I don't remember who posted this but back in the summer someone on here said there was a US Bosman arranged. I've never heard or seen anything more about this but their season ends in a matter of weeks. Does anyone know if there was any truth in this?

TheKiltedFrog

1.) 17 Nov 2023 21:12:40
Possibly cifuentes, we signed him for nominal fee instead mate.

2.) 17 Nov 2023 23:06:20
As Stevie signed it was cifu and we signed him.

3.) 17 Nov 2023 23:13:34
I thought it was in addition to Cifu but maybe you're right Stevie. Thanks.

4.) 18 Nov 2023 11:32:34
There was definitely another name mentioned. Somebody that said their source told them.

5.) 18 Nov 2023 13:07:45
There was talk of a really good centre half becoming availible.
Think Tom had hinted at this but there was others.
Is it maybe this?
Was it a South American centre half?

6.) 18 Nov 2023 15:38:18
I recall talk of a defender and a South American striker we were keeping tabs on, same kinda structure to Morelos young and promising, was doing well. But this was a while ago.

7.) 18 Nov 2023 21:36:15
We apparently had ring fenced money for ztillman and sands as well and that was nonsense if any 1 was targeted in the summer it would've been Beale so straight away I'd be wary.

8.) 21 Nov 2023 10:03:15
It wasn’t nonsense Munich pulled the deal hence a pay off and we changed our mind on Sands.

15 Nov 2023 15:57:43
Anyone hearing anything about Lundstrum being offered or about to be offered a contract extension?

TheKiltedFrog

1.) 15 Nov 2023 16:55:56
I hope so as he’s a man rejuvenated.

2.) 15 Nov 2023 17:01:08
Kilted in discussion re two year extension.

3.) 15 Nov 2023 17:19:55
No news I would like to see players like Jack and Lundstram get a new deal to help with the rebuild.

4.) 15 Nov 2023 17:52:52
Hopefully on less money our wage bill is to high and he’s a top earner.

5.) 15 Nov 2023 18:32:11
Lundstram has improved significantly and is a player who you can rely on being fit consistently so I’m fine with him getting one. Jack we need to wait and see. Roofe and Barasic I hope don’t get one imo.

6.) 15 Nov 2023 18:50:52
I was one that wanted him gone under Beale but he has had a massive turn around in form for Clement and we should offer him a deal.

Hopefully he can keep current level of performance up he's easy been second best player under Clement only behind butland.

7.) 15 Nov 2023 19:10:35
The thing with lundstram is I feel he gets it. He knows what it means to play for us even tho form has dipped at times. Only thing missing of late is some tough tackling. Let other teams know he’s there.

8.) 15 Nov 2023 19:13:46
I was dead against that a few weeks ago. Still think we should be aiming a bit higher he has never shown consistency throughout his spell at us. Patches here and there he has done well. If he can keep this form up be hard not to offer him one though.
Jack, barasic and roofe are a definite release for me.

9.) 15 Nov 2023 19:40:35
I would imagine that the reason he`s a high earner is that he was signed on a free and therefore negotiates the equivalent of a transfer fee, be paid to him . Still better value than paying £4.5million for a player and also paying him big wages,

10.) 15 Nov 2023 20:41:30
Agree he's been rejuvenated, only concern is I did hear that he always puts the effort in to get a new contract, then drops down again, don't think Clement would stand for that anyway and on a free he's been decent value, especially with right players around him.

11.) 15 Nov 2023 20:46:54
Cheers John, that's good news and hopefully he signs.

12.) 15 Nov 2023 21:02:58
Am sure PC knows what he needs going forward - but it shows from performances that Lundstram was also playing below a certain standard so feel that all 3 could be replaced but with current monetary restraints we could see at least one of them staying - hopefully the days of paying big salaries slows and we can get younger hungrier players coming from leagues where a decent wage from Rangers is extremely appealing with an incentive side to the contract - they win and we win without us being taken as mugs! The buying of older players with no resale value needs to stop for our club to progress and grow!

13.) 16 Nov 2023 04:20:42
Many of this squad have been rejuvenated in the past, only to be posted missing in big games and down tools when things get tough. Wouldn't offer him a new deal, but that's just my opinion.

14.) 16 Nov 2023 14:37:49
Lunny probably doesn’t deserve another contract on long term form.
He’s only upped his game since clement came in.

