What exactly is going on at club,
We now have Bajrami away to Saudi on loan, but only option, he will be back in same situation next summer.
Probably will have same with Macauslan.
We wonder why we are way behind them financially it not all down to CL money, its down to recruitment, how much money have we wasted on players that no one wants to buy or we make very little money on.
Of players we have bought this window are they likely to make large sum in future sales, very unlikely
We hear all these inflated figures for, Fernandez, Raskin, Diomande, Barron, Chermiti, but have we actually had any offers anywhere near what we value them at.

Clubs need to want to buy the players we have, but getting loan fees in for some we are struggling to move along, and their wages covered, is much better than having them on the books draining the club no?
05 Aug 2026 00:15:45
Did someone not mention it's something like pushing money to next year accounts rather than one calendar year, like safeguarding transfer fee / available funds for next season, sorry if I'm wrong, that was my take on it anyway.

A lot of these loan deals depend on what's best for the club financially, etc.
Most deals are split over the length of a contract. We were 2 years into a 4yr deal with Bajrami, who we bought for £3.5m, so most likely still owe £1.75m to Sassuolo.
If we sold him for £2.5m, we would technically only have made £750k from that deal. We have just sent him on loan with a rumoured £1m fee, with an option to buy at £2.5m next summer.
It's actually good business for the club, and the Saudi club picks up his wages.
Similar with Danilo, but in that case, it would actually hurt us financially to sell him at this time for the rumoured fee, rather than loan him with the option.
That's the way I have interpreted what's been said on here previously. I might be wrong.
05 Aug 2026 01:24:44
What are we realistically looking at getting for Danilo?
05 Aug 2026 06:48:23
What's going on is that the club are doing the best deals they can.
It's pretty obvious that if there were better deals on the table we'd take them.
05 Aug 2026 07:09:53
Ehl, some just won't think of that mate and only want to have a go at the club at the slightest small thing. 🤔 The glass half empty crew will never change because that's what they do. 👎
05 Aug 2026 07:26:16
And the exact opposite as well, u have to be balanced if you have a different perspective from that that u choose to highlight.
05 Aug 2026 07:55:41
He hasn't played any football in 2 years, so it's the best deal for the buying club. Much like we do, they take him on loan and see how he performs.
I imagine clubs are not desperate to pay a big fee for him otherwise.
In the meantime, we get his wages paid, probably a fee, and hopefully he does well and they purchase him.
We did the same with Olsen last year.
05 Aug 2026 08:09:59
With respects, Coops, have you been awake over the last 13 years? The glass, as you say, is 'half empty' because it's been failure after failure with our club.
Add to all these failures, liquidation, lower league football, the numerous court cases, building work not completed on time resulting in us playing at Hampden, infighting, watching our biggest rivals overtake us by hoovering up just about every trophy, failed manager after manager, losing small fortunes on players because they have been dire, buying injury prone players, the list is endless.
Oh, and that our takeover appears to be one step forward, 2 steps back. Let's be honest, it hasn't been stellar, has it?
Answer me this, mate. Is it any wonder there's supporters whose glasses are 'half filled'? There isn't one thing I have posted here that isn't true.

Positivity is a good thing, but you need to be mindful that amidst your positivity, there has been those that have been pessimistic, and both have their own reasons for that. What annoys me, both sides throwing their pessimism or positivity as the right tone to have at those that differ from them, me, it's somewhere in the middle.
05 Aug 2026 08:25:00
We have a few players.
Bajrami
Raskin
Souttar
All as examples, doing their very best to maximise the size of their next contracts.
Bajrami had agreed a deal in principle with an Italian club, who in turn couldn't raise the fee or loan fee due to his salary demands.
Been told Souttar's overall package and fee is putting off a few clubs in the Championship.
Raskin, imo, is doing to us what he did to Liege. He knows where he wants to go. Unfortunately, that club is unable to match our fee.
Been told we have accepted a fee on Barron. He again is unwilling to commit.

