Here's a question to one and all the posters on here.I think the vast majority know youssef Chermiti is a talented striker and will only get better and better, as he's still only 21 years old ?My question is do we think he'll go on to become a prolific goalscorer as his career goes on ? He has everything in his locker and scores some superb goals with the talent he has, but has to be a bit more composed on his one on ones ?

Chermiti will be one of these players, we say, remember we had him. Great potential.
15 Apr 2026 08:52:54
Play him beside someone who can score goals, and let him rumble up the CH and create chances for the poacher.
15 Apr 2026 08:59:41
Chermiti has unbelievable potential a think he will Finnish top scorer in the league this season. A know he's got bit to do to get there a just have a feeling he will kick on and go on a run. A honestly can't understand why people can't see his quality & for me he doesn't have a limit to how far he can go in the game, probably the first forward we've had who could play for Barcelona, obviously that all depends on how hard he works & develops.
For me, goes right to the top.

A lot of people said throughout the year he was improving, all he needed to do was add goals. If he can do that, he will be a player. Sunday was a good start to the last few games. If he shoots us to the title, that will do for me.
15 Apr 2026 09:28:31
Kipbear, I can't see him being top goalscorer. He is 6 behind the Motherwell striker, 4 behind Nygren and 3 behind Braga and Shankland. Some of those players will score also. He would need to go on some run to finish top.
15 Apr 2026 10:00:18
My question was, guys, can Chermiti become a prolific goalscorer through time. ?
15 Apr 2026 10:09:05
I don't see any reason why he can't. As experience grows, his decision making will improve. He already has a number of great attributes!
I do very much see us struggling to keep hold of him for more than another season or two, though, as he has the potential to reach the very top.
As I've said previously, at the same age, Shankland, who many on here have alluded to as a missed opportunity, couldn't buy a goal in the Scottish Championship, whereas we have a player who has scored double figures in the Premiership this season.
I have no doubt that if he were to remain at Rangers until he was aged 30, that he would be just as, if not more prolific than Shankland, however I just don't see it happening.

A lot of where he ends depends on the boy himself, certainly easy to see to a full international, but avoid injury and stic at it, the world could be his oyster.
15 Apr 2026 10:45:16
Coops, it's hard, but he has reached double figures in his 1st full season, so I would be inclined to say yes at our level, but whether he can do it higher will remain to be seen until he leaves and does it.
15 Apr 2026 10:46:01
Coops, you asked that a while back, tbh he's doing OK and improving, I don't think he will be here long enough to be prolific for us, probably someone else imo.
15 Apr 2026 11:20:59
His game would need to be upped ten fold for him to play for Barcelona. He needs to smash it in SPL before anything else. I see a lot of good in his game, but also loads that need to be worked on as well.
15 Apr 2026 11:35:48
Don't think Chermiti will ever be a prolific goalscorer. Not sure what he has done to date to think he will play for Barcelona. We say young at 21, Barcelona & other a you player to them is 18.
15 Apr 2026 11:38:58
His goals will come sws, he'll get far more composed with experience, first proper season, very talented young footballer with great ability, he'll go far in the game.
15 Apr 2026 12:12:07
He has all the attributes required, he has age, height, pace, and his overall game has come on leaps and bounds this year, and, as Storm said, he just needed to add goals.
If he continues on his trajectory, then we will have some player on our hands, or that we sold for more than we paid.
Only time will tell, but I don't think he will play for a top top team, but definitely in a top 5 league again.
15 Apr 2026 12:19:17
He certainly has a lot of talent, the problem has been some of his finishing at times could be better. But he should only get better - has all the attributes.
15 Apr 2026 12:23:59
Glad he's gone from CherMissi to ChermHiti, but got a long way to go. Try and imagine Barcelona. Tons of potential, but he's still trying to justify the fee we paid.
15 Apr 2026 12:58:39
Not if he keeps doing what he's doing, score a couple in a game then miss sitters for the next five matches. He has the tools to do well, but if he can't add consistent finishing to that, he won't progress to a higher level.
Someone has said that he will be the league's top scorer this season. If he does that, we will win the league.
15 Apr 2026 13:40:06
What do you mean by prolific, SWS?
Are you talking a Kane, Haaland etc?
Which I don't see.
I see him averaging about 10/15 a season over his career.
Though if he stays at Rangers another year, I hope I am wrong.
15 Apr 2026 14:05:19
I will say yes, his all round play is good, he gets the chances and maybe gets a bit excited and lashes at the ball, but remember he's only 21. Once he settles down and puts away the chances, I could see him being a 25+ goal scorer.
15 Apr 2026 14:06:42
MPH, I'm talking about him scoring between 20-25 a season, mate. ? Can he get to that goal scoring level? ?
15 Apr 2026 14:59:08
No chance then, SWS.
He doesn't get into any top club in the top 5 leagues.
And therein lies the problem.
Chances are few and far between for the lesser clubs.
Only 5 players scored more than 20+ league goals in the EPL last season - Salah, Wood, Isak, Mbeumo & Haaland.
Season before, only 3 - Haaland, Palmer & Isak.
Season before, 3 again - Haaland, Kane & Toney.
Season before, only 2 - Salah & Son.
With all the best will in the World, Chermiti - imo - will never reach that level.
15 Apr 2026 15:37:33
The question re prolific goalscorer is interesting. First, define prolific.
I wrote last week about goals scored and this target of 20, that's a fans thing.
All the big clubs get interested in young players who deliver 12-15 league goals in a season. Hence why we will see interest in Chermiti, he will move to a bigger league, if he continues with 12-15 he then interests the big boys.
EPL, with exception of Halland and Semenyo, no one has scored more than 15 goals.
Average is 10-12. Look at money spent Gyokores, Isak, Ethike et al.
As I said you get double figures in your league clubs look, especially if you r young, the people I was with last week don't expect Rangers to be able to hold on to Chermiti, one sir said he could move for a Scottish record within 18 months.
What was said was if he scored goals in Europe and got Portugal full internationals call up he's away.
Mr ph post very good re numbers, with most also taking penalties.
15 Apr 2026 16:28:54
Dearie me, Chermiti could play for Barcelona, heard it all now - if we can get our money back or better I'd sell him in the summer.
15 Apr 2026 17:17:45
Harry Kane never got close to double figures his first few seasons. Most natural finisher in the world right now. Easily imo.
This is Chermiti's first proper season. He will only learn about getting into the correct position through the experience he is getting now.
What he should already have learned is stop belting them straight down the center and into the keeper's arms. Either side he's beat. His first goal on Sunday showed us his great technical ability again.
15 Apr 2026 17:37:26
At the age of 18, Kane had 1 European goal from 6 appearances.
At the age of 20, Kane had 3 EPL league goals in 10 appearances.
At the age of 21, Kane had 21 EPL league goals in 34 appearances.
At age 18, Chermiti had 3 Portuguese League goals in 16 appearances.
From the age of 19 to 20, he scores no goals in the EPL.
At the age of 21, Chermiti has scored 11 league goals in 25 appearances.
And, you are seriously comparing the 2 players, MyStar? Jesus wept.
15 Apr 2026 19:41:51
Who is comparing the two like Mph? Outrageous how many just keep to concussion on this site, man. I'm clearly only highlighting many young cf don't start scoring regularly. He will only get far better with experience.
15 Apr 2026 19:45:19
Scored 3 in Portugal at 18/19 mph.
15 Apr 2026 19:49:31
Just keep. ?
