Seems a lot of people think Celtic will get Maswanhise but if we are interested then we'll beat them imo. Cavanagh and the 49ners seem willing to do what it takes whist the Celtic bunch don't want to commit.
We are the better prospect than Celtic right now (unbiased). Maswanhise or anyone would be crazy to join Celtic right now not knowing who will be in charge in the summer, they are on their 4th manager this season (might be the same person as before but still), they have 4 LWs already too.
19 Jan 2026 23:35:15
Better prospect why? Because your 3rd in a one horse race, joint second bottom with one point in the EL and are serial winners? Or are you just getting carried away?.
19 Jan 2026 23:35:35
Changing managers too often can disrupt as we know so let's hope it's their turn.
20 Jan 2026 00:02:28
Bhoy88 a team going places and that will improve massively over the next few years, you think our new owners are going away anytime soon? they want to be successful and the only way for that happening is a successful Rangers team on the park.
He'd be better at Rangers rather than a club standing still, sold the best players and replaced with players not nearly good enough, and what about O'Neill having to scout players? what has been happening at Celtic for getting into a situation like this?
I must say I'm really enjoying it though Bhoy88?.
20 Jan 2026 00:19:06
Mystar it's a huge relief to me that O'Neill is scouting players as we will get a far better standard of player than what our former ' elite ' manager Rodgers signed. Only if your managers had taken the time to go and watch the players they'd signed eh!
20 Jan 2026 00:54:58
All well and good O'Neil going to watch the players but are Celtic going to commit? because it seems so far they really aren't willing to. The new owners of Rangers know what they want and have the enticement of the 49ers taking them to other teams or getting them involved with the redbull group.
what's Celtic got going for them right now? Owners not willing to spend?
20 Jan 2026 01:30:16
Bhoy88 why is O'Neill even scouting players? that should be the question you want answered, a shambles even being in that position, should have had many players lined up, long has Kyogo been away?
Rohl just signed three players, more will come before the windows closes, I'm really struggling getting any Celtic player in my team 2/3 max, say what you like but that's me being honest, and on form not one, I look at the bench more than the first 11, I didn't even know a good few on it the last league game, O'Neill's side can't keep on getting wins like the Falkirk game, they played you off the park and had far better chances.
Been a while since I've laughed this hard at Celtic, we must be talking over 30 years.
20 Jan 2026 01:58:33
I'm not sure the point you're trying to make Mystar re O'Neill scouting players? I would want my manager running the rule over his targets, wouldn't you?
O'Neill wouldn't have had many players lined up though as he wasn't in the job leading up to the window.
Digging out results is a mark of champions. It's a shoes a winning mentality to come away with the points when not playing well. I have a feeling your over excitment might just come back to haunt you?
RFC55 I think it all depends on O'Neill's assessment whether the club would commit or not. let's be honest though this boy has a bright future and would make Celtic or any other club who signed him a tidy profit!
20 Jan 2026 03:25:10
All I will say bhoy88 is do your research on the 49ers group if you want to talk about serial winners. Nothing will stop them from making us top of the pile and keeping us there. Over the next few years sit back and watch the A league sponsors jump on board. The best of everything medical, data, scouting ect. While mon will be sorting through the wee yellow and pink postit notes stuck on the fridge. While your board and share holders will continue to fleece as many dividends as they can from you all.
Yes its the first season under the 49ers and we may not win the league or we may be ahead of schedule and manage the win it. But they ain't going away either way and they can blow you guys out the water financially. How long do you think the 70 mill in the bank is going to last. You better hit the chapel and pray we don't win the league as that 40 mill straight into cl will devastated your club. Sweet dream buddy.
20 Jan 2026 03:57:52
Ironically it's you that dreaming Stewartyyblue12! You don't even think or believe that you just HOPE that it turns out like that?.
20 Jan 2026 04:59:44
Bhoy88, another thing pal there won't be a better signing by any scottish club this transfer window than andreas skov olsen imo ? Superbly talented right winger and when he's on it he'll rip defenders apart in this league now take a wee drink of water pal and try not to choke ???.
20 Jan 2026 05:02:21
I'm not sure how O'Neil watching Maswanhise can be viewed as a bad thing for them. If it was just him doing general scouting because they've no recruitment team, fair enough but managers have always gone to watch players they want, particularly the older ones before it was all data.
Generally the other scouts have already recommended a player and then the manager watches as final stage before making bid. If O'Neil is watching then a bid is close if he likes him. Be disappointed if he does because we've both been saying we should go for him.
20 Jan 2026 06:44:01
Is Bhioy88 actually coldo revealing his true colours??.