Sunshine, I can absolutely assure you that I'm absolutely aware and switched on regarding our club and what's been happening/happened since 2012, mate. 🤔 I know only too well as I have continually/faithfully been going to watch Rangers for over half a century now. 🤔 What I'm getting at, Sunshine, is that some never give the club credit and every player we sign etc is not good enough when they've not given the player a chance to watch them playing for us, and it can't be denied, mate, because the usual suspects do this continually.
🤔 I've not been a happy bear with what's all been happening for the last 14 years, but I don't take it to the extreme that others continually do, mate. 🤔 Some are just negative with everything and never happy and I'm glad I ain't like that.
05 Aug 2026 08:39:22
And again you fail to acknowledge that balance is required regardless of either's extreme positivity or pessimism. Because you're happy, doesn't mean you can call out others who are not. They are allowed to voice concern, as you are allowed to promote your positivity, both sides are wrong and right at the same time.
05 Aug 2026 08:50:45
Interesting on Raskin and Barron, AR32. Could this be what's going on with Dahl? Given the Hull bid was accepted nearly a week ago, and no news. Is he sold on Rangers and wants to play here but Rangers are unwilling to meet Tromso's valuation?
I see the attraction of EPL football, but maybe he's being advised it's too big a jump at this stage.
Is the ball in Rangers' court, but we are rightly prioritising other areas at the moment? I live in hope.
05 Aug 2026 08:52:02
Sunshine, you are right in that all those things happen and they will have all added to the negativity from large sections of fans. But they are in the past and we can't really as fans do anything about it.
I just happen to think that the negativity from the stands doesn't help performances on the pitch so I choose to be a little more balanced and positive in what I see. Not going over the top as that is just as bad in a different way.
The issue is that the negativity seems to be kicking in after minutes now rather than the months it used to take. Surely even the most negative poster can see that it is impossible for anyone to perform well in the atmosphere which is created by that. No-one is asking those who have doubts not to still hold them, but let's at least give this manager and squad some time to prove what they can do playing in the sort of great atmosphere which we have all seen at Ibrox.
We need to do something to change this cycle. We no longer have the cash to buy top level oven ready players so we need to build a squad who can get us back competing again. If we are patient that might take a bit of tome but rather that than what I see as another 13 years of misery without a title. Is that perfect and do I want it like that, then the answer is a definite no. But I can't see any other option based on the history you have just outlined. This isn't settling for second best it is trying to be the best again using a different route we haven't been willing to give time for.
05 Aug 2026 09:01:06
Raskin has every right to do that, AR. It's his career and life. If he wants to wait for the right club, we can't really blame him. We need to make a decision, though, if he's going to be here or not. We have signed far too many CMs this summer without any leaving.
05 Aug 2026 09:10:15
Agree, WishyBear, I'm 💯 behind the rights of players.
As a fan, just frustrating to see it all play out.
05 Aug 2026 09:50:42
I get the positivity and glass half empty.
But, as time goes on and as someone I think tries to be more positive.
The club is testing me. So many false dawns.
Talk is cheap. A lot of promises, but I now need to see something more tangible.
As I mentioned in other posts, the fans (me) have played our part.
We need something back. I appreciate where Angus is coming from, where we are as a club but to be honest I am sick of it.
My son has seen us win one trophy. Well, when I say seen (COVID).
I do fully back AC. I think he underestimated the club but now I hope he gets it.
I think it will take him this season to get all his ducks in a row now for the full business or at least near to it.
But I need something, a statement signing, a bit of quality, free hospitality. 🤔 A night at 1D. 😁 A shot in the mascot suit, but something.
05 Aug 2026 10:40:17
Pieter, I am the same, and games aren't enjoyable to watch, and results are a disappointment. But I have vowed to not let it ruin the rest of my week, so I don my suit of positivity and it protects me from that.
Tell your son this is Rangers' latest equivalent of the 70s and early 80s, when we won very little, but when it does turn, as it will, we will win 9 in a row again.
That is what gets me through this, but we need to change something to get to that point. I hope the Americans building (slowly 😱) is what does that.
05 Aug 2026 11:02:48
I am a half empty type of guy when it comes to Rangers, and as SS it's because of the constant years of failure. I would like to applaud fork, I can't believe I am saying this is the voice of reason who sees both sides. Us half empty and the half full fans are as bad as each other, as we don't like to see it from both sides.
I think it's going to get worse before it gets better, especially this season and the way McInnes sets up his teams, but I am willing to take a step back and back the man to the hilt, like I said I would at the start. I hope we can get a positive result tomorrow night in Poland. 👍

Very good post Storm here here. 👍 🇬🇧 Also very good posts from Angus, Fork, Huistra and Sunshine. 👌 🇬🇧 I just get so fed up at times with continual negativity, guys, and I absolutely take on board your well written posts. 👏👏
