I heard recently that Everton used to play at Anfield until there was a falling out over rent - don't know how much truth is in that?
And then when Everton left, the guy who owned the stadium then formed Liverpool - again don't know how much truth is in that.
It was on a radio station ( not a sports one ).

Whiteshark that is a myth from what I have read about the two clubs. both we founded by wealthy, middle class protestant businessmen, although the original amateur team who became Everton was founded by the Methodist church.

there was no religious bias in the origins of the club and the differences, and the split were all borne out of business, politics and alcohol (Houlding was a brewer and wanted to sell his product at Everton's Anfield).

the religion came into it when Irish immigrants arrived into the city and the clubs wanted to appeal to groups of these immigrants.

Ultimately, neither Liverpool nor Everton ever operated as religiously exclusive clubs. Unlike the strict historical divides in Glasgow, families in Liverpool have always been happily intermixed with both "Reds" and "Blues" regardless of their religious faith.

Stevie your a man after my own heart. anywhere where the travel advice says don't go, and to be honest so far the advice is always wrong and the majority of people you meet genuinely want to help. don't get me wrong you have to keep your wits about you and don't be overly trusting.

remember that for a lot of these places, a few dollars in your pocket is more than they earn for a month so you can become a target very quickly.
