Would anyone take Andy Robertson who appears to be leaving Liverpool?
09 Apr 2026 20:40:37
I don't think he would ever sign for us in a million years.
09 Apr 2026 20:41:57
No, he hates Rangers.
09 Apr 2026 20:51:09
If we could get him he'd be the captain next season.
However, you'd be stunting Rommens growth as a player too.
Is it worth making Robbo our highest earner and captain when we have a really really great prospect in his position. I'd possibly pass on. Tbh.
09 Apr 2026 21:02:03
No Tims allowed.
09 Apr 2026 21:06:41
Robertson not in a million years.
09 Apr 2026 21:12:49
The only club in Scotland Andy Robertson would contemplate signing for is Celtic.
09 Apr 2026 21:31:06
Robertson would be mad to return to Scotland. He will have his choice of any country he wants to play in. Why swap those for a wet, windy day here!
09 Apr 2026 21:43:28
I'm sure Atletico Madrid are interested in him. He may well go there.
09 Apr 2026 21:49:15
Robertson will sign for a Saudi club, but I wouldn't mind Celtic signing him though, he'd be looking for a good wage, they've got Tierney on a 15m salary on his contract, so I wouldn't mind him with the same, only one would get played.
09 Apr 2026 22:10:43
You wouldn't mind Celtic signing one of the best left backs in world football? Yeah, Robertson would play and improve them tenfold. Strange take, to be honest.
09 Apr 2026 22:11:50
Andy Robertson, not a chance he would sign for us. The hatred of Rangers is dripping out of him.
09 Apr 2026 22:25:05
? You maybe think it's strange, but I wouldn't mind them paying 30m in salary for two left backs and only playing one. Robertson was one of the best lb in the world. He isn't now.
09 Apr 2026 23:35:06
Robertson has had his day. Legs have gone. Wouldn't care at all if Celtic signed him. He'll do nothing when he leaves Liverpool.
10 Apr 2026 06:08:08
He was one of the best left backs in the world 3 or 4 years ago, not now. Miles better than the SPL, but can't see him moving to a top team in a top league. He can't get a regular game for an underperforming Liverpool team.
10 Apr 2026 07:06:42
He's absolutely still one of the best, not at the level he once was, but he would be a massive upgrade and would be the best in our league. Depends what site you source, but some still have him in the top 20. He still performs to a very high level with Scotland.
I don't see why his salary is important unless you are thinking it would bankrupt them or put a significant dent in their finances, which would be a ridiculous train of thought. Why would you want them to strengthen significantly?
10 Apr 2026 07:43:19
Another old full back - no thanks. Doesn't exactly fit the player trading model we have strived for and needed for years. ?
10 Apr 2026 07:54:24
He would still be the best left back in this country if he signed for them. I don't think they will go for him when they have biscuit hips tho.
10 Apr 2026 08:11:23
I would be ecstatic if we signed Andy Robertson, but it will never happen. He's a fantastic player who would boost our team, but he would never want to play for Rangers.
10 Apr 2026 09:42:31
But not even close to the best now boom.
10 Apr 2026 10:20:39
Robertson made it very clear at QP how he despises our club.
Based on folk think one of the best in the world, I assume he will go to PSG, Bayern, Real or Barcelona.
10 Apr 2026 10:26:03
I wasn't aware he was one of them, or comments he's made, cheers for the debate. ??
10 Apr 2026 10:32:26
PSG have probably got the best, John. Robertson isn't the same player he was even last season. Top 3 lb's in the world a few years ago. Anyway, it wouldn't concern me if he signs for Celtic. They'd be paying around 150k weekly for a couple of lb's and using one. Robertson would get that salary himself in Saudi, tax free.
10 Apr 2026 12:18:14
Again, what has Celtic paying him a high salary got to do with anything? Robertson would be the best left back in Scotland by a mile. You always go on about Souttar playing well for Scotland. Well, Robertson is outstanding for Scotland. So why, in your words, is Robertson past it but you consider Souttar to be very good?
10 Apr 2026 12:29:59
John, he was one of the best, not now, and his age, and you know fine well he won't go to any of these teams.
He would without a shadow of doubt be the best in our league if he came. That is not even a debate.
10 Apr 2026 12:41:55
Boomerang, not again, Souttar is off it as well now, but not as old, just his form has been poor since returning from injury, and why are you so interested in if I'd like your club signing Robertson? Give it a break, Coldo.
Robertson just isn't the same player he was a few years ago, is all I'm saying, and I wouldn't have any concerns him signing for Celtic on his salary.
10 Apr 2026 12:50:49
Yip, he would cruise it up here for a season or two. One of my favourite players outside Rangers for years and of the very best in his position for years.
10 Apr 2026 12:50:50
Bit like Ta. ??
10 Apr 2026 13:01:09
Both opinions can be true in this instance. Is he the player he was 2 or 3 years ago, no - would he still be better than anything in Scotland, yes he would. He would be fit to play 90 minutes and would be an upgrade on Tierney, who will be lucky not to be retired by 31 or 32 years old.
They won't have both in their squad, so either they stick with Tierney or bring Robertson in and move Tierney on. Rommens looks a good acquisition by us, so not overly concerned what that mob choose to do at left back.
10 Apr 2026 13:15:24
You keep mentioning salary, but you offer no explanation as to why salary is relevant. We all know he's not the same player; however, he would be the best in our league, therefore would significantly strengthen Celtic.
10 Apr 2026 13:35:43
Just stop it, Coldo. A 5m salary is a big deal for your club, believe it or not, which I'd be happy them paying for Robertson. What part of that ain't you picking up?
Especially with the size of rebuild needed in the summer.
You're happy with them paying 5m a year salary for being better than Tierney, fair play. I'd just be happy with them paying 150k a week and playing one with the big overhaul of players needed.
10 Apr 2026 14:03:09
He'd be the 3rd best LB at Rangers behind Rommens & Meghoma. ?
10 Apr 2026 14:07:16
What is there to get if you don't explain what your point is regarding Celtic paying a big salary. So, what you have been trying to say for the last 3 or 4 posts is that a big chunk of Celtic's budget would be blown if they bought Robertson, which would mean they couldn't strengthen other areas. Is that what you have been trying to say?
So, how do you know that he would demand a salary of 5m and how do you know what Celtic's budget is?
I wouldn't be happy if Celtic signed Robertson, and I don't think most level headed Rangers fan would be either.
He would be a significant upgrade and a statement of intent from them.
10 Apr 2026 14:20:04
5m is him talking a hit, he won't be signing for Celtic anyway, rather irrelevant chat. He'd earn more than 5m tax free in Saudi.
Significant uprated a few years ago, not so much today, Coldo. I'm telling you I would not be concerned because of his salary and the overhaul of players needed at your club.
Clearly that's been too much info for you, because I've said it numerous times now. You have a great day.
10 Apr 2026 14:38:46
There's only one thing that matters in all this nonsense about Robertson. The man is a fanatical Celtic fan and a committed republican who would no more consider signing for Rangers than be a pal of Prince William.
