Putting this here, not for debate or for reply's!
It's just me making my observations of the forum.
Think everyone needs to start paying more attention to the fact the Ed's of the page have to go through all your posts these arguments and bickering
To be honest, you can see why so many posters don't contribute as much anymore.
There seems to be far more interest in bickering and point-scoring these days, and it's been going on for months. When people do try to start good debates or share rumours, those posts just get buried under constant arguing.
It also feels like certain posters back each other no matter what regardless of whether they're right or wrong and some seem to post things knowing it will spark arguments for the sake of it.
Because of that, the forum has lost a lot of genuinely insightful contributors and quality football discussion in general, which is a real shame.
I also feel for the Eds, who have to read through and manage all of it. I know they can only post what's allowed, but at times it feels like if the arguments were stopped before they escalate, there wouldn't be much left because that's what most posts seem to turn into.
It's one of the reasons I don't post as much as I used to, and why others disappear for long periods. It just becomes tedious having to scroll through so many posts to find something relevant, factual, and actually worth reading without it turning into another unnecessary argument.
I actually don't know how some have the energy for it, I really don't.

It's a discussion forum XD. You're asking for an echo chamber, this post is an example of the posts you describe.
Fans should hold each other accountable vs their own opinion and have freedom to discuss the topics they like.
How do you know it's not fans of other clubs causing trouble?
That's what makes the site popular.
03 Apr 2026 23:01:33
Stig, you are correct. I personally think, if people's responses didn't turn to insults, then there would be healthy debate.
I know you have had quite long winded posts lambasting me in the past. I've not seen a long winded support.
I imagine others are the same with other posters also.
I understand you wanting the site to have less arguments. I am with you on that quest 100%.
But silencing those with an alternative, if somewhat controversial, viewpoint is not the way to do it.
03 Apr 2026 23:27:11
Apologies if it was to annoy the Eds but I'm sure they have said it doesn't, and they can stop anything going too far anyway. I totally agree though that some of the pettiness and point scoring is annoying and repeated arguments ruin things. But as a fellow long winded waffling debater I enjoy most of what's on here. That and the fact it's split into Rumours Banter Debate and Discussion let's u cut through a lot of the nonsense if u choose to stick to facts (though even what those are seems up for debate ?).
That said I agree with a lot u say and try and keep it in mind though tend to get carried away at times. Sometimes even those who offer the most insightful contributions that are worth reading also get caught in the argumentative side of things.
03 Apr 2026 23:29:51
Stig I think the Ed's have commented on this debate is healthy
03 Apr 2026 23:56:49
Sorry Aphe, but that's not accurate.
I'm going to push back on that because I haven't "lambasted" you in long posts. Disagreeing with your points isn't the same as attacking you, and framing it that way misrepresents what's actually happened.
To be honest, I tend to stay away from your posts for my own reasons, so the idea that I've been repeatedly going after you just doesn't stack up my friend!
If you genuinely believe I've crossed a line, feel free to point out the posts and I'll hold my hands up if anything was personal but I'm confident that's not the case, and Ed's wouldn't allow it if it were personal attacks on you, as you put it!
As for this idea of "silencing alternative viewpoints no one is being silenced. There's a clear difference between expressing an opinion and how that opinion is communicated. Being challenged or disagreed with isn't censorship, it's part of a healthy discussion.
Calling it silencing is misleading. Pushback and disagreement are normal they're what keep discussions balanced.
And if the same topic is being pushed repeatedly day after day, it's understandable that people will challenge it and arguments erupt and bickering begins.
It'snotcomplicated - How do you know it's not fans of other clubs causing trouble!
You may have just hit the nail on the head and I'm now in 100% agreement with that statement.
And there I just fell into the same fecking trap feck me ?
04 Apr 2026 02:25:16
Great post, Stig. Totally 100% agree with certain posters backing others no matter what. It's actually so cringey at times, mate. Some don't know how to walk their own path, and that's ok.
04 Apr 2026 08:40:48
Most on this site support the Gers.
A lot will be of different age groups, and will have different memories i.e. the late seventies
early eighties we were pish.
Today you can post a rumour come story and some will agree and some disagree.
But if you are true blue then we follow follow.
And pay to watch utter garbage home and away.
04 Apr 2026 08:43:59
"There's a clear difference between expressing an opinion and how that opinion is communicated."
For me that line is the main reason there is so much bickering, people may have strong opinions, but may be wrong when pointed out, same as people challenging the opinion, who may be wrong, neither give way, proceeds into a drawn out argument, people supporting one side of the argument doesn't mean they "don't walk their own path", it means they agree on a point of discussion, inflames the argument further, you can debate away all day, and consensus will rarely be found.
Solution? Absolutely no idea, regardless it will continue as this stream readily demonstrates, as MFO and Ayrshire have already said.

