Can't see if this has been posted anywhere but Belgian media are reporting that Raskin's entourage are "not adverse to leaving" us and in the same article Clement has talked him up and said he could go to a mid table prem team and he needs to make a decision "now".

Clement also took credit for improving Raskin "tactically" as he was a "firefighter" who would go out of position to save others from the mistakes they made.

Agree1 Disagree0

Good that he is being talked up as if he is going to leave we want a much as possible.

Clement may be right as he did tend to run around all over the pitch so the coaches must have been working with him as that wasn't as evident later in the sEason. think of Barron as well as he wasn't charging around everywhere later as he did in early season and started to come on to a game.

05 Jun 2025 13:19:55
Im sure raskin also said he would stay as long as we wanted him.

That being said 20m would be very welcome to the new rebuild we are facing.

05 Jun 2025 13:22:03
Pizarro lad we are apparently watching is very similar to Raskin so I wouldn't be surprised if we cashed in if decent offer is made although most of the chat seems to be diomande moving on this summer, wouldn't like to lose both.

05 Jun 2025 13:26:46
Clement is a better manager than Russell Martin. Clement got hung out to dry by the board and senior member players. I really hope Martin doesn't fall for the Tavernier as captain routine we have seen all to often.

05 Jun 2025 13:31:23
Tbf the improvement in raskin under clement from previous seasons is night and day. So I wouldn't begrudge him that claim.

05 Jun 2025 13:33:46
Sounds like Raskin or his agent might have stayed in touch with PC and now PC is touting him in the media. Heard weeks ago that he is actively seeking a move.

05 Jun 2025 13:34:39
Coully I've also heard dio raskin and iga could all be sold to raise around 45 for club with about 30 going in to transfers but that's probably never going to happen.

05 Jun 2025 13:48:19
Raskin telling fans what they want to hear. Needs sold or will walk out for nothing.

05 Jun 2025 13:51:05
Agreed Cole15 - RM should keep Tavs at arms length and ideally should be looking at replacing him full stop? new broom hopefully does sweep clean.

05 Jun 2025 13:51:59
As I've said before, Raskin's agent is agitating for a move but the player likes it here. I'd offer him an extra year and make him captain and if he doesn't accept that, then we sell him. 2 years on his deal and currently fit and a Belgian international. Big fee plus sell on %.

05 Jun 2025 13:54:19
Why sell our best players build a team round them otherwise all we are doing is buying project players again and falling behind for another 2 years then selling them. Dio igamane and raskin are the 3 players we should heavily invest in, contract wise.

05 Jun 2025 14:00:42
May be just a coincidence, but Raskin seemed to find a new dimension when Ferguson took over.

05 Jun 2025 14:12:04
I think Raskin and Dio could go this window and expect Igamane to stay for another season, hopefully his development continues on right trajectory.

05 Jun 2025 14:14:00
Is raskin plays as well for the rest of his contract as he has to date he will get a great club no problem he knows that.
He's under no obligation to sign a extension to his contract therefore we must not make the Morelos mistake and sell and re invest.

05 Jun 2025 14:18:33
Honestly don't think we could afford Raskins pay rise now. Belgian international will be looking for at 40k a week to sign a new contract.

05 Jun 2025 14:22:25
What we need to do is offer him a new 4 year deal on improved terms with a buyout of £20m and a wage to Math our valuation.
We then sell him in a year if that's what he wants.

05 Jun 2025 14:24:02
Ibrox, completely agree. I'd love to see him captain next season. Tav would be gone.
Huge summer of recruitment ahead. We can't get much wrong.

05 Jun 2025 14:26:31
I agree Ibrox. I hope we offer him a new contract and offer him the captains role and if he turns us down he must go. Can't afford to let him run down his contract ?.

05 Jun 2025 14:32:04
Got a feeling if epl club interested he will want to go, it will be all about negotiating a decent fee and sell on, hopefully the new guys hold there ground and get us decent cash to reinvest. No player is bigger than the club, and no player should ever be able to run down his contract ever again.

