Current chat in Holland about propper seems to be that "The central defender therefore wants to receive financial compensation from Glasgow before permanently leaving. "
Maybe not too surprising given we gave him a substantial increase in his salary when he signed for us. Sounds like we might need to pay the difference in his wage if he's to go. Yet another poor step for us in the transger market.

Perhaps he should have produced his side of the bargain and played some football whilst he was here.
14 Jul 2025 09:39:10
He won't be on a massive wage. The difference will be negligible i would think.
14 Jul 2025 09:39:34
Not the story I've heard.
All delays on this one have been from our side - everything from Propers side has been agreed.
14 Jul 2025 09:46:42
If Souttar, Nsiala, and Davies go, we're light at CB. Maybe Robin should be told he can certainly collect the same wage as per his contract, but he'll have to stay at the same club. As backup.
Alternatively, he can have a clean break and go home on the lower wage he was on before he came here.

Propper is moving back to Holland. He's already carried out his preparations for going back. Things such as his telephone, wifi and tv supplier have all disconnected his services. ?.
14 Jul 2025 10:08:15
To be fair to him, he signed a contract and that should be honoured. I've no real objection to this to be honest. Some comments about him on here are out of order though.
14 Jul 2025 10:21:05
We gave him a contract; we now want rid of him so why would he not want us to honour that contract. I have no issue with that and any one of us in same situation in their job would want the same.
14 Jul 2025 10:34:54
He played some football here, that was the problem.
Unfair to blame him, we should have done more due diligence.
14 Jul 2025 10:59:54
Put him with the U16s. He can sit, miss a year and get even worse if possible, or he can be a man, admit he isn't good enough and go back to where he is wanted and respected, because that isn't here.
Have no issue with him putting the cones out for the kids for a season, he isn't a high earner.
14 Jul 2025 11:05:14
That's standard Yo and common ground will be found. I'm very much in the player camp on this as he has a contract that club agreed on.
14 Jul 2025 11:06:19
I think we got exactly the player we bought. Sadly too slow and not physical/ dominant enough for our league. I don't think for a second that he wasn't trying, or it's otherwise his fault that it didn't work out.
I never understand fans thinking players should take a financial hit to move on. We've contracted to giving him a certain amount, and I'm sure 99.9% of fans would do the same as he is, and all other players do.
We gain nothing from punting him to he reserves for the remainder of his contract. Sadly better to pay up the difference in his wage with a view to moving him on. I think realistically that would be c £500k-£1m to come from the transfer fee. It's not ideal, but it's our fault for signing the wrong guy and giving him substantially more than what he was on.
14 Jul 2025 11:38:14
I believe his salary increased massively when he moved to us, so it makes perfect sense for him to sit tight if that's the case.
You can't grudge a player for wanting what is in his contract. He potentially uprooted a settled family to move here. He should be fairly compensated as per his contract.
14 Jul 2025 11:27:49
Jasper what deals can you do for me on my WiFi tv etc ??.
14 Jul 2025 11:42:17
Some of the comments are crazy. Apparently he was on £5k pw at Twente. And apparently he is now on £15k pw.
Is there anyone on this chat that would take a £10k pw wage drop or even a 66% wage drop because you shouldn't have been offered the job?
Of course not, you would sit tight and try and earn the maximum amount you could for your family. Be professional try and give your employer everything you can - to the best of your ability (which may not be good enough)
But you wouldn't just walk away from that money. It's life changing.
14 Jul 2025 11:44:32
Appreciate the guy didn't exactly set the place on fire, but talk of him Souttar Davies Nsiala and the loss of Balogun, have NOT been covered (in my opinion) by the signings so far.
Both new centre backs look raw and untried at European level never mind some of the battles we will have at home, worried. com.
14 Jul 2025 11:48:10
Stig, unfortunately i'm not the engineer. Just know the person that done the works. ?.
14 Jul 2025 11:59:25
Damn… ?.
14 Jul 2025 12:17:42
I am surprised propper isn't loved by some Rangers fans as some love katic who was rank rotten but scored against Celtic.
14 Jul 2025 12:38:32
Financial compensation? He should be compensating us fans for having to watch his pathetic performances! Had to get a blood transfusion he made my eyes bleed that much!
14 Jul 2025 12:38:38
We will be light in centre backs even if Davies, Propper and Souttar stay but if Propper insists on us honouring his contract then he has a point . If he doesn't fancy the move then fine, but he should be made to train every day as per his contract but never get picked as is our right.
Transfers happen all the time when moves haven't worked out, the player has to decide whether to leave or whether to stay. If he feels the deal with Twente isn't right for him then fair enough but there should be no pay off by us.
14 Jul 2025 12:55:52
Some valid points made around us doing better when buying such players.
However he came from £5k so going back to it shouldn't be too hard to deal with. My heart bleeds for him.
We need to get our act together fast with the defence because right now it's ropey!
We need an experienced marshal because Souttar is not that man and could be away.
If Souttar goes would Coady and say McKenna be worthwhile? I'm not a fan but there are good reasons to consider him.
14 Jul 2025 13:19:26
Twente are buying him out his contract. Its mutual ground going back to them. It looks like a non story tbh.
14 Jul 2025 13:23:07
Bar72 thought Dijga had UCL experience?
14 Jul 2025 14:11:44
Jasper, that's makes total sense. We cut our loses and move on.
14 Jul 2025 15:22:19
Djiga has played 14 games in the Champions League and 5 in the Champions league qualifiers.
When he was at Red Star Belgrade the same team he won the Serbian league with twice and the Serbian cup once.
He only signed for wolves on a 5 year deal 4 months ago.
14 Jul 2025 15:41:15
Proper was part of the best defence in the Eredivise the season prior to joining us, and the dutch league is much better than ours.
I don't think Propper carries all the responsibility for last seasons defensive failings the entire defence was poor in the majority of games, with souttar and Balogun the best of the lot when they were both fit to play.
14 Jul 2025 15:50:15
He signed in March?
14 Jul 2025 15:53:38
Storm, did Propper not score against the Tim's?
14 Jul 2025 16:05:26
Of that was the case i'd just tell him we will sell souttar and leave you on bench for next couple years of your career instead.
14 Jul 2025 18:25:02
How can Propper be on £15k a week when he was brought in under the new wage ceiling of £10k a week?
