A few at the training centre today debating if Cole Palmer is world class.
Personally I don't so, and feel the term world class is banded about far too easily nowadays.
I like to think that world class is in the top 2-3 players in their position in world football.
Thoughts?

International class but not world class, he's had a pretty average season.
Needs to improve consistency, could mature into something close to world class.

Anyone that's a fairly good player and is in the England Squad always get hyped upto World Class. he's a great young player, but certainly not World Class yet.

Agreed. 'World Class' is a nebulous descriptor these days. For me it denotes any player who'd be in the conversation for a World XI for his position. On that definition, Cole Palmer would be a 'no' from me.

Great player, been off it for a few months but was basically man of match for about a year running, Foden has been way off it all season and some consider him world class and I rate Palmer above him, next couple of years might see Palmer become world class.

EHL I have to say I really rate Cole Palmer
He performs in the big games just look at his overall performance in the final their he was a key player in Chelsea attack and got 2 assists early 2nd half helping Chelsea back into the game his composure and creativity is right up their for me
Good in tight spaces as well excellent technical skills and vision and knows where the net is
I rate him highly EHL.

I don't think Palmer is world class now but I think he will be. He's a top top talent, who I personally think has suffered from Maresca's system. His creativity on the ball is excellent and he strikes the football very cleanly. He isn't YET world class however.

I think he's absolutely top class
A phenomenal player.
Is there really that much between him and say Bellingham? I don't think so. Jude can play deeper and that makes him a better player, but in that 10 position there's nothing between them.
I would call him top class but he's very close to being called world class, whatever that means.

When you are talking world class the one player that springs to mind right now in 2025 is Yamal. Cole palmer is a very good player but, he isn't world class in my opinion.

Sorry but he is no where near world class. The bench mark would be folks like Zidane, Ronaldnio, Kaka, M Laudrup, Hullit, etc etc that's world class, let's not fool oursleves and lower the standards. Fodden is another one, bang average in this company.

Top two in the world in each position is world class for me, ie a basic squad of the best players in world.

World class to me would mean a player who can play to his best in any league and any team within the league world wide. for me palmer isn't there atm but could be given time.

Cole falls into the same bracket as Phil Foden. Exceptional players on their day but far too inconsistent to be labelled World class just yet, imo.

Is there a world class player about at the moment? Ronaldo, messi, Zidane, R9, xavi, inesta for me that's world class. I think yamal is closest to being world class but isn't there yet.

Gone missing in too many games this season although Maresca's formation doesn't help him. Maybe in a couple of years could be in with a shout to be considered one of best but needs to do it consistently.

Cole palmer is a better player than foden by a mile.
Foden need out of city and fast.
He should consider a move abroad, look how well British players are showing up abroad these days and foden is as skillful as they come. He just needs to find the right team to showcase consistency.

Tbh I can't think of any world class players that are about right now, some very top class players but none that stand head and shoulders above the rest.
