We criticise a manager for failing to take a hardline stance.
And when he does – it's "poor Tav".
We criticise the owners for inaction and communication.
And when they do – it's "but I don't want Rohl".
We criticise the lack of time afforded to our managers.
And when we finally do – it's a case of "aye, but not him".
We criticise the lack of investment in the team.
And when we do – it's "but I wouldn't pay that for him".
And on the list goes.
And that's the beauty of football.
Opinions make us all experts.
I'm personally glad that Rohl has been given the opportunity to start the season.
I'm interested to see what he can achieve with a full pre-season with the squad and some new additions.
I'm glad that the last of the old guard have finally left.
I'm excited to see if Chermiti can become the Rangers Number 9 we all crave.
I'm keen to see if Findlay Curtis can become a valuable part of the squad next season.
For me, every season is a fresh start.
Time will tell.

I can't wait until we start to announce the restructure of footballing operations, and half the forum find a reason to get excited about the appointment of a new data scientist, and the other half lose the plot as sports science is a myth!

Completely agree. The revolving door for managers must stop at some point. Let DR have his window and a preseason. With new squad leadership, who knows, the attitude of our squad might as well.
I have hope for next season. Hearts will be dismantled and have to start again. Players will be sold. Celtic still need a manager and a rebuild. There is no reason why DR can't do a job this season.

The only hope I have is that Cavanagh confirms that we are going to sign experienced players and leaders. The owners have finally learned that Rangers is not a project club.

Great post, Mph. I was swayed by the 4 losses in a row that the club might need to change manager, but with it now confirmed Rohl will remain, I'm happy enough. I was never fully keep it sack, but swayed around that mid point of indecision.
We now have stability in the coaching team, and I expect a core of the "raw talent" as Cavanagh put it to stay and the leadership group to be completely changed.
This, to me, is the exciting part, and it's those guys who set the standards in training and around the ground, which is something that clearly needed changing as per Moore's interview.
Exciting times and I hope to see some title winners, captains and experience join to compliment players like Chermiti, Naderi, Rommens, Fernandez. The fact I'm struggling with the midfield shows where a big issue of our squad has been.

Great post Mph. The second-guessing needs to stop. I'm excited for next season, but then I usually have big expectations.
Retaining the manager is a good move, and gives us some pre-season stability for once.

What we need to remember with Rohl is he's a young coach who will learn from this season. Coming in when he did, and to have us going for the title with a few games to go, is a remarkable achievement given where we were after the Russell Martin debacle. I'm not saying Danny Rohl is the answer; however, he inherited his squad last season.
This season, he gets a chance to bring in players who fit his system, so let's see what happens. Personally, I would give him next season, and, come this time next year, review his position.

I will be keeping an eye on the restructure with interest, John, but I have other plans for next season.

Totally agree, John. EHL, we'd be stronger with u at the club, is my feeling.
However, it may be best to wait til Rohl has moved on, as he won't be there long.
