Dahl traveling to England to complete 10 million pound deal. I know a lot will be disappointed but this board will only pay what they feel is right for a player and we move on.
05 Aug 2026 10:22:35
I am gutted, but I understand the board's decision. We need to make a profit on players, and I don't think we'd get much more coming from our league.

Tromso moved the goal posts on fee way too much, IMO.
Fee agreed in Jan was 40% lower than WATP has outlined above.
Not sure this is the best move for the boy, and he may well come up on a reduced fee in 12 mths time.

There are other Buffs and Igmanes out there - it's doing correct research and planning/due diligence that can bring hidden gems to us - club is 100% being held to ransom for Dahl to step away, and, we as fans, need to support a sensible pragmatic approach to buying and selling - whether at certain times we don't like the initial outcome.
🤔 Hopefully our 1st Japanese signing falls into that category. 🙏

Last year we spent money on Chermiti. My opinion is missing out on Dahl for 10 million might seem real stupid in the coming seasons, especially as we were his preferred option. PS I'm not itk, just a supporter with an opinion. Namaste, my brothers. However, on the whole I like the way newmob do business.

Maybe going to Manchester to get a medical for us. 😉 🎣
05 Aug 2026 10:39:47
His position isn't our biggest worry at the moment, and I'm pretty sure the club knew that and didn't want to prioritise him and be stuck with too many mids and surplus to requirement wingers.
05 Aug 2026 10:46:29
Will be very interesting to see how he gets on at Hull, my honest opinion is that he will struggle to big a jump in standards.
05 Aug 2026 10:53:10
If Raskin, Dio, or Barron had moved on, I think we might have paid it, but it would have been irresponsible to sign another CM when we badly need defenders and wingers and use 10m of an already stretched budget.
05 Aug 2026 10:53:12
As I said yesterday, if we needed any proof of our place in the world, this is it. Losing out on a player like this to Hull City.
05 Aug 2026 10:57:37
I'm disappointed to have missed out on him. Seems to have been one we have got behind. I just feel we're missing one or two bonafide starting XI additions, marquee type signings, that will take us up a notch or 2. Vast majority of signings so far seem to be squad type players.
05 Aug 2026 11:01:40
Can't just keep adding central midfielders if we can't move any out.
Time will tell how good he is. I'm hoping Aasgaard steps up for us, however.
05 Aug 2026 11:03:13
I worry that with Hill under the cosy so much and not having much of the ball, if he'll get the chance on the ball enough to show his talents. But his work rate will still be there, and he does have good defensive abilities too, it's just a question if are his team mates good enough that they can all form a winning team forst and foremost before worrying g aboit his individual showings.
I think he'll move to a better team in EPL in 12 months for a few year and then onto a too too side.
05 Aug 2026 11:05:34
DTB, Hull are in the EPL, one good season with them can get him to one of the bigger clubs. Van Dyke Southampton to Liverpool, Charlie Adam Blackpool to Liverpool, two that spring to mind.
05 Aug 2026 11:10:37
I agree, Bee. We really need Aasgaard to be consistent and start producing this year. He has something we need. We need to see it every week now.
05 Aug 2026 11:14:25
Do the bouncy, you do realise that Hull earned 295million by getting promoted to the EPL. They can outstanding us every day of the week.
Plus, he will get to play against some top teams as opposed to Killie, St Mirren etc.
05 Aug 2026 11:02:55
It would be losing out to Hull City if he chose them over Rangers, was it not reported he wasn't a priority anymore? Reality is we need wingers, centre half's and a left back. Would be silly to spend 10 million on another midfielder with other positions to fill.
05 Aug 2026 11:27:18
Dothebouncy that is a bit of a stupid statement IMO, he is going to arguably the best league in the world playing quality opposition week in week out at Hull and will put himself in the shop window for a move to a Bigger club. Until Scottish football improves we will always lose to the likes of Hull etc.
05 Aug 2026 11:40:40
DTB, but it's not the club, it's the league.
05 Aug 2026 12:09:38
He's not our player. Time to let it go.
05 Aug 2026 13:02:35
It's not the fact losing out to Hull City for Dahl, it's losing out to the English Premier League, even if we were after Dahl in the first place. 🤔 We absolutely need to focus on wingers long before the position Dahl plays in, and, for me, we absolutely prioritised the winger position in front of the Dahl position, and Aasgaard can play there and is playing well just now.
👍 🇬🇧
05 Aug 2026 13:08:23
I will be watching to see how he gets on, it's a big step up Tromso to the toughest league on the planet.
05 Aug 2026 12:41:57
Ignore the fee, the simple reason that we did not progress a move for Dahl is that we will not play with a No 10 type player under McInnes so there was no point in signing him. Hope we now redirect the money to some decent wingers, a left sided centre back who can defend, and a left back to push Rommens to better performances or out of the team if his current form persists.
05 Aug 2026 15:15:36
If he was 40% cheaper in January, why did we sign Chukuwani for £4m and not just sign Dahl instead? We move on, though, let's just try develop Chuk & Aasgaard.