Just carrying on from my last post as I accidentally pushed the reply button too early. ? As I finished saying there my respect for all posters on here. ? However, I do see at times that some posters give some an easy ride compared to when other posters post, and it's easy to notice, imo, and I'll be honest, I've stuck up for certain posters on here when I've thought other certain posters are constantly on their back no matter what they say and that's wrong. ? I've had it done to myself numerous times when I've took the time and effort to start an original post on here to gauge feelings and debate and been shot down and questioned from time to time by certain posters who think they're the head of the class on here and everything they say is cosha, well it's not and we're all wrong with posts on here and with info more times than not and I most definitely include myself in this.
? So, Thestigno1, I hope you go back to posting more regular again, my friend, because I like you on here as a very good poster and although I've not agreed with everything you post, I feel as if we get on respectively in general on here, pal. ? ?? Take care my friend. ?
04 Apr 2026 07:52:48
And here we have an argumentative post. The irony, but in short, why I don't post much, so I agree with the original post to a certain degree.
04 Apr 2026 08:50:04
I have time for all of you (even the zeros- they make me laugh) but some zeros are new to the page, so need integrated ?
I have seen good chatter boxes on here that are no longer and I do think of them a lot.
One day I will join that crew.
The Edds do a cracking job and know how to let it kick off and to leave it where it is. For that I thank them.
No one has been shot in the comments we share. When we have a dry time from Rangers, things get a wee bit heated, but they also get so funny.
This site is made on faceless foundations and I have made friends through that. Shut it Fork with no tongue.
I would love a day where we could all meet up and have a beer and see the person behind the keyboard, but am not keen on doing bouncer duty. ?
04 Apr 2026 08:51:48
That's a very good heartfelt post Thestigno1 ? and you know i rate and respect you as a very good poster on this superb site the ED'S give us my friend ?I admit myself i get into shall we say more deeper/more heated debates with some posters as opposed to others but hand on heart, i still respect every poster on here.
04 Apr 2026 09:17:14
Jaiket Hawder, it's your duty, my friend. ? ????
04 Apr 2026 09:26:21
Let's get the annual Ranger Rumours Gala Dinner organised, White Horse. I think that would be interesting.
The one rule is you're not allowed to disclose your username, and then at the end of the night, have a 'poll' to see who gets matched up personality wise with the usernames on here. ?
04 Apr 2026 09:32:00
That would be a giggle, Cooper. ??
04 Apr 2026 10:13:39
It would Fork. ?
04 Apr 2026 10:19:03
Great idea Cooper, get the bowling club booked £5 a ticket, sausage rolls, pieces on tuna and lots of beer and whisky. My pals got a karaoke machine. Happy days. ???
04 Apr 2026 11:29:30
Three Cheers, you forgot Stovies and Pees in vinegar, yum yum.
?????
04 Apr 2026 11:42:07
Peas n vinegar, just before the bingo, them were the days.
04 Apr 2026 11:47:06
I prefer to try and post an opinion and then that's it.
Most threads are bogged down when someone replies with the same thoughts about 5 times, thinking their opinion is fact, and the more they repeat it, the more it becomes the truth.
04 Apr 2026 12:10:17
You's can wire into the peas n vinegar and I'll tan the sandwiches. My wee maws got a bingo machine Bar that gets pulled out at Christmas time, so I'll bring that along for a bit of high tension sporting excitement.
I remember years ago I won the snowball in the pub about £200, so I just put it behind the bar and got all the fellow bingo participants a few drinks. ??
04 Apr 2026 12:43:59
I honestly don't where to start with this. People moaning about people debating on a debating site ?♂️ what is the world coming to? The stig I know your heart is in the right place but it's set people up to have a go at people. Coops for instance saying certain posters think they are head of the class. We all know who he is talking about. The problem with that is he thinks he is top dog.
I don't care if I am at the top or the bottom I just come on and give my opinion sometimes it gets out of hand but the Ed won't allow those posts go on.
You have bb4 saying people don't walk their own path for agreeing with others ?♂️.
Are two people not allowed to have the same thoughts?
I think adults using the word cringey is cringey ? ironic that.
It really isn't that deep it's a debating site you go on any all over the world they will be disagreements. Post if you want and if you don't want to then don't post.
04 Apr 2026 12:41:54
To be fair the Edds let debate flow even when it's getting a bit close to the bone, think all the posters always realise when things go too far and hold their hands up, a winning football team always makes it easier on the Edds I would think
04 Apr 2026 12:38:13
Bar, did you mean to say before the bingo or did that slip out accidentally. ??
Agree, mph, it's fine to put out your post and get a bit of back and forth, but when it's done leave it there.
04 Apr 2026 13:17:23
Bar72, got the peas and vinegar. Halftime in the Whitburn Masonic on a Saturday night. ????
