On the subject of Ryan Naderi and there was debate about this in the stand at the game last night, is he the answer and a starter going forward in the Rangers team. 🤔 TBH the majority were saying that he tries but runs about aimlessly, which i thought was a bit unfair. 🤔
Most in the copland reckoned he wasn't the answer going forward and never near a £5million forward. 🤔 So my question to one and all to our goalscorer last night is this is Ryan Naderi a constant starter in our Rangers team going forward. 🤔
ED, could you please run a Ryan Naderi poll to gauge all our feelings on Naderi. 👍My poll being "Do you rate Ryan Naderi as a Rangers starter going forward or is he not the answer". 🤔 As always many thanks ED. 👍

Coops, never made game last night, but went onto the Live chat late on and they were all saying how well Naderi had played and won us the game?? Not for me and no doubt I can't question his effort, but the performance was nowhere near a Rangers player!! We paid £5 million for this guy. 🫣🤟👍
21 Aug 2026 13:21:05
He is never the answer, Coops. Runs about all night, but is a defender's dream to play against. He can't jump for a ball, is easy to barge off the ball, and has no close control.
As I stated last night, he reminds me of a third tier player from the German lower divisions. Oh wait! I think of Sebo when I see him. I wonder why?
21 Aug 2026 13:33:17
Naderi is similar in ability to Florian Kamberi.
21 Aug 2026 13:34:35
Sws, I wonder when you get time to watch the game when you are chatting to everyone in the Copland Stand.
Naderi puts the effort in and is on 2 goals in 2 games. He also has most goal involvements for us this season. Last night he finished with team-high totals for successful dribbles (three), duels won (eight) and aerial duels won (four).
Not bad for a player who can't jump for the ball and has no close control. 😉
So, he can and will improve, but needs a run of games and confidence that he belongs at a club like Rangers.
21 Aug 2026 13:37:54
He isn't a starter yet, but that's two goals in his last two games. Both important goals also. He was a bit clumsy on the ball at times, but he leads the line well off the ball.
He was also being fouled numerous times by their centre half, but not getting owt from the referee.
21 Aug 2026 13:11:56
That conversation being mentioned just shows how little the average football fan understands about how football actually works
21 Aug 2026 14:14:49
If Naderi can get a goal per game for most of the season, he will be away for big bucks to Germany. I really like the big man, he's got bags of potential and will only get better. Only a young guy, you've got to remember that, work horse and a poacher. Pretty unique.
21 Aug 2026 14:21:27
I think Naderi has a great attitude, somewhat raw talent that can be improved and I actually think he'll score loads of goals if he gets a run in the team. I can also see a player who might not be too graceful but again if he plays every week I think his stats would be good.
21 Aug 2026 14:27:24
I don't think Naderi is the answer at the moment but he does prompt another question, why is he preferred to our new captain in the line up. Even last night when Ryan was running on fumes, Shankland still wasn't put on until about 5 minutes from the end. The reason is that the big guy runs himself into the ground, chasing and harrying and working off the ball.
Last night he scored, laid on two chances which Dragojevic and Gassama missed and probably should have had a penalty. We probably need better, but it's obvious that we don't have better at the club just now.
21 Aug 2026 14:31:51
His attitude and work rate is never in question, it's his ability.
21 Aug 2026 14:43:16
Something about Naderi I like. Never going to be prolific but he's a good foil for the right partner. One issue I have is he's too isolated at times. He needs more support closer to him, I think, to get the best out of him.
21 Aug 2026 13:40:54
2 starts, 2 goals for a striker played in his preferred position as the focal point of the attack.
21 Aug 2026 13:46:57
Angus, have you ever heard of half time, mate? 🤔 It happens in football, you know. 😂
21 Aug 2026 14:05:03
You spoke to everyone in Copland at HT?
I questioned the signing of Naderi right from the start because of where he came from 3rd division Germany.
He does more upfront than Shankland does, and they are the only two we have right now, as McInnes won't play Miovski.
We need a striker in asap.
As mph said, 2 in 2 playing up top. But going forward we need better.
