I've read word for word most of this Lewis Ferguson stuff on X (Scotsport) that's had how many name changes in the last yr? 46?
The same account had Penrice signed on a 3 yr deal 4 days ago? Nothing Oh and Devlin. They might happen, Devlin definitely, Penrice isn't leaving Greece to be a back up in Scotland IMO, only my opinion.
A what's app is doing the rounds about the structure of the Ferguson deal.
Not 1 journalist in Scotland covering football or Rangers is reporting this, only a monetised account on X who's had 46 different usernames in a yr.
Gents please don't get your hopes up! If this was happening let's be serious if it was this close like every other deal the mainstream would know and they'd be running it hot. I fear many of you will be disappointed here. I urge caution not for my benefit for your benefit cause I think many of you will be gutted. Now many will jump on here and say the usual I'm negative, I hate everything, my attitude stinks, you're shooting down rumours, I'm not I'm trying to look at this deal realistically.
I hope you all end up happy! I'd love Lewis here but I'm pretty certain at this stage right now it's miles off.

What you may have failed to notice is most of the deals that do get signed become very widely posted on here a couple of days before they hit the mainstream media by some very reliable posters, who sometimes may well be fed red herrings by their contacts to keep things fresh and secret.
I'm not saying for a second that Ferguson will or won't sign, but there is absolutely no need for a post like that.

Wishy 1 thing is for certain when it's known and close, it's everywhere and very quickly. None of them are running it, bar a monetised account on X with 46 username changes? If that doesn't raise red flags, I don't know what to tell people. If this happens and when it's close, it will be everywhere.

I don't think many are taking this as gospel, but god forbid anyone feels a bit of excitement. The dementors are out in force to scream in every thread, Ferguson's not coming, this isn't happening. Any of you guys saying this board level cause you seem to be pretty adamant it's not happening.
I've said to mates on WhatsApp here's the rumour but also said I think this will end up being this window's saga like January was Hjerto Dahl, last summer I don't even remember who, the windows before we had Olsen and others.

This was established widely on X after the news it claimed to break before the Penrice story. Newer posters don't know the history of some of the more respected posters on this site so throwing mud at it, hoping it sticks isn't going to go down well with many.
Ryan, Slim, Iron, you guys are just as likely to be right in my eyes as the guys saying it will happen, I don't have any inside info and I don't know that yous do or don't, but I'd go as far as to say constantly ramming it down folks' throats is worse that our man WATP floating 3 times with his I told you so post and had the grace and humour to take a ribbing for it.

Wishy, I'm actually quite an optimistic guy, but I'm a realist first and foremost. I'd love Lewis here, but my stance is I think he'll have more lucrative offers and this will be his last big contract, and he'll take it.
This opinion is hated by a few. Water off a duck's back. But, if he does agree to come, it will explode all over the media as it will be the biggest deal in Scottish Football in a while.

I've not been told it's not happening, Ayrshire. I've never claimed that. My stance is, I think he'll take a more lucrative offer and if he is going to come, it's not close. It might be weeks to a month away. I'm ramming it down no one's throat, I'm offering an opinion on the potential Ferguson transfer as are those who say it's close.
If they can offer their opinion, why can't anyone else who doesn't think it will happen or think it's close? I'm a realist too and I can see it happening. It's not Cristiano Ronaldo we are talking about. He's a Rangers fan who's Gony have Rangers mad family and friends in his ear badgering him to come. His best pals just signed, his old manager is now our manager.
Our billionaire owner is now wanting to get Scottish players in, and he's the best we can get. He's likely to be captain as well. So it's a very real possibility.

Storm, it's a rumours thread.
People post a rumour, then post updates on what they're hearing about that rumour whether it's getting closer, a deal has been agreed, or the structure of a deal has changed. That's not ramming it down anyone's throat; that's simply updating the discussion.
Iron has already made it clear he doesn't believe it. I'm sure everyone has taken that on board.
But posting the same I don't believe it response for the tenth time is different from sharing new information or an update on the rumour. If anything, constantly repeating the same point starts to look a bit obsessive.
But hey that's just me!
And I'm not being rude, just my thoughts on how the response is coming across.

It's the same rhetoric on every rumour, and if it's not shooting down rumours from respected posters on the site, it's negative attitudes to players for not being good enough.
If we sign players it's because the recruitment team and manager think they will play a role in winning the title.
It is widely accepted in the world that this will not always happen, but rather than being negative at the start, let's just for once have a little bit of buzz, have a little bit of positivity and get behind anyone and everyone that pulls on the famous jersey.

The website is called Rangers Rumours, and they called it that for a reason. Sure, will Lewis sign? Not if we're spending money elsewhere anyway, Penrice will be £2m, McCrorie was £1.5m, Ivor was £6m, if successful, Godfrey will be £4m and there's probably been a €1-2 m loan fee there. Devlin probably Gers a 500k signing on fee as he's a free. If we get JHD Thata £8-9m.
So we're spending money elsewhere anyway.
I expect at least one winger, as it stands, and if we sell Antman or Gassama it be straight replacements, as we've only got 3 if u discount Aasgaard, which I am.
The money is being spent well and wisely.

Yes, Stevie, but look at the prices of the other players we are in the market for. So we are spending money wisely, which is why some don't think that we will spend in excess of £17M on one player when others like Dahl (and Silas Anderson) are available for half that.
There are lots of things (price, in the media already) which tend to lead me towards the fact it won't happen and tbh I would rather spend that money on 2-3 decent first team players who improve more of the team; only issue is they won't be Rangers supporters but we are already creating that core so he isn't that important for that reason now.
But it is a difference of opinion that is all and not worth some getting so irate about. Hark at me, the always calm and reasonable one. ?
