On sunday could we play Sterling at CH and Tav at right back? Big Souttar has been way off it since returning from his injury

04 Mar 2026 12:38:43
Djiga was actually playing well after coming back from AFCON. I would start him.

04 Mar 2026 12:46:25
Agree with you, Sir. If we want to play with the same formation and a back four, then I would bring Djiga in for his pace and leave Sterling at right back.

04 Mar 2026 12:52:59
Ows, if Souttar is dropped, I would prefer Djiga at CH and Sterling at RB. It gives us a bit of pace on RHS of defence and keeps people in their favoured position (although I know Sterling can play RCH).

04 Mar 2026 12:56:40
I'd rather see Sterling at CDM. Sterling can stop the forward runs of guys like Hatate, and bring more structure to that central midfield. A CB pairing of Fernandez and Djiga would do. Djiga has his moments, but that's true of Souttar too.

I honestly think the way to play from the outset is 4-3-3, and to try to win the midfield battle.

If Rangers try and play 4-4-2 again, Celtic will set up to pass the ball through the middle again. It needs to be a 3 man midfield for me.

04 Mar 2026 12:59:14
If Djiga plays, we will lose. He's just not good enough. Souttar, even with his shortcomings, is twice the player Djiga will ever be.

04 Mar 2026 13:00:20
Sterling Djiga Fernandez Rommens.

04 Mar 2026 13:08:18
DTB, as you'll probably know, I rate Souttar, but right now he needs to be taken out of the side, he's well off it, and Djiga has impressed in his last few games. He'd be in my team in place of Souttar.

04 Mar 2026 13:13:22
It's a hard one. Djiga was a rabbit caught in the headlights in the semi-final, although he has been a lot better since the AFCON. Splitting Sterling in two for rb and rcb is the best option we have, unfortunately there's more chance of Gough coming back.

Probably stick with the same team, although I'm edging towards Djiga myself, but we must use subs quicker when players are out on their feet. Big game for dr.

04 Mar 2026 13:32:15
Yip, Sterling, Djiga, Manny, Rommens.

04 Mar 2026 13:42:51
I really don't want Tav starting.

04 Mar 2026 14:14:04
Djiga in for Souttar is the only change I'd make to the back 4. I think Gassama will start too, and Dio.

04 Mar 2026 14:55:54
"Souttar twice the player Djiga is." ??

Some stuff on here really is hilarious.

04 Mar 2026 15:19:25
Gassama would be a man down if started. All for him coming on in the last twenty, but only on the left.

04 Mar 2026 15:34:24
Gassama should not start the game. He gives the ball away too often, and they will capitalise on any turnover.
He is a decent option off the bench, as he is different to our other forward options.

04 Mar 2026 16:05:13
Souttar needs to come out of the team if we are going to play a high line.

04 Mar 2026 17:00:35
Ally, Djiga is a very poor player, as I said above if he plays we lose. Souttar is the better player.

04 Mar 2026 17:42:34
We could have ended up losing on Sunday with Souttar.
I'd rather we went with Djiga, who can handle pace better. He was arguably our best player against Motherwell, dealing with their quick forward.

04 Mar 2026 18:37:18
I'm not Tavs biggest fan, but I'd go.
Butland

Tav, Sterling, Manny, Rommens

Dio, Raskin

Olsen, Moore

Naderi, Chermiti

Just to be different, guys.

04 Mar 2026 19:14:57
Can't see him setting up like that, I think he will go 3 in the middle.

04 Mar 2026 19:22:26
Probably, but I was being different, as I said. ⬆️

04 Mar 2026 19:28:25
In saying that, there is scope for fluidity and interchange of players' positions. Rohl is kind of working towards that, as was evident in the first half last week. It is flexible: 442, 4312, 4222, 433, 4132 are all possible.

04 Mar 2026 21:44:43
Souttar has been poor recently, but replacing him with Djiga, who has been a scare almost all season, is just about the only way we could make the defence worse. I would rather see Sterling at centre back and Tav at right back if Souttar is dropped.

I would stick with the same formation at the start, but we need to have a plan for replacing the likes of Naderi and Moore, who always run out of legs in big games. The backroom staff should be well aware of this and be able to plan in advance.

04 Mar 2026 22:10:15
Tav up against that pace won't work.

04 Mar 2026 22:25:45
Wsl, that's just not true, though. Djiga has been much improved since coming back from AFCON, and Souttar has been rotten, and anyone who says Souttar is twice the player Djiga is must be blind.

04 Mar 2026 22:30:36
Could we go 3 at the back, lads?

Tav, Souttar, Manny is prob dr's choice if he did.

Sterling, Raskin, Dio, Rommens.

Olsen, Chermiti, Moore.

Who knows.

04 Mar 2026 23:05:32
Butland.
Sterling, Djiga, Fernandez.
Tavernier, Bajrami, Raskin, Diomande, Rommens.
Moore.
Chermiti.

04 Mar 2026 23:10:37
Just meant, if we went back three, Stevie, I can't see that happening right enough.

05 Mar 2026 00:58:49
Disagree, Ally. Djiga should start. He was playing well. He will be a good cb, he's only 21, I believe, and on current performances, John should be dropped.
