Following my post last week a further update.
Danny Williams (Wasserman Football Agent) met with Rangers officials again this week
Dan Neil has indicated he will sign for Rangers.
I am also of the understanding we have a goal keeper and left back deal pending and they will be here for pre season in June.

Quite a few ex-linked players and Dan Neil are represented by Wasserman (The Team) agency. Couple weeks, and we should hear more about this GK and LB, then hopefully be seen as preseason starts 19th. Not long to wait, folks.

I think it was EHL who said a wee while ago now that he had info we had already agreed a deal on signing a new goalkeeper and he was German, Ernst perhaps. ? I really do rate and hope we do sign Dan Neil, mate, and I actually heard today that we're interested in Motherwell left back Emmanuel Longelo, and I can't remember what other poster mentioned Longelo also the other day there.
? Every time I've seen Longelo against us this season, I've been really impressed with him, as he's fast, strong and athletic and a goal scoring threat as we have found out. ? I honestly wanted us to sign James Penrice so we had him and Rommens as our left backs, but if it were to be Longelo I would be happy enough with him from what I've seen of him so far. ? I'm now beginning to think we won't be signing James Penrice. ☹️??

Aphelion has mentioned the name Tjark Ernst a few times, but no way has he posted that we are linked with him.
Think he is currently with Hertha Berlin.

That contradicts what I heard previously, as was hearing the OOC GK was Stefan Ortega (Nottingham Forest) who isn't with Wasserman.
TBH was hoping that was true, as he is just what we need, experienced GK, good with his feet.

Someone definitely said the GK was German, but I'm 100% sure it wasn't Ehl. I actually think it was Aphe, and not only saying that, cause he's not here, and I'm not saying it as a criticism either, as it could be true.

Ayrshire, I think Aphe gave a list of 4 GKs who were all either playing in Germany or were German. Someone else said we have got an OOC or prearranged GK, and then I think both have become intertwined and confused over time.

No one mentioned the nationality of the GK. People are getting mixed up, I think, because EHL said OOC GK and Ape posted a list of German GK.

Is it just me that really hopes Stefan Ortega is not going to end up with us? He'll be 34 in November (I know goalkeepers do play till their late 30's, but still, I'd kind of like someone with a bit more 'longevity'), and he's only ever played as a first choice keeper in the German 2nd division.
He's been a back up keeper and hardly really played for the last 5 years. Personally, would prefer someone who's been a regular no. 1. ?

We keep getting told this boy's quality and he may well turn out to be, but sorry, it's not a good sign for me when Ipswich fans are less than complimentary about him, saying he's a bit part player and not up to going up a level.
Does not bode well. Hopefully he just needs someone to take the chance on him, but I'd certainly be pitting in some sort of escape clause and not too high wages in any potential deal.

What is going on here these days with all the he said she said? It's a rumours site ? ?. Sometimes people are wrong, sometimes people are right, all the time it shouldn't matter. We are all Rangers fans (well there are some darksiders here hiding).
Why can't people just get on and have proper debates about players? I, for one, have no clue who any of these keepers are, lol. Pretty sure I might be an upgrade on Butland tho.

I done an archive search, lots of talk about Germans, CH's, Keepers from lots of different posters and Coops saying it was EHL in April as well ? sorry Coops ?? but nowhere did I see anyone say we have or are going to sign a German Keeper in any posts.
Opinion and suggestions only, nothing concrete anywhere, might go back further but can't see anything back to March.

Everyone gets stuff wrong. I wasn't saying it as a oh there's a red mark on Aphe; it was purely because I remembered it being discussed as said we were after a German keeper or a keeper from Germany, but I don't remember anyone actually saying it as their rumour in a post.

Ayrshire - you've nothing to apologise for, mate. I don't think anyone was directing anything at you, as you were right in saying it was Aphe who pushed the idea. However, I think things have got confused between his opinion on who we "should" sign and who "has" signed.
I did the same as Fork and checked my facts before posting, unlike some who call people out for pulling people up, whilst pulling people up in the same comment. Always found the "holier-than-thou" to be odd behaviour.

EHL was involved in conversations when the German GK was being spoken about, but he never brought it up or said we were signing one.
Aphelion spoke about Ernst and Seimen a lot, even back in January. However, a lot of that talk was his opinion and his opinion only, not stating we had signed or agreed to sign any of them.

Yeah, we were hopeful of a loan to buy option - which would have been an incredible piece of business - but sounds like he's favouring remaining in Germany.
Both Aphelion's post and Ehl's were in relation to Tjark Ernst.
