Read on X last night any deal for Poku less than 50/ 50 because the player wants 30k pw. Has any of our ITK posters heard anything?

Agree3 Disagree0

18 Jun 2025 12:36:43
If true he's looking for 30k he'll not be a Rangers player I wouldn't imagine.

18 Jun 2025 12:50:44
Its for this reason that its probably best staying clear of the english market. Over inflated prices and wages.

18 Jun 2025 12:52:48
Agree we could get 2 decent ooc wingers for that.

18 Jun 2025 12:59:28
Is Coady also looking for 30k.

18 Jun 2025 13:01:23
Well if rumours are true we won't pay anything near that.

18 Jun 2025 13:05:18
Not specifically talking about this deal - however this is why NK stated that it was difficult to find value in the English market.

18 Jun 2025 13:08:59
These reports were a month ago and refuted.

18 Jun 2025 13:20:57
If reports of our interest are true then we would have found out about wages sooner than now.

However what is clear is that nobody in the media has a clue what we are targeting. It's guess after guess after guess.

18 Jun 2025 13:47:54
There was a thing on YouTube a couple of days ago with salaries, and all seemed reasonable till it got to those who came up from England, Dowell, Matondo, Davis etc, suddenly the salaries almost doubled!
If we are really taking a different strategy with salaries/ contracts etc, we should steer well clear of the English market imo.

18 Jun 2025 14:01:19
The problem with free agents is that they know clubs don't have to pay a fee so the players agent Always wants higher wages.

18 Jun 2025 14:38:33
Bang on Rusty.

18 Jun 2025 14:40:09
Lot of interest in Poku, several clubs chasing his signature.

18 Jun 2025 14:41:29
Usually signing on fees can be spread over contract on top of wages, end of the day if the over all contract is too much we move on.

18 Jun 2025 14:50:07
This has came from Birmingham allegedly offering him 30k a week OWS.

18 Jun 2025 15:30:37
Exactly why we shouldn't be in this market and the reason why our wage bill took a huge hit last time. Hopefully this new board are not as daft as they seem and are actually looking elsewhere.

18 Jun 2025 15:37:29
This is why I'm a little disappointed that Nils Koppen left. I loved the idea of searching for hidden gems in new markets but if early signs are to be believed, then we're back shopping in english lower leagues. Koppen was right when he said its hard to get value for money.

18 Jun 2025 15:37:54
Tbh due to the minimal fee for him he prob can command a bigger salary. If we were buying him whilst in contract we would be paying a fair few million. That will also be while we are more appealing to him than some of the other offers he no doubt has.

18 Jun 2025 15:45:34
Lol going to be another one of these transfer windows because we haven't learned any lessons about avoiding england for transfers.

18 Jun 2025 15:48:22
Stay away from this market, good deals to be made all over Europe and beyond, exactly what someone else has stated, it's how we got into this mess.

18 Jun 2025 15:59:24
In terms of signing on fees for out of contract players from England.

We have in our recent history paid in excess of £3m to 'lure' players to our league for timed and £4m once.

That's £13m for 4 players that are considered 'free'.

I'd class 2 of those players as awful signings, one a average and one decent.

18 Jun 2025 16:00:39
Muscat this is media speculation mate, you think Rangers are interested in all these players getting linked? nothing much is getting out and they are only looking for clicks, Dessers was away for just over 3m the other day.

18 Jun 2025 16:23:39
He'd probably just get a bigger signing on fee?

18 Jun 2025 17:00:30
I agree 30k is too much although be disappointed if this one didn't go through as he looked a player.

18 Jun 2025 17:15:59
Those are astronomical signing on fees, EHL. I dread to think who we paid them to. There is so much money in the English leagues that we really need to look for much better value from new markets abroad instead.

18 Jun 2025 17:23:20
Letting Koppen go was very silly, as all the young raw talents he had lined up for us, will not be coming now.
The guy has a solid track record of buying rising young players that have went on to be worth good money, look at PSV now if you need any proof, shame Rangers didn;t have the same vision and allow Nils to make his mark and rebuild us into a CHampions League quality side again like he did at PSV.

18 Jun 2025 17:50:31
LaudrupHagi - should we have 'forced' NK to stay?

Also, keen to understand who the young raw talent that are no longer going to be signing are?

Lastly, where does our vision and NKs vision differ?

18 Jun 2025 18:02:31
U r correct ehl, 2 million sign on for poke over four years, 20 k a week wages.

18 Jun 2025 18:03:54
Laudrup go look what we gave Ariel, eye watering.

18 Jun 2025 18:13:45
It's amazing how so many are experts at running clubs on here. Even more than the new owners who had to spend £100m for the privilege.

Already we have them pegged as sloppy, careless, wrong, late, slow, blah blah blah!

?.

18 Jun 2025 19:36:44
Butland
Aribo
Lawrence
Dowell
?

18 Jun 2025 20:18:15
John not sure what you are talking about, who is Ariel?
was that in reply to another post perhaps?

18 Jun 2025 22:17:06
Laudrup i'm sure its about the amount of money we gave aribo john is meaning and auto correct has changed it.

19 Jun 2025 00:57:28
EHL2020, did Koppen not have Metihno, Pizarro and Camara as well as a several young talented young defenders lined up as potential new signings? are they still coming now? surely they are if Koppens vison for Rangers rebuild and playing trading model is the same as now correct?
