2 million compensation for Rohl according to Sky sports.
15 Jun 2026 16:38:31
How much compensation to Hearts if we sign McInnes?
15 Jun 2026 16:40:18
Fifepl, if this is true, a lot of people on here will be doing backflips in such high a compensation pay off. Buttons, we should have fought to keep Danny Rohl imo.
15 Jun 2026 16:47:30
Fraser, the guy wanted out as the job was too big for him. ?
15 Jun 2026 16:51:29
Think it's 4 million altogether for him and his staff compensation.
15 Jun 2026 16:51:42
You can't keep someone who aspires to be somewhere else. I'm looking forward to DMc era. Sir Walter knew what he was talking about. ?
15 Jun 2026 16:53:56
He was well out his depth, best outcome for everyone.
15 Jun 2026 16:55:07
Bearsbear, did Walter know what he was talking about when he recommended Ally McCoist as manager?
15 Jun 2026 17:04:38
Yately, Danny Rohl maybe wanted out, but the job was never too big for him. Have a look at his cv, the job was too big for him phew.
15 Jun 2026 17:14:10
0.5 mills comp for McInnes.
15 Jun 2026 17:27:40
Fraser, no point fighting for someone that doesn't want to be here. Am glad he is away.
15 Jun 2026 17:29:10
Rohl lost the changing room which was pretty obvious on the last day of the season with the team's goal celebrations. It's a win for Rangers this deal.
15 Jun 2026 17:29:19
Fought for him how? It's his decision if he wants to go or not. No-one is forcing him to leave.
15 Jun 2026 17:32:39
I posted on here yesterday FIFA that it was £2million compo for Danny Rohl and not the £4million and £6million that was getting reported. ?
15 Jun 2026 17:35:29
I'm glad he's away.
And, to be honest, Rohl's CV doesn't show anything other than a manager who jumps ship when he feels the heat.
15 Jun 2026 17:38:38
Didn't expect anywhere near the 6million being banded about. £2m for Danny sounds about right. Still to sort out extra for rest of staff. And never out of his depth or RB wouldn't be after him. Will never know how he'd have done with own team, but we move on.
15 Jun 2026 17:39:31
anybody who thinks we're better off with mcinnes needs there heads checked he's won 1 cup out how many embarrassing we're going down this route
15 Jun 2026 17:52:38
Correct, Kaiser. Far too many on here too happy to disrespect our own manager and players. He wanted out after RB made an approach, I would guess.
However, perhaps we need to sign more managers out of their depth and who lose the dressing room (never knew it was that hard to find). Especially if we get £2M every time.
Dougie, with the clubs that he's worked at and the finances are u expecting him to have won trebles?
15 Jun 2026 18:15:19
FraserCullen, what is there in Rohl's CV that makes you think the job of first team coach at Rangers wasn't too big for him? Apart from Sheff Wednesday, he's never been a head coach before. Being on the coaching staff at Bayern etc doesn't mean that he will be a good top man.
I would have no problem with him staying on the coaching staff, working for somebody else, but not to be the man in charge.
15 Jun 2026 18:16:36
Stig, his CV shows two clubs who are a complete mess lol.
15 Jun 2026 19:04:45
Fraser, Danny Rohl has done nothing as a head coach. Nothing. He's on his third club in as many years.
In addition to that, he scurried away 9 months after signing a multi-year contract with us.
That's the reality of his situation.
If he doesn't kick on at Salzburg in a big way, you probably won't hear much more about him.
15 Jun 2026 19:08:09
Delighted he's gone. Never wanted him in the first place and he was utter rubbish.
15 Jun 2026 19:16:16
Dougie boy, with the budgets he has had, I think he's done more than ok. Rohl spent millions and ended up 3rd, was on a plate for him at spilt lost changing room from a source he didn't even contact Finlay Curtis when he made the World Cup squad.
15 Jun 2026 19:20:47
Haha, Rangers were too big for Rohl, what a statement that is. I'm sure Jurgen Klopp, Red Bull and Co have a better understanding of a top manager than some of our fans. I'll not be surprised if he does wonders with Salzburg and ends up becoming one of the best about. This is just another ridiculous statement by our toxic fan base as always.
This is the same fans that want Gerrard back, despite winning 1 trophy in 9, been sacked by Villa, then "mutually agreed" to leave a massive failure in Saudi. Take off the 90s Rangers goggles and have a day off. We are a far cry from that era, accept it.
15 Jun 2026 19:24:36
Dougie, Gerrard won 1 outta how many? And fans are greeting for that failure of a manager back. What McInnes has done with Aberdeen and Hearts is better than what Gerrard done with us. Let's not forget, Hearts should have won the league, an awful and viral mistake is what cost them.