21 Aug 2026 14:08:26
Naderi leads the line very well, still only a young player, and will only improve his game, but I'm looking for better cf right now, but he'd be my choice between him, Shankland, and Miovski.
21 Aug 2026 14:08:37
How about just agreeing he is currently the best we have for the role we need played. When it's 1 up, then I don't think either of the rest can do it. I am sure he will get better. Someone previously seen his ability, so let's hope it comes out in the near future.
Why are we always so quick at hammering our own?
21 Aug 2026 14:11:32
The boy looks awkward sometimes and that makes some think he's amateurish, far from it tho.
21 Aug 2026 16:14:34
That's fine, Angus. 😂 I should have worded it better that I was speaking to the supporters who sit very close to me in the Copland about Naderi at half time, mate. 👍🇬🇧
21 Aug 2026 16:24:05
Naderi is the new Dessers.
21 Aug 2026 15:03:03
He's good enough to be in of 3 options, mate, and for me he'd be back up, never first choice.
In maybe 2 years, I feel he'd be a good enough player to be a starter.
If we were in a better position as a club, he'd benefit from being loaned out for a year down south.
21 Aug 2026 15:10:44
Naderi is exactly what you get for £5m from countries like Germany in the January market, which is always inflated. But I believe he has done well. In addition to other positive comments, he is a good first line of defence, knows where other players are on the pitch, and will score goals as he attacks the 6 yard box, as shown last night.
I don't think cf should be our main priority, especially with the system of the last two games.
21 Aug 2026 15:30:28
How many chances did we actually create for him? Not many. Would rather have him playing than the Static Shankland & Miovski. He's also always against 3 or 4 players cause no one else gets in the box to take players away.
Who is the answer, cause Dessers wasn't enough to some despite his numbers, Chermiti isn't good either to some. So who is? We aren't going to get prolific goalscorer for cheap nor will we keep them long enough.
21 Aug 2026 15:34:06
He'll score in the run of the mill games, but I can't see him impacting games against the better teams we play, unfortunately. He'll be our next enigma. Looks very awkward, but will get numbers.
21 Aug 2026 15:55:19
Blue last night wasn't a run of the mill game.
21 Aug 2026 15:58:08
SWS, I was taking the mick out of you saying most of the Copeland so you must have spoken to all of them. It was just the way you wrote it. 🤷
21 Aug 2026 16:06:34
Rohl pushed to sign Naderi in January. If he thought that highly of him, why is he not pushing to sign him now?
21 Aug 2026 16:45:48
I wish he was like Dessers, John. He won't get Dessers numbers.
21 Aug 2026 16:54:13
Ryan Naderi remains a work in progress, but he is 💯 playing for the jersey, he gives everything he has, he's only going to get better, and with the improvement in wide players hopefully being added to the squad, you can see that the manager recognises his potential from cross balls. Naderi, I think, is going to prove to be an absolute class act.
21 Aug 2026 16:58:43
I like Naderi, he is still young. Scored in the last 2 games and last night also laid a cross into Gassama who missed the goal - he should've been on 1 assist too. Made a couple of crucial clearances back helping in defence after Devlin's red card. He was our best player last night.
I'd start him in the next game. It is up to Shanks and Mio to put him under pressure for the starting slot - everyone needs to raise their game. Let's support the players when they do well - there are others in the team that didn't play well last night.
21 Aug 2026 17:15:42
John, you hit the nail on the head. We chased Dessers out for not scoring 30 plus per season. What do we want from our strikers now? Is it 30 or 40 per season?
21 Aug 2026 17:26:45
Jfm, at this stage, I would not bet against it. Let's all them like Dessers come on and say they always knew he would get 20 plus a year.
21 Aug 2026 17:28:31
Sws, I had guessed that and was just having a joke.
21 Aug 2026 17:36:45
Don't think so, Dtb. 🤔 A lot of very knowledgeable men and women go to the games and know the game inside out, my friend. Regarding Naderi, it's nothing to do with anyone's knowledge on football, it's about different opinions, pal, simple as that. 🤔 🇬🇧

In fairness, do the bouncy you demonstrate it regularly on here with your responses.
