Unsurprisingly we're finding it difficult to get deals done for outgoing players this early in the window, however there is some good news brewing.
The big concern right now is the potential risk of priority targets moving elsewhere before we're in a position to make a move.
Tough introduction to life at Rangers for Thelwell and co.
30 Jun 2025 09:31:28
Very frustrating EHL as long as You're still confident of the league title coming home ?.
30 Jun 2025 09:34:26
No spent a penny yet! If we are waiting to sell before we buy then players will have zero time to gel in and get used to the system! I expected more tbh, this is boring! We were told things would move quick and told to strap in. Handbrakes on and seat belts off!
30 Jun 2025 09:35:35
We are screwed then if we are reliant on getting rid of players nobody wants.
30 Jun 2025 09:45:52
This is all sounding very familiar again ehl its going to be another one of those summers we end up on choice 4 for players if anyone actually leaves that is.
Its hard to fet excited about going through this yet again and this is why its a multi year project.
I fully expect to be out of europe which should hopefully help us focus more on domestic football and who knows maybe we could be a close second this season which would be an improvement and that's all we can realisticly hope for this season.
30 Jun 2025 09:45:57
Said from very start makimg thr champs league this season is a huge ask.
30 Jun 2025 09:46:15
Some fans are already wanting martin to fail.
30 Jun 2025 09:47:12
This was my fear when Birmingham didn't come in for Davies and Dowell straight away that it could be late in the window before any outgoings will happen, certainly for the players that have been deemed not required. Hopefully it doesn't impact our push for Champ league, going to be a long nervous transfer window I feel.
30 Jun 2025 09:49:41
Same story as last season, was hoping we had learned our lessons, we settled for 3rd/ 4th placed options
Propper and Bajrami to name but 2, we went early to secure Igamane, now reaping those rewards
We've got to look past this short term mentality to move forward
Look at Liverpool, go early, get your number one targets then sell the dross.
30 Jun 2025 10:06:01
Are you saying that we are going to make the move EHL or we financially cannot until we offload which is unlikely in short term?
30 Jun 2025 10:07:01
What's the good news brewing eEHL? An incoming transfer or something bigger?
30 Jun 2025 10:16:59
I thought it was said on here that a few players were close to leaving.
30 Jun 2025 10:26:20
Think I'll concentrate on the good news brewing
Any way you could expand on that part EHL
hopefully we can sell a couple of players soon and then we can get things moving
Is it because of FFP we can't buy until we sell
Can we buy then sell later in window or is that not allowed
Or is it solely down to the new board not wanting to spend money until money comes in and freed up?
30 Jun 2025 10:33:01
Fingers need to get pulled out, 22 days to CL qualis, and players we need aren't in the building, will they have time to gel?
30 Jun 2025 10:35:26
FGS boys this is going to take time to fix the sheet that has been left for the new regime - it will not happen overnight so let's not set our expectations at warp speed and get real with current situation - RM needs rated when we see how team performs in first 6 months when he has some players in and more importantly the highly paid rubbish out the door (if that truly happens) - let's hope for European progress but don't expect it - league form is where the judgment will lie - initially?.
30 Jun 2025 10:43:04
I did try to manage the expectations on transfers - but was shot down by the usual experts.
I said, and still believe, I expect the line upon the first qualifier to have no more than 1 or 2 new recruits.
Now that teams down south are starting to report back, there are a couple of moves progressing - will hopefully see 2, of not 3 moves concluded by the end of this week.
30 Jun 2025 10:45:45
Stig, it's less about the funds for transfers, we are fine with that and there will be some new commercial announcements that coming in to play next month.
It's simply because we have a first team squad of 30 players, 10 of which are beyond the wage cap for their role in the team.
30 Jun 2025 10:46:46
Breathe! give things just a wee bit time. they have one tough job sorting out the current situation, hopefully something positive this week .
30 Jun 2025 10:48:55
Jeez EHL you've managed to make me nervous and excited about the coming days and weeks in a single short post ?.
30 Jun 2025 11:15:18
I trust the New guys know what they are doing. But it doesn't mean I don't get the fear of the lack of movement both ways. We desperately need players off the wage bill. but are running out of time to get quality players in a time scale that helps CL qualifying. So glad I don't run a football club. Pulling my hair out just as a fan.
30 Jun 2025 11:26:51
Ehl what about the players who left in the summer. Xerny hagi kasa surely at least they need replaced. Balogun as well.
30 Jun 2025 11:30:24
Definitely sure things will start happening tomorrow onwards it's just all this waiting till 1st July making everyone impatient.
So tomorrow it is onwards and upwards WRTP.
30 Jun 2025 11:46:41
Yes just the news I wanted to hear today is that we are willing to lose out on our number 1 targets because we can't shift the deadwood.
I'm glad this board are learning from the past and realising that to be the huge success we have been we need to get our number 2/ 3/ 4 targets instead.
30 Jun 2025 12:16:17
OWS, they have all been replaced already - Cameron, Aaron's, Davies, Matondo, Dowell and Cifuentes.
30 Jun 2025 12:20:12
New season, same pant wetting impatience. Be realistic guys, the deals will happen when they happen. Crying about it won't make them happen any earlier.
30 Jun 2025 12:24:23
That's true forgetting they all came back on the wage bill ??
Look forward to see some moves soon then
Also look forward to see what is announced in commercial side too
Thanks for update EHL.
30 Jun 2025 12:32:10
I do actually believe that RM will give them all a chance. He may be able to get them into a system that suits them. The only one that I think we could all say they haven't been good on a consistent basis is cifuentes, dowell and mccausland. The others have had some good moments, matondos goal against them. davies being fairly solid in a few games, even young King doing a job at RB. I think most will be given a chance to prove themselves in a system that works for them. PC tried to shoehorn players into a system that suited him not them. Hopefully RM is a bit wiser and a good manager is only as good as the tools he has so why not utilise them for the job they were trained for.
30 Jun 2025 12:35:12
Ows you do know the loan players are back so whoever left has been replaced maybe not with what we want right enough.
We have been hearing about new commercial deals on here since the take over saying it's happening this week or next now it's over the next month.
30 Jun 2025 13:12:23
We have lost Balogun, Hagi, Lawrence, Cerny, Fernandes and Kasanwirjo from last seasons squad and only signed Aarons and Cameron. The others mentioned were our players anyway and we were probably paying part of their wages . Unless Martin had decided that some of these guys are going to play a part this season we should be pushing to get rid of them . Birmingham want Davies ( maybe even Dowell) and Twente want Propper so get them moved on . Igamane and Dessers will probably be sold too so we should be prepared to at least bring in some of our targets and not lose them .
30 Jun 2025 13:13:08
Wishful thinking gersgirl. They are not good enough. All these clean slates after changing manager is one cause of the issues we now face.
30 Jun 2025 16:14:24
We will have 20 - 25 mill for transfers soon enough.
Dessers - Feyenoord, 5-6 mill.
Igamane - Marseille. 18 - 20 mill.
A proven goalscorer and a rising star, changes happening soon regards funds.
30 Jun 2025 16:20:40
3 loan players and 3 players that were leaving anyway.
plus releasing the unwanted young lads so they can find football elsewhere.
I see it as more of a squad trim, before we fatten up the squad with fresh quality.
Aarons and Muliigan are excellent additions.
Turgeman and others will start arriving once the sales go through.
Better we don't rush, as the squags not as bad as it seems.
we still a lot of the backbone of the team from last season that we know can not only beat Celtic, but complletely out play them and we know it, with the right additons it's on bigtime.
30 Jun 2025 16:21:16
Cameron not Mulligan .
