I can assure HE WANTS to come. The delay was Leicester appointing new manager before sanctioning any sales. He asked to be excused from flying as he has already agreed terms in principal with Rangers.
His new manager was just in the door when they had to fly out for planned pre season training camp and agreed to have a sit down with Connor when they were away.
Coady requested to play at weekend to keep up his fitness and manager was happy to have him in there while he waits to get his replacement in which should be concluded over next few days as they have bid for 2 new CHs with Souttar being asked to find new club due to Leicesters finances and his huge wage even with the relegation wage decrease.
Rangers have lodged £1.5m bid for Coady and are hopeful this can be concluded asap, Leicesters asking price is £2m with Coady being 32 and in last year of contract we have made 3 official bids, £1m, £1.2m and now £1.5m so deal can't be far away.
I am happy to be shot down just telling what I've been told by someone who has his finger on the pulse that I respect.

To me it seems he's not allowed to go until they've found a replacement or a new manager has sanctioned. Doesn't make any sense he's wanting to move and Rangers have been given enough comfort to proceed (if we have) for his wife to just turn around and say no… oh wait, just thought about my wife! It's possible ?.

SWS - no idea. Not heard or seen anything conclusive. If we were seriously wanting him, and the fee is around £1.5m, my opinion is that it would've been done sharpish. But if a poster has been told something and feels it worth posting, I'll happily respect that unless o know for a fact otherwise. And I don't know.

Surely by definition it is a rumour and no-one actually knows it or that would be a fact. sometimes though some of the rumours have just a little too much detail.
not decrying the rumour but what do people think of the rumour that the player asked not to fly but was turned down and then asked to play to keep fitness up and it was approved (from the start and as captain) . does that sound plausible? also to be able to speak to a player we need permission.
BTW I don't care if the deal happens or not just happen to be able to think through the claims being made and seeing the issues with what is being said.

I hope the Coady transfer does happen, at first I thought no, too old, no sell on etc, etc but the more this rumbles on the more I'm beginning to like the idea.
His experience is invaluable, he is a leader, a talker and his attitude is fantastic. Him being a bit of a Rangers fan then he will understand what it means to wear that badge. Although he isn't the quickest his reading of the game should see him excellent. In my opinion a team needs experience through the spine of the team and good communicators all over the pitch.
So I would now welcome Coady without arms.

Regarding the Coady situation. Their new manager surely wouldn't play someone who wanted to leave 'just to keep fitness up' certainly wouldn't make him captain! He'd surely play the players who were going to be in his plans for the season ahead. Imagine if Tavernier was speaking to other clubs and was a certainty to leave, it'd be nonsensical for Martin to play him and even more so to play him as captain. Pre-season is all about getting the players ready for the season ahead, why play someone who isn't going to be in the team.
