Based on what we've seen so far do Rangers take the option of signing Olson for the reported 9m this summer? Imho he's not shown enough to pay that.
03 Mar 2026 09:25:51
2 assists for 2 amazing Chermiti goals.
And a goal as well.
The likes of Chermiti and Gassama, maybe Raskin and Diomande (plus all the loans returned), will be away in the summer as well.
So, are we going to rebuild again this summer?
At least, Skov will know more about the club and its expectations, and hopefully push on next year.
I would sign him.

Seen £8, £8.6, £8.7m and £9m as Ows says. To be worth anywhere near that, he needs to get the finger out, and quickly. A goal, 2 assists, n some nice touches, but need a lot more. I thought he was great at Brugge too. That's the player we need to see.
03 Mar 2026 09:44:03
Personally, I think we will try to extend the loan for a further season with the option at the end of that. If that is denied, I would be tempted to say to sign him, but it's a big gamble. I think he will come good after a full pre-season, but a gamble nevertheless.
03 Mar 2026 10:07:03
He needs to get his finger out for reported 45k a week and 7-9 million euros. It's a hard no at the moment.
03 Mar 2026 10:07:03
Based on current form / contribution, imo, absolutely not, especially for the kind of money being talked about, unless there's a major improvement in his performances.
03 Mar 2026 10:08:42
Ally for 9 million?
Your opinion, of course.
I like him, but he looks a shadow of the player he was. Confidence looks to have taken a hit. He is neat and tidy, and his passing and crossing are decent, but for that kind of money we need a winger who is explosive, takes people on, and chips in with goals.
Unless he starts to show those attributes, I think we should pass and spend elsewhere.
I watched him in Europe a couple of seasons back for Brugge, and he does not look the same player.
03 Mar 2026 10:10:21
I don't think, firstly, that will be the price agreed; was that not the price they signed him for? So, lazy press have just said they will want their money back. Also, does the loan fee come off what we will pay? The truth is no-one knows, so it is used for bad press.
I like him. He keeps the ball, rarely gives it away cheaply, and we need more of that.
Yes, he could have more goals and assists, but it has been 6 games, and he is trying to fit in and get used to playing with the others.
I do agree with DtB, though, that an extension to the loan, and then deciding, takes a lot of the risk away.
03 Mar 2026 10:19:36
From what I've seen of him so far, it's a big no.
03 Mar 2026 10:44:49
It's a no from me also, Ows. Other than two cracking wee chips, he hasn't shown nearly enough. That may change, but for now it's thanks, but no thanks.
03 Mar 2026 11:05:27
No chance.
03 Mar 2026 11:10:23
Currently, no, but he has a few months for changing that.
03 Mar 2026 12:24:11
I don't think he's worth the price spoken of, and he's been disappointing so far, but if we play direct like the 1st half with 2 up front, then I think he'll have a good impact between now and the end of the season.
03 Mar 2026 12:44:56
Kaiser, I agree. The problem is that by playing that style we lose more goals, so get more draws. We need to find a balance to play more attacking and keep it tighter at the back. That tightness, though, is on the whole team and not just defence.
03 Mar 2026 12:46:41
The deal is already done for next season. He will be a Rangers player. Does he need to improve and bring a bigger impact and moments to games? 100% he does. For that fee he's got to show so much more, and I'm hoping when he's match fit his confidence in taking a man on will grow. He's safety first in some moments.
03 Mar 2026 12:50:04
Skov Olsen would need to get involved more and make more of an impact before I would pay the money for him, but he has shown quality at times.
Interesting that somebody said, 'Do we really want another rebuild in the summer?' Well, we have got one whether we want it or not, thanks to all the short-sightedness last summer. We have Djiga, Cornelius, Meghoma, Aarons and Moore, who will all likely return to their clubs, plus Tavernier, who will be out of contract and looks likely to leave.
Guys like Aasgaard, Antman and Miovski, whom the manager has run out of patience with, may leave, and there are possible bids for Raskin, Chermiti, Gassama, and Fernandez. Sounds like another rebuild coming to me.
03 Mar 2026 12:51:39
I had very high hopes, as you would expect, for someone in the prime years of their career and valued at 9 million. I have not been impressed. If we were going to sign, I would try to renegotiate the fee, as there must be a player in there somewhere. As of right now, I still don't know what he brings to us, though.
03 Mar 2026 12:59:09
Given what we've seen so far, absolutely not.
Sima hasn't got a goal for Lens yet. Maybe they would be keen to sell. We could probably get Sima instead for that money, and I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
There must be talented young wingers all over Europe who are scoring goals. There must be better out there for the money being mentioned.
03 Mar 2026 13:12:30
Rohl, a young rw banging them in our league, goes by the name of Maswanhise.
03 Mar 2026 13:13:54
Fraction of Olsen's wage, and a lower fee. On current form, I know which one I'd like.
03 Mar 2026 13:15:51
Scott, the deal is not already done. Nothing has been agreed. We don't have an obligation to buy.
03 Mar 2026 13:21:42
I liked the look of Lawson when he came on against Annan. Looked like he wanted to get forward and attack.
03 Mar 2026 13:30:39
The Motherwell boy hasn't played right wing for ages. He has been thru the middle since December.
Angus, you don't know that isn't in the price, though, either.
03 Mar 2026 13:58:46
He's a winger who hasn't beaten a man yet since he came to us. 40 caps for Denmark shows there's a player in there, but at present he looks really short of confidence, so, unfortunately, unless he improves dramatically between now and May, I wouldn't be throwing 8 or 9 million at him based on previous reputation.
03 Mar 2026 18:48:13
Jackboy, he isn't an old-fashioned winger though, and he won't skin fullbacks to reach the byline. So, if that is what you are waiting for, you might have a long wait, I'm afraid.
03 Mar 2026 19:16:07
Paul, a deal has been verbally agreed and was part of the negotiation of the loan, with the player and his representatives, as far as I have been informed. ASO expects to be a Rangers player next season, and our club wants the same.
03 Mar 2026 19:33:56
Angus, get you now.