05 Jun 2025 14:46:13
Even if he signs until 2028 slight pay rise and told if we get a good enough offer he'll be sold, doesn't sign for another year he needs to be sold now, wouldn't be surprised if we sell him and Diomande, we need more funds to make us a better.

05 Jun 2025 14:49:11
I thought raskin was improved once Barry came in certainly he git into more attacking areas i thought.

05 Jun 2025 15:11:05
The decision would be taken out of his hands if big offer comes in from club in one of the big leagues. Club would want the money to support rebuild. Would hate to see him go and want him as captain next season but we can't lose him for nothing in 2 years time.

05 Jun 2025 15:18:33
Either Raskin signs a new deal NOW or we need to sell him to get the maximum amount.

05 Jun 2025 15:29:13
Are we keeping the morocan coach?

05 Jun 2025 15:48:34
I reckon another good performance for belgium this week will see interest from teams for raskin, £20m starting price.

05 Jun 2025 15:51:47
Raskin has never hid the fact he seen Rangers as a stepping stone to a bigger club. He said it when he joined Rangers.

05 Jun 2025 15:52:45
We are trying to build a trading model, we can't be stuck in the past with let's hold on to him approach because he is our best player.

Only our best players will interest wealthier clubs so these are the players we need to make a profit on.

It's a different approach and many will feel uncomfortable but as long as we keep buying wisely in replacing those we sell, will become our best players and then they be sold and the conveyor belt is running.

We have been poor, very poor with player sales. Like many businesses we need to turnover and profit on our stock regularly.

Make hay when the sun is shining!

05 Jun 2025 15:57:03
Negri the Morrocon coach is getting picked up by a parks minibus and driven to Glasgow airport. I heard he is getting a first class flight with Stevie G out to Prague where they are going on a 4 day salami and strippers bender. ?.

05 Jun 2025 15:57:11
Agree with John256, players will tell fans what they want to hear, I'd be disappointed if he wasn't privately wanting to better himself in a bigger league. If we don't sell, he becomes another Kent, Morelos etc.

05 Jun 2025 15:59:58
Both Clement and Ferguson improved him this season in different areas.

05 Jun 2025 16:01:21
My star spot on Dio is in the same boat as are any of our best players. Sign extensions or to be sold. Unfortunately we also have a large number of players that haven't got what it takes to play for us and will find it difficult to shift. So we may see some players here that we may only be able to loan out or go for peanuts.

05 Jun 2025 16:21:37
Thought Charai was linked to Beerschot in Belgium as someone posted this earlier in the week.

05 Jun 2025 16:31:08
I reckon we will let one of our assets leave and I think that Raskin is most likely that one.

I think Raskin and Dio as 8's in Martin's system would flourish but if we can cash in on Raskin plus the some of the 20m investment then we are looking at a good sum of money to play with.

Obviously they could all go or all stay or maybe the dross going alone gives us a good chunk to spend but I feel as much as we know Raskin needs to go if he's not extending, I believe the club will very much be aware of that as well.

05 Jun 2025 16:43:35
Negri imo no.

05 Jun 2025 19:00:28
Manager . manager who let's start debating future team players, did not take long ??.

05 Jun 2025 21:20:33
A lot of good points above. Ibeix is bang on. Offer the new deals if the font sign we need to sell them. With a good sell on.
McMilst has the right view. If they sign he is the backbone we build around.

05 Jun 2025 21:31:05
I tend to agree with john here i think raskin will let contract run down why would you sign a new deal when you know teams are circling a longer contract just makes a preferred move more difficult

Also on diomande think the everton link makes total sense with the release of doucoure also everton might find it easier to deal with former employee thelwell

I just fear we are still going to see cost cutting in the type of options we bring into the club just hope standard of player is decent i so want to get behind this project hoping we have more of likes igamane nsiala type signings and less of the warburton lower league engliah signings.

After dust settled on manager choice i'm still hopefull on signings and i'm realistic on that we might not keep likes of igamane raskin dio.
