Been reading a few posts regarding Danilo vs Dessers, and for me it can be summed it pretty simply.
Danilo is a forward, and Dessers is a striker.
Danilo will press intelligently, hold and use the ball better, link up play.
Dessers, is a striker that will lead the line, make it difficult for defenders and try to get on the end of through balls, crosses etc, and often forces us to go long, because he's so far away from play. His pressing isn't effective and extremely easy to bypass.
I think playing Danilo will be better for the entire team and hopefully he will also get goals himself, at least the same as CD who hasn't been able to break the 20 league goals mark.

You didn't compare their history record in the last two years.
We've seen next to nothing from Danilo in two seasons now.
Dessers in that time has scored 50 goals and barely missed a match.

Zikos. didn't realise danilo was on the park home or away v pana. Totally ineffective. didn't press or link any play.

To what i've seen so far from both dessers V danilo as Rangers players, then dessers wins it hands down for me zikos ? absolutely not a shred of doubt in my mind ?Danilo last night far too deep most of the time and their centre halfs had it easy ?When dessers came on you could see the difference as he worried their centre halfs with his intelligent runs an example was the chance he unfortunately missed but he worried them much more than danilo ?I agree that danilo is a better footballer but not a better striker and i'd have dessers as our central no.9 striker, in front of danilo ?.

I'm sorry, for those that don't see Danilo press, then unfortunately you don't actually understand what pressing is.
Dessers runs at defenders with absolutely zero understanding of where he is in relation to his team mates.
Watch closer, when Danilo presses he is constantly looking over his shoulder to see where is team is, so he knows how far he can go.
Dessers blindly runs towards defenders, away from his team, becomes isolated and is a defenders dream because he's easy to beat.
Regarding his injury record. Yes you're 100% correct. There isn't any evidence to suggest Danilo can go a full season in Scotland injury free and CD is far more robust in that respect. However when he is fit, for me he is a better option for the team.
That said if you wanted to hit a team in the break, like away from home I. Europe then maybe CD would be the better option. But I do t think RM will resort to those tactics.

We never thought Dessers wasn't fit enough to start that game? he had a knock a couple of weeks ago and hardly had that many minutes in friendlies.

Hard to judge Danilo properly just now as he's getting no help from the flanks or any of the midfield 3. Maybe when aasgard is fit and we have pace on wing to get near to him will maybe see the best of him.

Ah the old if you can't see him pressing you don't know what pressing is line. so insulting other posters whilst showing off your 'greater' football intelligence. what about those who do know what pressing is and looks like but still can't see it. and if he were pressing then he is doing it on his own as supposedly he isn't getting any help form the flanks or midfield. that is what you are accusing Dessers off. doesn't matter if he knows where his teammates are he is just running around towards their players.

Angus regardless if his teammates are not supporting him. He still needs to do it with purpose or it is totally useless. It looks like you're trying, but not actually accomplishing anything. If I'm honest it's actually child like.