I’d like him as a squad player but we need better in the 11 to progress, however if he takes a wage cut I’d give him 2 year deal.

Morning all,

Just a quick visit to say I hope you all had a good Christmas. I don't know if it snowed everywhere over there but family in Aberdeenshire had a white Christmas which I'm totally envious of. It looked wonderful.

Take care of each other.

PS- In today's market Shankland is worth 4m all day long.

Glasgow had its usual gale force wind and rain.

22 Dec 2023 09:03:05
Well lads and lassies,

I'm nearly ready to sign off and head home to my parents for a peaceful relaxing Christmas.

Before I go let me just say, cherish those around you over the holidays and those that are no longer here too. This will be my first Christmas without any of my grandparents which will be tough as they've always been part of my Christmases. So I know this time of year can be difficult for some, but please don't go through it alone, there will always be someone to listen to you and help. Reach out to family, friends, or a charity, or post on here and I and I'm sure others will be about to chat.

Take care of yourselves, and good health to you all.

That’s what I like about this site, posters from Scotland (of course) NI, England, Scandinavia, Australia, and more, Rangers are a family.

2.) 22 Dec 2023 11:33:30
indeed thoughts are with all, its either a great time for some or hell for others. spare a thought for those who have noone to share this time with and be grateful for what you have.

merry christmas to all and wish you all health and happiness.

3.) 22 Dec 2023 12:46:20
Enjoy kilted, merry Xmas hope to see you posting after new year, good luck pal.

4.) 22 Dec 2023 15:07:13
Have a good one pal.

5.) 22 Dec 2023 16:45:28
Beautiful words Kilted. All the very best to you and your sadly depleted family. Try to do something special in memory of those you have lost.

21 Dec 2023 09:43:02
I managed to catch some highlights from last night and from what I saw of Dowell he looked the best player on the pitch to me. I had high hopes for him so fingers crossed this is when he starts to show what he's capable of.

TheKiltedFrog

1.) 21 Dec 2023 10:10:11
Yes think dowell was probably our best player last night. Really hope lundstram makes the celtic game tho.

2.) 21 Dec 2023 10:21:26
Tav the best player on the pitch for me again last night ?Assisted dessers for our first goal and dispatched his penalty with applomb for our second goal ?But i agree i thought dowell played well, as did dessers and sterling ?.

3.) 21 Dec 2023 10:54:16
From a viewing point of view it was probably the worst game of football I've seen all season. If its Dowell and Stirling on the 30th it's not going be pretty for us.

4.) 21 Dec 2023 11:27:56
was never going to be the best game, with the way St J set up and made worse when they went down to 10. really boring to watch but job done.

5.) 21 Dec 2023 12:19:58
Thought he lost the ball a lot, but glad nobody is on here slating him for it. Played forward and risky passes and we have been crying out for that from that position for a while.

Given he hasn't played in months there were promising signs.

6.) 21 Dec 2023 12:38:52
Fergie1 you can only pee with the you know you've got mate ? If it were to pass and it was sterling and dowell in our midfield against them then clement will have a plan and it doesn't need to be pretty, to get a result pal ? We're now well in this title race and they know it ???.

7.) 21 Dec 2023 12:54:00
Its no wonder scottish football is stuck in a timewarp with managers like craig levein still getting a job.

8.) 21 Dec 2023 12:59:35
Dowell played some good passes but still looked a bit off the pace to me . Lack of match practice probably . He has proved he can play so let's hope he can really get going for us now . I thought McCausland and Tavernier were our two best last night though.

9.) 21 Dec 2023 13:14:49
Dowell and Stirling have zero experience of playing celtic. Most of these games are win in the middle of the park do no I'm not at the wind up Walter.

10.) 21 Dec 2023 13:35:03
celtic ain't good in the middle of the park either fergie, we should target thier poor fullbacks.

11.) 21 Dec 2023 15:40:06
Sterling played in our last game against celtic, Ababa hardly touched the ball because of him.

15 Dec 2023 09:37:36
I'm big enough to say when I'm wrong. I judged Sima on his time in France and he has already made me eat my words. Now Sterling is making me eat them again, he was fantastic when he came on last night. Really happy for the guy and looking forward to him starting more.

