Cameron out of club.
Water, can u name your top twenty midfielders in last thirty years u have seen play for us?
16 Mar 2026 16:40:15
My Star, only reason Curtis gets a sbiff is because Doak is injured.
16 Mar 2026 16:52:55
After him getting dropped at the weekend, it's clear Olsen will be a squad player and possibly not a starter at £9 million??
16 Mar 2026 16:53:06
Again, can anyone say what sconce means?
16 Mar 2026 17:03:12
Yately, just because a player starts on the bench does not make them a squad player.
Florian Wirtz, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexander Isak have all spent time on the Liverpool bench.
These are not just mere squad players.
Your disdain blinds you from any sense.
16 Mar 2026 17:16:25
I think he wanted Curtis out of the club (on loan) to give him enough starts at a high level to develop him to come back. Time will tell though.
16 Mar 2026 17:19:24
Don't see anything about Connor Barron that's not to like tbh.
He gives 100% every match for his teammates.
He was improving before his injury, and was visibly trying to add a goal to his game.
He looks like a model young pro to me, with the hunger to improve his game.
I wish we had more like him.
Like a boy posted yesterday, av no seen anyone saying he's the finished article, or Zidane, come to that.
My advice to Connor would be to get over to Italy if an offer arrives post season. They seem to appreciate Scots boys a bit more over there, and they love a trier.
16 Mar 2026 17:21:55
No idea, John. I just copy and paste from Sir Walter.
16 Mar 2026 17:22:54
Barron was one of the best players on the park when the team was struggling, and thought he was growing into the strip, tbh.
16 Mar 2026 17:36:43
Yeah, probably the reason he went out on loan, John, but imo that now looks like a mistake as none of our wingers are kicking their own backside atm, mate. Do you rate him, John?
16 Mar 2026 17:44:37
John, coincidentally, I was working out my Scotland squad for the World Cup the other night, and couldn't think of a viable back up to Ben Doak.
I landed on Curtis as his back up, and I think that's what will happen.
We are not loaded with options, and I think Curtis deserves the chance to impress in these games, and if, in doing so, he manages to score or play well, I think he'll get a seat on the plane.
16 Mar 2026 17:52:59
Doak is still injured, not returned yet. That's why he isn't in the squad.
Hanley, not played for 2 months, is in the squad, so I don't know why people are using Doak as an excuse as to why Barron isn't in.
Hanley proves you don't need to be playing to be included. Hanley has been injured also.
The place is crazy.
Coops, that's some rant. I've had my views about Barron. ? And I won't stop them. ?
16 Mar 2026 18:04:14
Coops, just because people don't have the same opinion as you doesn't mean you get to rant about it like yours is the only opinion that matters.
Just move past it, and Aphe, same to you, bud. People can state what they want about ASO without your need to try and ridicule someone. I'm of the same opinion about ASO as we judge on what he has done for Rangers, and that is nothing.
He is our wide player, and he is scared to take on a man, and passes it backwards 99.9% of the time. For the price quoted, it's very valid to state we shouldn't be paying that for a squad player.
John, think 'sconce' is another word for diss, as that's the context he would have used it in, but it's usually a decorative liggt fixture.
16 Mar 2026 18:11:51
Where have I attempted to ridicule anyone Bbj?
You, alongside a lot of others, want someone to "take on a man".
Gassama does that, and provides absolutely nothing.
I would rather a wide playmaker than a sprinter.
Yes, he doesn't tend to take too many risks, but have you ever considered that it is that risk aversion that allows him to produce more goal contributions on average than any other attacking player we have?
That is both at the club currently and out on loan.
16 Mar 2026 16:17:16
SWS, some of us just don't rate Connor Barron as highly as you do at this point in time.
16 Mar 2026 18:22:26
Cheers Big Blue, every day a school day.
16 Mar 2026 18:59:05
Just the comment about having sense, Aphe. To make out that someone has no sense is ridicule, bud.
We can all have varying opinions, and that's cool if that's your take, and I guess we will see in the summer if the club thinks he has contributed enough to pay that kind of money.
Hopefully we see more from him in the next 2 months.
You know what they say, John, every day you learn something new.
16 Mar 2026 19:11:29
Bbj pointing out that someone is talking nonsense is not ridicule.
I pointed out that it is his disdain that blinds him to the fact I pointed out.
I am more than aware that everyone has, and is entitled to, an opinion.
I just prefer when people can have a proper conversation about things, rather than just the same soundbites with no substance.
I have disagreed with you on many occasions, but you debate and discuss all topics with substance.
16 Mar 2026 19:25:32
Totally agree with you bbj, i hope his loan ends and its thanks but no thank mr olsen, all the best
16 Mar 2026 19:22:33
Aphelion, we certainly move the ball forward faster when Barron is in our midfield, my friend, and if anyone can't see that they must be facing the wrong way. ?
16 Mar 2026 19:40:44
Barron is a better footballer than people seem to realise.
16 Mar 2026 19:43:07
He is not yet the answer SWS in my opinion. No matter what you are saying, I am facing the correct way.
Some of us prefer players to develop without making them into something they are not.
16 Mar 2026 19:56:05
Aphe, but most are just arguing that he gives us an option in the mf; not that he is the fully developed player we want or will turn into. Similar to Olsen, we can see he may have talent, but he doesn't show it often enough; I would accept more workrate until he does show it, and would win a few over as well.
The discussion about him being the flying winger most expect is one for another day. ?
16 Mar 2026 20:02:39
I have had enough of the Scotland fans turning on their own (Ryan Jack). Some Rangers fans don't seem to be much better. Ok to have your opinion, but there's ways to express it without mockery of your own players.
16 Mar 2026 20:06:36
Angus, I have no issues with people saying he is a good option for the midfield.
I would agree with that every single day.
It is the reason I only responded to SWS directly.
Connor Barron is nowhere near ready enough to place the expectations of the world on his young shoulders.
16 Mar 2026 20:44:41
Aph, who is actually 'placing the expectations of the world on his young shoulders'? Who?
Is the onset spring turning everyone a bit mad?
I'm reading some right chaos on these pages, folks.
16 Mar 2026 20:47:07
Barron situation. We don't move the ball quicker with him not forward; anyway, most of his passes are 3/4 yards to the side. So, Coops, you must be watching upside down, mate. ?
Some fans like Barron, some don't. Some fans still like Tav and Souttar, who are rank, and some don't. Some like Chermiti, some don't; it's just life.
16 Mar 2026 20:55:24
Yes, I get that, Aphe, bud, but just remember this whole site is based off of people's opinions, and you stating he is talking nonsense because he has a different opinion on what a squad player is is ridicule.
Yes, we have and will continue to disagree on certain things, I'm sure of it, but let's just always stay respectful, bud.
Angus, that is a conversation for another day, but I agree about players putting in the work rate even when they are not playing the best. It will buy them time to play into form and win some people over.
16 Mar 2026 21:05:47
BBJ, I always strive to be respectful, unfortunately I am not immune to not masking what is on my mind.
16 Mar 2026 22:18:12
Storm, well, at least Barron is improving. He is now moving the ball 3 to 4 yards from side to side rather than just 2 earlier on tonight. That must be the quickest development of a player in football history. ??
Oh, and 8 of his 15 passes when he came on were forward passes.
17 Mar 2026 00:22:56
Angus. ??????
17 Mar 2026 04:49:19
Correct, Angus. ? And I know who's watching a game upside down, for the record. ? I also can't find anything in Findlay Curtis' loan deal to Kilmarnock with any 900k option to buy at the end of his loan deal. ? I truly think he'll be back at Ibrox. ? ??
