Agreement reached for Nico Raskin from Besiktas.

As per Fabrizio Romano

No quoted price

Would be extremely frustarted if we don't replace him.

I do now wonder if Cerny is potentially part of this deal. Just putting two & two together because of the team.

Even if he is included we will have to replace Raskin. I have no idea what windows are still open and if we can get a deal done this late.

Busy 2 days ahead

Apparently a loan with an option, not even an obligation to the most notorious league in the world for messing you about.
I seriously despair at our footballing department, what the F are we doing!

02 Sep 2026 11:58:33
Not sure how reliable he is, but a Besiktas fan on x with 300k followers says it's a loan with an option to buy. No clue on fee.

Personally, I think if he goes, it has to be a straight fee or minimum a loan with obligation. But, he'll need replaced asap.

02 Sep 2026 11:59:02
Turkish sources suggesting it's a loan with an option to buy. Which is surely the worst possible outcome for us? Hope that's not the case!

02 Sep 2026 11:59:04
Loan with purchase option. We'd never accept that unless Raskin leaves us with no choice but to accept it. I'm guessing here, but he's probably refused to play, or at least made it difficult for us behind the scenes, which is sad, because he has two years left and we can't force teams to bid for him.

02 Sep 2026 11:59:12
Doesn't matter if a country's window is shut or not, they can still sell a player when the window is closed.

02 Sep 2026 12:01:22
I've read it's only a loan, mate, which would be horrendous.

02 Sep 2026 12:07:13
Despair at Raskin, it's up to him if he goes, if he doesn't then he plays, or is something untoward going on we're not privy to? Hence why he's not played. If it's just a loan, then why didn't we play him?

02 Sep 2026 12:09:07
If it is a loan with an option, all Besiktas need to do next summer is say oh well he's only a year left now so we aren't paying the fee we agreed, we will renegotiate at much worse terms.

This is honestly the worst transfer I've ever heard of. Heads should roll for this if this is true, of course.

02 Sep 2026 12:10:33
If it's a loan that would prob put the Cerny swap to bed.

02 Sep 2026 12:13:54
Cerny has no interest in coming to Rangers.

02 Sep 2026 12:14:28
Surely a loan with an option to buy, if true, is the worst case scenario for Rangers unless Cerny is part of the deal.

02 Sep 2026 12:15:29
A loan with an option would be a disgrace for one of our top assets who just played at the World Cup for Belgium.

Either they meet our valuation or Nico stays, whether he is happy or not. He doesn't get to dictate our terms - no matter how late in the day him and his team have left it.

02 Sep 2026 12:15:35
For him to turn down France to end up in Turkey makes no sense to me unless money talks.

No Barron & no Raskin without a replacement would be a disaster.

02 Sep 2026 12:15:36
All the reports have seen is that we have agreed to a deal, and it's now up to the player. No fee or loan being mentioned in the press over here. If it's a loan, it's a terrible decision imo. If he's leaving, we have to get a transfer fee for him.

02 Sep 2026 12:15:40
Chasni seems to me like Rangers are pushing him out, not the other way.

McInnes hasn't slagged him once, only praised him. He also took a pain injection to play this season, not the action of someone desperate to force a move.

Me thinks, we want him gone no matter what and willing to accept the worse offer we can get.

02 Sep 2026 12:16:11
If it is true and it is a loan then that just sums up our footballing department at the moment.

I would like to hope there would be at least a loan coming the other way but sadly I think that's too advanced for our idiotic footballing department to negotiate.

Absolutely horrendous deal which secures us zero finance for a replacement.

02 Sep 2026 12:20:41
A loan!!
Where's ma coat.

02 Sep 2026 12:22:02
I agree, Fork, something feels off.
Unless there was something in the pipeline and it fell through for whatever reason?

Also, even though he had a good World Cup playing for his country.

Something feels strange that no offers for a permanent move matching our valuation have materialised.

I wonder how much the club have valued him, that may be putting clubs off.

We also don't want an unhappy player if his heart is set on leaving this summer?

02 Sep 2026 12:23:37
Absolute honking business if we agree to a loan, why can we not sell players? honking window if true?

02 Sep 2026 12:28:08
Fork, it's the apparent loan I am despairing at. If we get our fee that we want, it is what it is. But under no circumstances should we be allowing one of our best players and assets to leave on loan, especially when he comes back he'll have a year left on his deal.

02 Sep 2026 12:28:55
Chris Jack reporting that they would need to meet the valuation before he leaves.

02 Sep 2026 12:29:05
sorry but is this not just a rumour? 🤷 and worse still from a Turkish source. I hate to think how many transfer windows our players are linked with a Turkish club but as yet as far as I remember we haven't transferred one directly to a club.

02 Sep 2026 12:32:21
The other thing to look at if it's a loan what happens if he does his acl or gets a long term injury. We're left with a 20 mil player with a year left of his deal and worth fuck all as no guarantees he's the same player when he's back.

All for what a 1.5 mil loan fee it's horrendous business if it's a loan with no obligation to buy

02 Sep 2026 12:36:19
I don't understand what our club is thinking. Why on earth would they agree to a loan with an option? If this is true it's the most disgraceful bit of business, absolutely hopeless. Have been asleep for nearly 8 months and woken up on April first. Or is it just the club officials that are fools?

02 Sep 2026 12:41:29
Didn't Raskin knock this move back last season when Martin tried to force him out? Can't see why he would take it now, especially a loan. Maybe he's in no hurry to leave and will wait to see who Cavenagh picks as the new manager in November before deciding his future.

02 Sep 2026 12:54:51
I agree Wishy it's a joke, but as I said earlier, something stinks, maybe the board want him gone, doesn't sound real? I suggest you watch big Cyriel on YouTube on why he "left" Rangers.

02 Sep 2026 12:56:07
Why I said apparently and if true Angus. It's the current Rangers news at the moment so of course we are going to discuss it

02 Sep 2026 13:03:44
Aye WSL manager is really our biggest issue right now get a grip!

02 Sep 2026 13:09:13
"New Manager" 👀 very funny Wsl. 😉🤣👍

02 Sep 2026 13:16:24
Dessers was shafted, Fork. I listened to that, mate. We as a support played our part in it too, mate. Horrible the way we treated him.

02 Sep 2026 14:08:59
100% bud, big guy should still be here. 👍

02 Sep 2026 14:44:47
Well, well, it is just bs, it seems (apparently and if true 😉). My issue is that probably 80% of the fans on this site seem to just think the worst of the club in every bad story which comes up. That can't be healthy as a supporter; surely you would back the club until the truth comes out. 🤷
