What an end to the Argentina v Egypt game!
You have to feel sorry for the Egyptians who looked on course for a famous victory.
It had a bit of everything:-
Disallowed goal.
Missed penalty early doors.
Yellow cards being flashed at an Egyptian bench that was losing the plot.
That's 6 European teams, 1 African & 1 South American team in the last 8.
I think France should be overwhelming favourites as they have a bit of everything in their side.

I was absolutely gutted for them. They put so much into the game and deserved more.
It's amazing how quickly a match can change.
Argentina more or less on their way out and 3 goals in the last 10 minutes.
I'm loving seeing all the different cultures dressed up in support of their countries.
If I hear Bon Jovi living on a prayer one more time at a hydration break, I think I will lose my mind. I used to like that song. ?

Infantino claiming he suffered with Argentina tells all of who his favourite is. Been happening for years.
Felt awful for Egypt.

Spain will take France apart in the semi final, as France will afford Spain even more space to play their football. ? No team will out pass/outplay Spain.

Can't believe how far back in the play they went to disallow a great goal for a minor foul that, as usual, the Argentine forward made a meal of. It creates a massive precedent, which will make consistency very difficult. It is no wonder that the Egyptians were then pointing out the two possible, not only fouls but penalties, in the lead up to the winner.
Both would have been soft, but in the context of what happened earlier, are they any less of fouls? The huge issue was that it would have meant disallowing the winner and giving Egypt a penalty to possibly win it themselves. A huge call against the "big" team in favour of the "wee" team so they decided to ignore it.

It's not like FIFA allowed Argentina to have an extra player or allowed players from other countries to be fielded, etc. Egypt were winning comfortably with 10 mins to go, and they got outplayed when the pressure was on. They needed to defend and sit in, and instead were naive and paid the price. Sour grapes is all it is.

I think France will win it.
The quality they have going forward is unreal!
I have noticed in the last couple of games that towards the end of the match, the slightest of touch, person goes down, and it's a free kick. Whereas at the start of the tournament they seemed to be consistent with fouls across the whole game.

Egypt bottled it, a bit like Hearts did in our league last season. I am glad Argentina go through, and it was 100% a foul. Don't know what the moaning and complaining is about.

I don't feel sorry for Egypt as they are also masters of cheating but I don't like torn faced Messi, I do like Norway very much and the Swiss, think England are in this for sure but think Spain got best chance of winning and I have £2.50 on that now.

Think Spain will be keeping all their goals conceded for the French game if it happens, an open team playing football like Spain will suit the French front 4. Be good game tho.

Hopefully an open game if they meet Walter and be a classic, think Lamal will give the Villa left back a tough time, but France have at least two world class players in forward line and other two not far off it.