He reached a good few finals with a poor Aberdeen. Yous were all asking for bloody Stephen Robinson to come to Ibrox when he was at St Mirren cause he was winning a few games and won a final against Celtic. Split personality in this fan base lol.
15 Jun 2026 19:34:32
A wee bit of backtracking from some on the alleged compensation for both Rohl & McInnes. imo nobody outside the boardroom knows what the fees are until it is put out in the public domain.
Still an entertaining read though!
15 Jun 2026 19:52:42
I'm with you, Irrvine Blue. McInnes did great with much poorer teams. I liked Rohl, but he wanted to be closer to family, and now we have a legacy manager who is in his dream job and won't look for a move.
I'm excited and think it's the start of something special. Him and Shanks will also be keen to destroy Celtic after the end of the season. You can all come back and hammer me if he gets the sack in November.
15 Jun 2026 19:57:05
Peterpan, Callum Davidson won 2 cups and with clubs with lesser budget than McInnes so you can't use that as an excuse mate.
15 Jun 2026 20:00:45
Irvine, what about the good decision they got earlier in the season? You can't say that decision cost them when they had a good few that went for them also, or do we just forget about them because it doesn't suit your narrative?
15 Jun 2026 20:08:46
Not sad to see the back of the Danny Rohl song, it went on a bit.
15 Jun 2026 20:24:26
Sad and excited, Danny could have been the messiah, but Derek loves it.
15 Jun 2026 20:39:25
We were not going to win league with Dr, we have a much better chance with McInnes in charge, just my opinion, but think the majority of the support would agree, give him the strong spine of team we need and we won't be far away.
15 Jun 2026 21:52:07
Danny Rohl came into a mess. Team was shocking couldn't defend, couldn't attack & couldn't put 2 passes together. Some on here & elsewhere saying this is the worst Rangers team of all time (McCoist's team that failed promotion is).
Rohl got them better defensively, then some complained we weren't attacking enough & then we couldn't defend when being more attacking, but suddenly everyone is saying this is the best team in the league.
Rohl wasn't the one who spent 30 to 40 million (whatever the value was). That was Thelwell & Martin, so I don't know how he gets the blame for that. Rohl (or whoever was in charge) brought in 4 players & 2 were decent. Naderi, unfortunately, got injured, missed most of the season, & Olsen was just a waste, but we needed more than 4.
Rohl got us closer than any manager since Gerrard & yes, we finished 3rd, but if Celtic never hired Nancy we'd of finished 3rd anyway & Celtic would of won the league sooner. If Rohl lost the dressing room or players down tool after for whatever, then those players need to leave, as no matter the problem, there was a title to be won & they put that problem first; they let themselves down, the club & us fans.
Some folk acting like McInnes is some lord & saviour when he's not even in the door, nevermind had a match. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this going the way everyone thinks. McInnes has never had to play against a low block like we do most week, never had to break teams down & his style is the low block.
15 Jun 2026 22:11:45
Djb can't disagree with anything you said there. My one hope is that McInnes played the low block, so perhaps by knowing how to stop teams playing against it, he will know how to beat it as well.
He does like direct football and wide players, both of which are known ways to do it. But until he gets a team on park we will never know as you say.
15 Jun 2026 23:12:51
Some of these comments are a disgrace, but not surprising sadly. Rohl is highly regarded in Germany and the Red Bull group. Klopp recommended him, and yet some fans seem to think they know better and that Danny was hopeless.
15 Jun 2026 23:48:34
Stormtrooper, regardless of the St Mirren game, they were well on the way to the league. What a comment to make. You sure your name isn't Chris Sutton? Comparing Hearts decisions to Celtics, as a Rangers fan, oh dear.
16 Jun 2026 01:16:30
Sorry, but anyone that says we should have fought to keep Rohl is not using their brain. He always had one foot out the door, and we all know it, and players knew it. In fact his family still in Germany said it all. He never saw himself at Rangers long term.
16 Jun 2026 06:46:55
I thank Rohl, and some just can't leave it, and wish the guy well, instead of continuing with he's this, that and the next thing. The man is away. ?
16 Jun 2026 08:27:54
Forever, following that logic, Gerrard's family stayed in England whilst he was here. So why is everyone moaning (still ?) about him leaving when it was so obvious he was going to move? If he was here long-term, he would have moved his family.
Or this is normal for football managers, where even UK based ones' families don't move so as to not disrupt their kids.
McInnes family stayed back in Renfrewshire when he moved to Bristol, being the perfect example.
So it isn't unusual for family to stay where their kids go to school.
So just choose facts and make them fit despite the same happening all over football.
