Going to ask the question. Lots saying names on here as they want them back.
Are you basing it on when they were here or have you looked at them over the last 1/2 seasons and their stats are good and they are playing well?
We shouldn't still want players because they were here 2/3/4 years ago.
We should be basing it on: are they still playing well, are their stats good, have they got something to offer.
This recruitment drive is worrying. I almost feel that Purdy and Thelwell are in a revenge mission and trying to implode us.
From what I have seen and heard, it seems to be lazy recruitment.

Tav and Meghoma rumours have already been doing the rounds. Could be them. They were a part of a team that failed last season, so if we want more of the same, surely we can do better than that? If true, it is time to start firing people, Purdy and Thelwell Jnr for starters.

If James Tavernier signed with us today he would start tonight. He would be one of the first names on the team-sheet. He would provide much needed width, and creativity from wide areas. We could benefit from his set-pieces.
He would probably be our top scorer right now.
Yet, some are willing to walk away from this club if he ever comes back. We really have become a toxic club that just hates itself to death.

All I can say is I think any links to Tav seem far fetched when there's been clear noises that the club have tried to clear out the old 'leadership group'. There are plenty of other names that could be more attractive though: Cerny; Sima; Patterson; Morre; Zukowski (as a CF this time!?); Buff (🤣).
Surely not Kent, but I'm amazed how his career has turned out after he left us. Real talent there that seems to have been thrown away, sadly.

imo, this would be a sensible move. Majority on here did not want him to leave last season and felt he should have been ahead of Arrons and Meghoma.

Don't mind re-signing ex players, but they have to actually improve our starting lineup.
Whatever happened to the idea of signing someone better than currently in the team to make the 1st team player either improve or that player then becomes the squad player.