I thought Lunny was class and cifu was brilliant until he went off. Hopefully the club is doing everything it can to persuade Lunny to sign a new contract. His performance last night will definitely have grabbed the attention of other clubs.

One last mention. You guys know how highly I regard Clement, he's such a great guy, modest, selfless, professional, an incredible people person and leader. The effect he's had since he arrived is fantastic.

TheKiltedFrog

1.) 15 Dec 2023 14:39:52
Yeah sterling was good last night, as was the man he replaced. Can't actually believe someone on the live chat asked if sterling had touched the ball yet, with 70 odd minutes on the clock. No idea what game they were watching.

29 Nov 2023 10:53:20
Where do people here find their stats and information? I'm genuinely curious.

According to some of you Dowell's injury record is horrific and Norwich fans hardly ever saw him! Apart from the fact he was in their match day squad over 100 times and started 75 games in the 3 seasons he was there. He missed 3 months because of ankle surgery.

Source: Norwich City's own website.

Compared to the likes of Souttar and Roofe, Dowell's injury record is great.

2.) 29 Nov 2023 13:33:00
Rod ???.

3.) 29 Nov 2023 13:50:26
He had a couple of bad injuries in his last season with Norwich and was rehabbing when we signed him. That's the reason that I would have been doubtful about signing him. Too much of a risk alongside others we had, and we signed with similar problems. If he is fit, he has the talent to make an impact on us. He has a cracking left foot which gives us balance but he really needs to get up to speed and prove it to the boss in training. His goal against Livvy showed what he can do, but is he over his last injury yet? That's the question.

4.) 29 Nov 2023 14:46:06
That's all by the bye. The truth is, he's now been training for weeks and still can't make our match day squad when other midfielders are out injured/ suspended. Clement can't fancy him, so time to move on.

5.) 29 Nov 2023 16:12:13
Kilted. A good source re injury history is Transfermarkt.

Type in players name, transfermarkt, injury history.

Gives u dates of games missed, type of injury and amount of games he missed each time.

6.) 29 Nov 2023 16:18:29
We need to stop signing players recovering from injury or with previous injury records. Simples. It rarely, if ever, works out and has cost us multi millions over the years. Would rather see us signing fit and healthy players with potential like we have just done with McCausland.

7.) 29 Nov 2023 17:54:21
Many times his niggles were not reported and he was on bench because of said injuries just like we have/ had guys like jack kamara lundstrum on bench or taking injections to be available.

Kilted frog your not second profile for mustard/ Beale65 are you ?.

8.) 29 Nov 2023 17:55:09
Transfer market has now went add supported John ☹️ still decent though.

9.) 29 Nov 2023 18:01:08
John, that is where i looked at linked with him, was only showing you about three months.

10.) 29 Nov 2023 18:34:25
Aside from his injuries clement has stated we have too many players in some positions and not enough in others. i'm presuming he means the attacking mid positions which Dowell is. He is clearly behind lammers, cantwell and lawrence. He isn't going to play on either wing. Sell in jan is possible.

11.) 29 Nov 2023 20:22:27
Cool my srtar. When I looked at it listed three injuries
2021 ankle surgery

Then two last season.

12.) 29 Nov 2023 21:22:44
John that wasn't last season it was a couple of years ago a ankle injury, he had one last season and missed many games for us this season, maybe unhappy up here, i thought he do well.

13.) 29 Nov 2023 21:51:32
He had two muscle injuries at Norwich last year.

14.) 29 Nov 2023 23:09:48
Thanks John, looks like a good site with a lot of information on it. Dowell is only showing the three months out at Norwich, no recent injuries are listed.

15.) 30 Nov 2023 00:22:13
Don't think we can sell in January if he was a free signing.

Sure you have to have them for a year before can sell.

There is definitely a player in Cifu and we've seen glimpses of it. A loan might be worthwhile to get him playing regularly but I wouldn't be selling him any time soon, he has the potential to be an important player for us and make us good money.

I've seen a few Ligue 2 games this season and I don't see it at all. He can definitely do better than Bordeaux and Ligue 2 but a star? Comparing him to Bahoya who's just been snapped up by E. Frankfurt, Bahoya will be huge, Vipotnik, not so sure. Just my 2 Euros worth.
