First time post, long time lurker.
Following on from a disappointing start I wanted to share a few of my thoughts and see what others are thinking.
I for one am fully onboard with Mcinnes, watched GoRadio last night and coudln't actuallly believe some people are already calling for Mcinnes' head, it's baffling.
I completely get and share the desire and urgency for a sucessful team but there's a loud miniority of fans that are never happy with what they get, even when it's exactly what was asked for. Personally, I think we need to swallow a bit of our pride and admit this might take 2 or 3 windows before we are capable of winning a league. The way I see it we are in a similiar situation that Gerrard walked into, albeit, not as bad.
55 was 5 years ago and every facet of that squad is gone. It is incredibly frustrating to admit that this where we are and how far we have regressed as a club and a team.
I just really do not want to see another manager out the door before he has had a real chance, especially Mcinnes. I would urge everyone to show patience, and when I say that I mean a couple of transfer windows. Not just seeing him through to January.
Would like to hear everyone's thoughts.

Totally agree. Now is the time for real patience. We are not the club we once were and cannot attract finished article players, unfortunately. We will have to be very wise in the transfer market, and it will be frustrating. 1st, 2nd and maybe even 3rd choice players will be difficult to attract to the SPL. We cannot keep changing managers ...

Great first post, mate, I agree with you. This isn't a quick fix, no matter the manager. We have got to trust someone with a few windows to sort this mess out. Since Gerrard, the recruitment has been 90% abysmal and it isn't fixed in one window.

100% spot on. We're making it worse by desperately trying to force it - eg risky signings, firing manager every time there's a bad run, not bringing through young players, etc. We need to re-establish good foundations and build a whole club over a couple of years that's capable of winning for 10 or 20 years from then on.
Sometimes think the club would be better off just saying that, even if angers some fans, rather than participating in the charade we're aiming to win that year's title.

Welcome, super good to have you on board, mate. I agree with what you say about 2 or 3 windows, as what is the alternative to sack another manager, backroom team, and start again? Trying to implement yet another playing style, it's not hard to figure out that's not working, so let's give someone time and see how we go.

Any management needs time to put his stamp of it. This revolving door is the reason we win nothing. Talk about Mciness not being good enough after a few games is laughable, but nothing shocks me with some fans now.

Welcome, mate, I think you sound way too sensible for some of our lot. I do not think it a coincidence that the last time any manager was given the space to build was the last time we were successful. I am with you, I cannot believe some of the things I hear/read from fellow fans.

Cambiger, if managers don't get a good few windows and a couple of years for building a squad good enough, we will continue winning nothing, but the fans see nothing like that, they want instant success, but that just doesn't happen, or you need everything to fall into place, and that won't happen very often.

We have to learn to stick with our manager, let him implement his style of play/tactics, and support him with recruitment. The biggest issue, I think, is the recruitment has been poor, whether it's them settling, which will take time, the player not suited to the manager's style, or just the pressure of playing for Rangers, but we can't keep changing managers/head coaches, then have another new squad of players to suit.

Absolutely guys. 👍 Irrespective of what happens this season, Derek McInnes absolutely has to be given the time and helped massively by our recruitment team over at least a couple of transfer windows, to build the squad he wants. 🤔 This was never going to be a quick fix and we've tried this quick hire and fire of managers which was never going to work.
Our club needs stability and, even if it takes time in the short term to build the team, we have to bite the bullet and allow that time for McInnes to rebuild his Rangers squad. 🤔 🇬🇧

Don't know why you guys are surprised, our fans are shocking. If we don't get instant success then he is a failure apparently. Same as the players,
We all want to win the league but we will never win it with these continual rinse and repeat.

McInnes fails this season, then he will not be given time. As the fans won't allow it, whether that's right or wrong is a different matter.

Good 1st post, and to expand on it, you need to read EHL's excellent article at the top of this page. So, it isn't only about buying players with ability, as we have done that with players who were successful at their previous club. However, they have never encountered the unique psychological challenges required to play for this club, and we give them a year or less (which isn't enough time), and then boot them out, so they never do develop that.
Then we bring in the next lot, who are the same, and then rinse and repeat. We need to build that psychology across seasons, not games.

I don't think that will be the case this time, Storm, regarding McInnes, mate. 🤔 Our CEO Jim Gillespie pushed so hard to appoint McInnes, and imo he'll give McInnes the time and won't bow to supporters' pressure. 🤔

So far, McInnes has picked the wrong team and formation twice, struggled to get a draw against Dundee United, and got well beaten by an average Jagiellonia. Assuming that he has a say in recruitment, which he says he has, he has sanctioned the purchase of some very questionable signings, notably McCrorie (never a Rangers right back), Godfrey, and Devlin, with the jury still out on a few others (Neil and others).
He has not done what I thought he would, which is get us organised and at least hard to beat, and he continues to give yet another chance to the likes of Aasgaard and Diomande, who any fan could tell him are just hopeless. I'm not saying sack him, but it's right that the fans are questioning what is going on because he is getting an easy ride from those who chased other managers out of the club.

There is always 2 sides of this argument for me. Yes, the squad is poor atm and everyone can see it needs some serious reinforcing in key areas.
However, we still have the 2nd best squad in the league and should win every single home game this season. So, when that doesn't naturally happen, people will question the manager's performance. It's only naturally.

What I would say to that WSL is that McInnes is currently in a bit of an unwinnable situation.
As many have said, the recruitment has been lackluster to say the least, and I would pin the blame on the incomings on Purdy and Thelwell Jr rather than McInnes, who has been in the door all of 5 minutes, as well as many of the players who are here not being up to the standard. I will concede he needs to be picking players in the correct positions, eg, playing Sterling out of position and left Makhanya on the bench. Other than that, I think his hands are tied, the players who have been here proved they're not up to task and the new signings being very underwhelming and a general lack of real quality.
This is why I said I would like to see him get multiple windows, as this squad is going to take more than one summer to shape into a Derek McInnes team.
I believe we will get better with time and grow into the season. No one is denying that our first results were very disappointed, but it is far too early to judge him currently. That being said, if it doesn't work out, I also won't be surprised. But if McInnes is a failure it will be because he was set up to fail from the start.

Honestly man, how many managers have had £40m spent on their squads for it to be acceptable to finish 3rd?
Again, we have brought in many players this season with and looking like we will eventually spend decent cash again. If McInnes fails, then he will be gone, no doubt about that!