20 Jan 2026 07:02:44
Bhoy??, your still panty wetting after lifting the we nearly beat Bayern trophy ?, btw Martin might have seen some talent in the Talbot side??.
20 Jan 2026 07:08:03
You take that back Fork!
Agreed Kaiser, that's the way it was and should've stayed!
That's you cursed him now Coops, he'll be a dud now he's had your seal of approval?.
20 Jan 2026 08:39:26
so how does a manager make a decision on if he wants. player after watching 90 minutes of football? what happens if the lad has a bad game?
yes manager should have some say but all the work would be done by the recruitment team before that. does it mean that Celtic are only going to sign players who MON can see so that rules out any overseas players as he surely can't travel to those games.
I don't doubt he was there to see the lad but tbh him scouting seems to be a little odd.
and people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones you are second in that one horse race ON GOAL DIFFERENCE. and re Europe you are 24th in the group and other than the Bayern cup you haven't excelled recently which is why we are currently 23 places above you in coefficient table (you know the one that us doing well gets you better draws in Europe) ?. so we are poor this year but the first in a long time.
20 Jan 2026 08:50:02
Nonsense the mark of champions, you mean very lucky Falkirk never took the chances and won 3-0. Bhoy88, would be a mark of championing if playing well, Celtic but has been poor, lucky wins down to the opposition.
Kasier, O'Neill scouting players should never happen at a club like Celtic, very amateur, you thinking differently fair enough mate.
20 Jan 2026 09:02:44
Can't believe your all biting at this bampot's post ignore him don't encourage him, no replies he goes away.
20 Jan 2026 09:03:21
Bhoy88 why would my excitement come back and haunt me? our new owners are only getting started on our road for success.
While your owner shows your fans a lack of respect, I still can't believe the situation Celtic are in right now, but again Bhoy88, it's a beautiful thing.
Celtic don't pick up three points on Sunday that will be that.
20 Jan 2026 09:07:53
Lol @bhoy88??.
20 Jan 2026 09:15:04
Even the Celtic fans know who they will get a bite out of on here.
20 Jan 2026 09:39:00
Bhoy88, Celtic are too cheap, they honestly get laughed at by clubs now. apparently a few clubs never even respond to Celtic because their first bid is so far off the mark.
20 Jan 2026 10:03:43
true blue. it is a bit of banter and Bhoy has come on and engaged in a friendly and respectful way. so I am all for having a chat with opposition fans tbh. there are a few who come on occasionally but haven't seen them for a while so hope they are well.
20 Jan 2026 10:04:19
Probably fork. He said kent was world class ?.
20 Jan 2026 10:06:06
Coldo but it's very easily coming up with the nonsense Bhoy88 has though, he's on your level, couple of silly tims, or maybe just one silly tim.
20 Jan 2026 10:18:18
I'm pretty sure Celtic have sacked their Director of Football, so it would make sense for O'Neil to have a look at a recommended player.
Pretty sure Rohl had a say on our January targets according to some on here.
So not sure what the difference is?
20 Jan 2026 10:28:42
Mph and taking over a year for Kyogo replacement only shows how that club is getting run.
20 Jan 2026 10:41:38
It was only a few month ago that fans were moaning about how we were run by Thelwell, Stewart and Martin. There is nothing wrong with a manager going to watch a player, infact if we had done that more often perhaps we would never have signed Cortes, Cifu etc.
Could have saved ourselves a fortune. Walter Smith and Alex Ferguson would regularly go and watch a player for themselves.
20 Jan 2026 10:58:13
Correct Storm and Star, definitely maybe?.
20 Jan 2026 11:05:56
I believe they thought they were head and shoulders above Rangers in every department on and off the field, MyStar.
And the appointment / results under martin probably enhanced that thought process.
And I believe they thought they didn't really need to invest to stay above us.
But a lack of ambition after Rodgers by appointing Nancy was their downfall.
It is definitely a 3 horse title race.
And I firmly believe whoever goes on a winning run before the split will win the league.
We have been moving along nicely.
Hearts have had 2 good wins with 10 men.
Celtic will pick up more points under O'Neil than they will lose. But they definitely need to strengthen.
I would love a striker and no nonsense CH and I believe that would make us favourites.
20 Jan 2026 11:23:17
Agree mph, I don't see the problem tbh. Bhoy88, I'll never write you lot off until it's mathematically impossible. You still have a good few in that team that know how to get titles over the line, that's my worry at this point.
Hearts are picking up injuries, suspensions etc, you lots form isn't good, so we definitely the in form team just now, but we know how quickly that can change. All the worst mate ?.
20 Jan 2026 13:00:36
I don't see an issue with a manager going to watch players I think it's good.
Shankland out for 6-8 weeks and devlin out as well let's see what they do know.
